Ok, let's be realistic here and take any homerism out of it. I was obviously wrong. Would I have liked to win the game? Absolutely. Does this prove anything in regards to the Pats being in decline and Miami taking over the AFCE? Not in the least.

The exact same thing happened last year and you went on to lose your next two games. You had an 8-8 record and missed the playoffs.

1 game is not a big enough sample size. If this trend continues into week 5 or 6, then I will concede you are the favorites in the AFCE. It's very unlikely though.

I would've been more impressed if it was a 2007 world champion tshirt, but I think they were all shipped to Kenya after the loss.

Much better...all it "proves" is that Miami might be a little better than expected by most non Dolphins fans..The Pats are generally a very good barometer to grade by.. they are good a finishing teams and they did not do that this time..well coached and veterans that have been in the system etc etc I fully expect them to rebound but as it stands right now week one some things happened in this game that aren't really correctable from a coaching standpoint.. IE the Dolphins Dline is just "better" than the Pats Oline and that probably wont change a significant amount (barring injury) and the Pats D as a unit looked a little slow on the whole..those are things I would be concerned about as a Pats fan...no homerism.

The Oline sucked, but a lot of that had to do with the rotation. No doubt it caused confusion and it prevented any kind of gelling to occur. I can go back over several seasons to see that we've had this exact problem at the beginning of each season, only to have it corrected by the middle of the year. The Dline's play was also partly a function of switching to a 3-4. Jones and Niknovich weren't rushing the passer from their original positions. The 3-4 D is basically marginalizing our 2nd best defensive player (Jones) and not taking full advantage of his strengths. Also, Ninkovich played less than half the snaps for some reason.

These are things that can definitely be fixed.

Your points are valid and in line with the general consensus. I expect the Pats to be ready and the Vikings to not be ready for Tom Brady after they beat up on a team with no QB. The Pats should probably put up 40 pts but they're only 3.5 pt favorites while we are 1 pt underdog against Buffalo. So one week is not a big enough sample size.

I'll be in Charlotte visiting my parents Sat, but coming home to watch the game Sunday. CBS pulled a switch on us and aired the Pittsburg game so I almost missed the kickoff because I was out while recording but I got back just in time to switch to 711.

Do Pats fans realize their DYNASTY hasn't won a SB in almost a decade? I think they are confused with the definition.

    Well away from here
The laugh is that you haven't pulled your head out of your *** far enough to realize that the second sentence in this drivel is just a joke. Keep telling yourself these things, eventually you will convince yourself of it because no else will ever believe it. If you were that intelligent you'd have probably realized that most people can get a firm grasp of someone's intelligence without being told about it, it tends to come through naturally. It's typically the ones who proclaim themselves to be this and that, that are so far from the image they project its scary.

Now, maybe you should run along and ask your mom if you can borrow her computer a little longer tonight so that you can finish your calculus and algebra homework.

That O line sucking is a direct result of your "genius" head coach trading away the only guy on the team that could do the job...woot woot!

What needs to be fixed? Belicheat knows all right? His game plan was perfect no?

    Piss off drooler.

Not really. Mankins hasn't been an effective pass blocker in a while. His strength was in the run game.

Where Belichick went wrong was in the way he dealt with Mankins' absence. He rotated guys in and out of the Oline, not giving them time to gel and caused a ton of confusion, which led to the poor protection.

Have to let other teams win sometimes. Wouldn't be much of a league with only the good teams - Seattle, Denver, New England, etc.

Most of you predicted you'd beat Buffalo last year after you beat us and that you'd make the playoffs. Therefore anything you say after that is invalid.

I realize you've got a schtick where you're typing with one hand(with a oft-abused thesaurus or God knows what in the other), but you're in pretty rough shape here from a football standpoint.

The OL got roughed up badly, but the "rotation" thing is silly. You had one single position with a significant switch-up, and three of the other four players got roughed up badly- Including your blue chip Tackles. Nor is there a "history" of such a thing, and further, omitting Dante Scarnecchia from the conversation is just sad.

Playing with more 3-man lines was Bill Belichick's decision- Not a reaction to injury. It was a practiced decision that had more input and work behind it than any other game plan the Patriots will have this year. It wasn't a reaction to injury, like the Dolphins moving to a 3-4 because they lost all of their starting linebackers during the week. Nor is it that wacky a fish out of water story- All of those guys for the most part continued to play positions and techniques similar to what they play, and in line with what they've played in their career.

Chandler Jones is maybe an exception, but again, it was Belichick's decision, and his decision to stick with it. He seemed to think that Chandler Jones could manhandle a relatively poor/finesse run blocker in having him play over Branden Albert, and Jones got his **** ruined badly in a way that shouldn't have happened, and shouldn't have been allowed to continue.

The game mostly had to do with Tom Brady breaking down. The guy doesn't have the arm strength to hit things in the far intermediate/deep range. The guy completed like 10% of his passes past 15 yards, and it's not really a new issue.

But hey I'm looking forward to the Jimmy Garoppolo era?

You`re talking to Dolphins fans here, don't forget we witnessed the decline on one of the best pure passers in the game years ago and it was disgusting to watch. The point I`m trying to make is get used to it. Its never pretty but inevitable. Brady is showing his age, DEAL WITH IT.

It must be very frustrating to you that despite an 0-1 record most Pats fans are still incredibly confident about the rest of the season. You were probably hoping for us to crown you the new AFCE champs and to just turn on our team because we're all "bandwagon jumpers." Doesn't work that way. We're still a far better team. Inferior teams win games from time to time - especially at home.

Pats will be fine, and by the end of the season there will be an increase in the number of "same old same old" posts on this forum in reference to us winning the division and the Dolphins missing the playoffs.

Ya I saw a lot of confidence on patsfans.com, with all the callouts for Grappaho to start over Brady, etc.

You predicted a Patriots beatdown of the Dolphins, and were COMPLETELY wrong. Why would anybody listen to any other of your "predictions?"

You can base if off past-seasons' performance and probably be in the ballpark, but you REALLY don't know. Nobody does. Better to take your ***-whoopin' not like a little girl and STFU. Aside from that, carry on. NOBODY HERE CARES! :)

Right? It looked like we let them borrow Lobato (minus the arm strength) in the 2nd half.

That happens on literally every forum immediately after a loss, even on this one. Hell, it happened during the 1st half of Sunday's game before it was even over.

People tend to get over it quickly and be more rational.

Right, because such a large sample in regards to the Pats homefield advantage means absolutely nothing. It's not like the core of the team is essentially the same and they've added more talent than they've had in recent years.
