Made excellent adjustments and we completely dominated the Pats in the 2nd half. New England had NO answer for us. The coaches take a lot of crap but they were stellar today. Coyle's defensive game plan in the 2nd half was flawless. Defensive line ATE today!

We scored 33 points, and that was WITH 3 turnovers. This is so exciting!

    1-0. Fins Up!!!

I don't think it was coaching. To me the big WAKE'ing up point was Wake stripping Brady the first time. The whole game just shifted right there.

I owe my son $20 if Wake isn't the AFC Defensive Player of the week. He has to wash my car if Wake is.

Lazor's adjustments out-did Bill's...that was the biggest thing to me. And once RT got it going, he was dead-on accurate...he just needs to get that going quicker. But ya...I'd say Lazor and Philbin did their thing...Coyle seemed to ratchet some stuff up too, called for press, unleashed a few blitzes...made the difference.

I was really confident at halftime because we were running the ball and stopping the run. That continued in spades in the second half and we got the W. How do we build on it. Well, our starting LBs weren't much so now they really have some thing to think about with the performance of the 2nd LBs. Tannehill improved his accuracy in the second half but was robbed of a TD pass by Dion Sims. WRs need to clean it up but I was impresed with the WR blocking. Again Richard Mathews is a curse. I don't like him, I don't want him on the team. It should have been a blocked punt for a TD but Mathews can't hold a football. I've seen tons of Dolphins teams start strong and fade. IF the OL and Moreno stay healthy, this is a top 15 NFL team.

I will certainly admit that I have been one of those who have questioned the coaches over the past few years. Today though, I think they did an excellent job of making the changes necessary to overcome a bad first half and they completely out coached Belichick and his staff in the second half.

Kudos to all the coaches. This may have been Philbin' and Coyle's best coaching job since they came to the Dolphins in 2012.

True Dolphin fans NEVER bet against their team. They may not always believe the team might win a certain game, but betting against them should be considered a reason to revoke their status as a Dolphin fan.

Agreed , coaching has to be applauded . Add the miscues ( Wallace x2 , Sims , CC , Landry ) we had points we left on the turf , and coaches made the calls to get us in those positions .

The coaching wasn't even the problem in the first half, it was execution. They damn sure got the boys back on track though.

Lazor is a breath of fresh air. I saw so many WRs open. It was beautiful to watch. Our offensive line and Moreno almost made me cry. I am so proud of that group. James and Albert were damn near perfect. Satele dominated against Big Vince. Give the new OL coach major props.

The defense did what the defense has always done. They held the opponent to under 23 points.

The only thing I would like to see more of is a true read option. There were certain times where if Tannehill had just kept the ball, the end was wide open. There were big gains there.

There was nothing wrong with Lazor's calls in the 1st half. Just needed better execution. Coyle's 2nd half adjustments though were magnificent.

The coaching staff had a good gameplan from the beginning but their 2nd half adjustments were great. I think after one game we can see the difference between Sherman and Lazor, I mean Sherman couldn't even spell adjustment.

Lazor's game plan and play calling was on point all game long.

As Trent Green pointed out, some minor inaccuracies from Tannehill early left some yards on the field, and two clear cut drops hindered an attack that looked good anyways!!!

You really can't understimate our OL coaches impact on this team. He made Arian Foster and I'd really think we would be an elite team if we had a good WR coach.

I've said all along that my biggest reasons for optimism this year were Lazor and Tannehill. Lazor was great today. Tannehill struggled in the first half, but it wasn't as bad as some here are making it out to be. Reality is that even elite and HOF QBs aren't accurate on every pass. People just usually forget those throws when they win.

Mad props to the DC and LB coach in particular. The D made some good adjustments under difficult circumstances. And those back-up LBs had to have been well prepared to respond when called upon.

Also kudos to the OL coach for integrating a lot of new faces into a cohesive unit.

There are two players I want to crow about, one is an afterthought:

    Samson Satele

Guys lined up, no one looked confused, he more or less handled Wilfork even giving up what 50 pds and being "the worst Center in the league"

Then My boi..Chris McCain...yipee kay-yay..UDFA guy..you would have to be blind not to see his talent

John Madden had a theory, you put the guys out on the field who knew their assignments and made things happen

YKY is one of those guys

Feel like tho, praising Cameron Wake is redundant, Jeff Ireland was a cold GM he did gift us the Kraken...watching the game I KNEW he wanted to sack Brady for a safety..he KNEW..well that is enough of that..

Kudos to Hickey. His boys performed out there. McCain, James, Albert, Moreno, Shelley Smith, Earl Mitchell, Satele.

Also kudos to Benton. His O-line was ready to play and performed excellently.

Oh Rafi, glad you could stop by, do have to ask..McCain blocks a punt leads to a Td, heard MCourty was on their coverage teams and Grimes was on ours...at what point does it become apparent that ST is one of the last great frontiers of professional football?

    Next trend...more onside kicks...

I think Ross did Philbin a big favor when he forced him to fire Sherman and Turner after last season. This allowed Philbin the opportunity to go out and actually hire offensive coaches who know what they are doing.

So as long as we are passing out kudos today. I think Ross deserves a big kudo for making Philbin get rid of Sherman and Turner.

I have no idea what "last great frontier" means. lol If it means that is less frequent and less important than offense or defense, but still capable of having impact plays then I fully agree.

Mark Duffner. The guy whom we often heard from the naysayers really isn't much of a coach and was only hired because he is Philbin's buddy.

I can agree with that, I was just thinking that myself while reading this thread. Without those first half turnovers, we could have flat out dominated this game, for the whole game, not just the second half.

Ryan Daltonhill was hot garbage in the first half. That post route INT to Mike Wallace was embarrassingly bad. He was OK in the second half. Moreno/miller carried this team.

It is redundant to say we need to execute better. Every team needs to always execute better. And we left points on the field, despite the amazing performance. But having Lazor down on the field, along with Coyle, holding players responsible, and seeing the game from the players level...I think that is huge.

There was a defensive adjustment, in the first half you could see Brady just taking what the cushion allowed, all the way down the field, then quite simply, we changed to Press coverage..0 points in the 2nd half for about 50 junk yards..I can show you a pregame post where I thought we had to abandon our zone style for press..it's not rocket science..their receivers are not great off the line, we have good to great corners, and serious pass rush, the combination works.
