He injured his calf yesterday and the prognosis is unknown. Still no news if it's a serious injury or not, or whether he will be playing Sunday. Let's all cross our fingers and do a little dance....but I'm not getting my hopes up on him missing the opener. http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/newengland/football/patriots/2014/09/04/tom-brady-misses-thursday-practice-because-of-calf-issue/
I actually wouldn't mind if they kept him out until the season really starts for us next week. This game on Sunday is just a formality. Basically a bye week.
so the Vikes are a better team then the Fins? Maybe they should sit him til week three when they play the Raiders?
Oh, they must have updated it since I posted that then. Maybe he is okay...but it still felt post-worthy.
Our Dline > their oline. Our corners > their receivers Our receiver unit > their corners We have some nice matchups going for us. He sat out practice because of his calf on a Thursday practice?... Hmmmm.
lol lol lol lol Most delusional Dolphins fan I've seen yet. I won't even brag about the Pats beating your terrible team (when it inevitably happens) because it isn't any kind of accomplishment. It really is no big deal. We're SB contenders. Your team likely won't even make the playoffs.
Nah, I'll be here telling you the Pats win was 100% expected. And that it, in fact, is not a big deal. We have much bigger fish to fry.
I really don't think so..our Dline is better than your oline..your starting center is not good, no mankins...not even a question we will win this matchup, the real matchup comes down to how fast Brady can get rid of the ball against us. Our top two corners are better players than your top two receivers.. Overall 1 thru 5 receivers are better than any five guys you can match up with.. Sorry troll, it's only three areas, no worries..
You don't know what you're talking about. Mankins hasn't been an effective pass blocker in a while. We may miss him in the run game, but certainly not the pass game. You don't have anybody that can match up with Gronk. Edelman and Amendola killed you last year. Dobson had a TD against you and he is healthy now and has shown significant improvement in camp and in preseason. Lafell is a big receiver who will be a nice red zone target for Brady. You have no WR that can keep up with Revis. Dennard is a very good CB2. In short, you're going to get blown out on your home field.
Brady=yeast infection As for matchups, it depends if the Refs give the patsies their usually calls Otherwise do think our front 4 v their oline favors us Think we will miss Dion Jordan erasing Gronk Think LaFell has bad hands, not to worried about their other Wr's Am concerned about Thigpen Pats front 7 is good, their Safeties not so much, Cb's are better with Revis and Browner, think Bline goes for 80 yds and Wallace has a quiet day..or not
In the game at Miami last year: Amendola, 10 rec, 131 yards Edelman, 13 rec, 139 yards, 1 TD Yeah, nothing to worry about.
Not at all, we did beat you once last yr, think we are stronger in the front 7 and Cb's this yr Our Safeties are probably weaker with Jones out, though do think that is an overall view b/c Wilson was a top 10 nickel Cb last yr per PFF which means if he covers the slot he should have better results than Clemons would have had. And our OL is upgraded from the unit that did produce a win v NE last yr as is the Rb position That said, can't beat the Refs
You beat probably the weakest Pats team since 2006. Not only that, we were depleted due to injuries. You aren't stronger at CB. At least not enough to matter. Brady has significantly more weapons at his disposal this year. Edelman and Amendola (who both had a field day in Miami last year), a healthy and improved Aaron Dobson, a healthy Vereen who is one of the biggest receiving threats out of the backfield, a good red zone target in Lafell, and of course Gronk. Throw in a good possession receiver like Thompkins and newly acquired TE2 Tim Wright and that's a pretty potent passing attack. And if you want to use PFF, McCourty was ranked as the top safety last year. So we have a pretty darn good FS.
Grimes and Finnegan > eddleman and amendola Our Dline > pats oline Our receiver 1 thru five > their top 5 covers, This isn't rocket science, Try to be objective son,we have our matchups you have yours. Lucky our stff fu@&ed up with Dion Jordan..your right Pod, were gonna miss that boy from last year.
I don't recall who Grimes was on last year (I assume Edelman) but he certainly didn't slow him down. Fair enough on Finnegan. Maybe he will slow down Amendola. But then you still have to worry about Dobson and Lafell. And of course Gronk and Vereen who are both match up nightmares.
Your receivers aren't better than our CBs. You have no one that will be able to escape Revis Island. Dennard is a very good CB2. Logan Ryan had 5 INTs last year and is always in the right spot to make a big play. Arrington is a solid slot CB.
Nolan Carroll sucks, do you even know who that is.. Lol, a "healthy and improved "Aaron Dobson..Aaron Dobson..lol, you better hope to hell he's improved, hey guess what every player this offseason has gotten "healthy and improved" on our team, isn't that ironic, wow, we have so much in common.. Knowshown Moreno who put up 200 on y'all, member him, he's a dolphin and, he's " healthy and improving" Finnegan > Nolan Carroll?not even close. Y'all are lucky 3 of our best are out.
Gronk coming off of injuries and LaFell do not exactly scare me And we are, keep in mind Davis and Taylor both had the injury bug as well and Finnegan it remains to be seen with, Coyle and Co do seem to help out Db's Revis Island? Every Dolfan recalls Ted Ginn leaving Revis Island on his way to the endzone
Revis is the best in the game.. I said unit against unit..we beat your corners last year with no Gibson and Hartline and no Landry... And we kicked the sh@& out of your asses in your park last year, until the refs gave you the worst call ever..remember that O vernon strip fumble behind the Los on third down that he recovered and they gave to you because he swiped the ball..? What a joke..
Moreno put up 200+ yards on us (playing with a far superior team in Denver) and they still lost. Yes, Finnegan > Nolan Carroll. So what? We have many more weapons in the passing game than we had last year.
Take a look at Gronk's numbers after he came back from injury last year. Or When he came back from injury in 2012. Gronk will be Gronk. He won't hold back. Gibson played in the first game. He had 1 rec for 4 yards. Hartline played in both games and hardly set the world on fire. Still complaining about that call (which was the right call btw.) You lost the game. The refs had nothing to do with with this stat line for our defense: 6 sacks, 2 INT, 1 FF. We had a habit of playing poorly in the first half last year and then turning it on in the 2nd half. Remember the Denver game? The Cleveland game? Texans game? Etc...
so do we dude, Jesus, Hartline, Landry, Moreno, Gibson, these are four skill players that didn't play in your loss, we can go back and forth but it doesn't matter, you guys have dominated the division for over a decade....great, I don't live in the past, if you want to fine, have a fap to it.. Just don't keep telling us crap like Dobson is healthy and improved, and camp reporters say he was good, or in preseason thompkins was improved...I'm sorry has thompkins reported healthy and improved as well? I can go player for player.. You think it's gonna be a blowout, come on, that's such homerism it's not even funny. if your gonna come here, be smart.
Hartline played that game. Moreno had a huge game against us in the regular season last year and his far superior team at the time still couldn't beat us. Regarding Dobson, those are both fair points to bring up. He was injured last year. Missed several games and played hurt when he came back. He was also a rookie, so a second year leap is exactly what you want to see.
Vollmer is a BEAST who we didn't have last year, Solder is even better this year and is a stud who goes under the radar, Cannon is a bully, and everyone else is smart, and solid Revis > any receiver Miami Dolphins have ... Hartline is good but Alfonzo Dennard and Logan Ryans have at least 8 picks in between them and are fundamentally sound and really physical and can hold their own, their technique is awesome and Arrington is good in the slot, actually was part of shutting down Jimmy Graham last year to spell Aqib Talib for a few plays, and stepped in front of Jimmy Graham, and dropped a pick while in mid air with Jimmy.
We've got our matchups and they've got their matchups, but the biggest question coming into this game for us is "will our new offense live up to expectations?" Right now no one can answer that question for sure, but I will leave you Pats fans with these quotes: You guys are scared of what will happen Sunday, we can tell... it's why you take the time to come over here, register for an account, post, create threads... you want to reassure yourselves that you are indeed going to win... that the last game against us was indeed a fluke. If we DO beat you guys again, though, we want you back here , don't run away like the last time.
Funny how that works, "it was a good call" no, it was a typical Belicheat favoring call, like destroying the Spygate Tapes etc etc Or my favorite "we did have a perfect season 18-1...lulz All that aside, Brady has looked less like "Tom Brady" the last 2-3 yrs, his accuracy and ball placement seem off and he rarely hits on a deep pass any longer seems like most of his big plays now are more RAC/YAC affairs
Brady missing one practice in a system he's been in for years for a game he has prepped for for months just doesn't seem to matter in the least. Seriously, If he doesn't know what he needs to by now.........
