Thanks to Daniel Thomas for always playing to the best of his capabilities and fighting through injury. In the end he wasn't good enough to stick but I've never hated him because he gives it 110% out there.
Letting him go means we are comfortable with the Williams boys and/or Landry handling returns. Personally, after D2 opened our eyes with that superb effort on that 35 yd return against Dallas, he is who I want running back kickoffs. As for punts, both Damian and Landry bring something to the table. Damian gives ya more potential for a long return though, but Landry seems the least likely to ever muff a punt. Maybe use the latter inside the 20 and the former everywhere else on punt returns.
Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzz · 10s Dolphins also have informed WR Kevin Cone and LB Andrew Wilson that they have been released. Impeachment!
@ArmandoSalguero: Things can change, but source tells me Jason Fox is making the Dolphins. For now. Backup T. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzz · 24s Dolphins told have QB Seth Lobato they are releasing him but indicated they likely will sign him to practice squad.
There really is no good reason IMO. If you want to trade him for a starting caliber guard...fine, but he's a pick whohas greatly overpermormed is draft slot. You ddon't cut that for no reason.
@nyjets: We're confirming the release of QB Tajh Boyd. Give me him over Lobato every day of the week. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzz 2m Dolphins have told rookie DT Kemal Johnson they are putting him on IR (torn meniscus). Rookie DT Anthony Johnson expected to stick. yeah IR.. mmhmm..
@flasportsbuzz: Interesting: Dolphins have informed undrafted RB Orleans Darkwa that he has made the 53-man roster, per agent Brian Michael Hannula. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
@flasportsbuzz: .... Darkwa also left with impression that undrafted RB Damien Williams is making it as well. Dolphins obviously could change roster... Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
@ArmandoSalguero: The Dolphins are keeping fourth-round pick Walt Aikens: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/ Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Darkwa & Williams are a surprise. Keeping both, I mean. Basically means one of them better be productive
I didn't think so either. Nice to see someone from my high school make my favorite team. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
@flasportsbuzz: The Dolphins have informed safety Jordan Kovacs that he has been released. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
I think Daniel Thomas didn't fit what the Dolphins want to do in the new Lazor offense. They want backs that can play in space. Thomas is not that type of back. I do think he'll catch on somewhere else. People are saying there are big name backs being cut today but a lot of them have mileage (Green Ellis).. Thomas doesn't. He's got plenty of tread left on his tires. Problem for him is that he doesn't really play special teams.
Is his source all of Twitter? Talk about being late. @AdamSchefter: Dolphins released RB Daniel Thomas, per league source. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Daniel Thomas will almost certainly be on an NFL roster going forward. There's a reason why two coaching staffs here kept using him despite his shortcomings.
I think Adam Beasley said Turner was expected back at practice next week, with Tuesday being the earliest. Hopefully that means he's not going on PUP. I'd hope the same for Pouncey as well.
Whats funny..is in the fame thread when Kemal limped off the field..someone called out welcome to the IR..lol
@AbramsonPBP: Can confirm Orleans Darkwa & RB Damien Williams are on #Dolphins 53-man roster at the moment although I'm told cuts still being finalized. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but at present the Dolphins have the following on IR, correct? Mike Gillislee, Arthur Lynch, A.J. Francis, and Kamal Johnson? Anyone else?
I'm surprised Darkwa and Fox made it. Keep in mind there will be cuts after deadline as they pick up players.
