Four things in my life, where I remember where I was, who was around me, and how I was feeling when it happened. Challenger space station blowing up. 9/11. Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress in the SuperBowl. Greg Camarillo game winning TD.
Is it time to rank "the" Dolphins moments? I can think of a few. Lemon to Camarillo Ronnie Brown debuting the Wildcat vs NE Ronnie Brown Wildcatting the Jets at the goal line on 2009 MNF The Colts destroying the Dolphins on 2009 MNF Chris Chambers vs Buffalo in 2005 Jason Taylor signing with the Jets Nick Saban not going to be the Alabama coach Wannstache quitting The Peyton Manning helicopter chase I need a drink.
The line about being the Knicks of the NFL is spot on, though this one was kind of subpar for the series. I think Drew is losing steam.
Most of my memories involve stuff off the field. I remember heading to a pickup basketball game on the night Jimmy quit (before Huizenga talked him into coming back), watching ESPN on Christmas Day with the news Nick Saban was taking the Dolphins job. Also, the Harbaugh flirtation/fiasco. Far as memories go my most vivid is blowing a 21-6 halftime lead in the divisional round in San Diego against the Chargers. Chargers took the lead with under a minute left, but Marino got the team in FG range on a long pass interference call only for Stoyanovich to miss badly on a long-ish game winning FG attempt.
Do yourselves a favor and read every team if you have the chance. I look forward to these because every one is hilarious.
The colts didn't destroy us on MNF in 2009. I would also add the JT sack on Tom Brady that caused an INT, which lead to Feeley to Thompson.
i would if the ignore would remove it 100% but its basically just a hide button Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
The Colts had the ball for less than 15 minutes and scored on every drive to win. Yes, that is destruction.
Vontae wanting to call grandma after being told he was traded is another great moment. Why'd we trade that guy? He was comedy gold.
That Sunday night game in 2002 in Denver always sticks out to me as memorable. We were riding so high after that win and then Ray Lucas ruined everything.
Beating the Jets in their building to win the division with their former QB is up there too (at least for me.)
That was a cool story angle and it made me laugh several times. Unfortunately, I can't quote some of the funniest lines because they're rated R, but that was definitely worth reading.
Phillip Merling scoring against the jets and Favre giving chase for us to win the division was pretty god damn amazing.....had to wait until Monday night for that too. Great stuff.
- The Denver game we won where we lost our QB and the 1 & 2 WRs, was AMAZING! (I know, I know it ushered in the Ray Lucas debacle but still) - Finally getting of the shnide with the Jets when Ricky went off and OG had THE catch. - The Bua Block - The first WildCat game. - Beating the Pats last year
The big jets comeback on MNF where we led 100 to nothin and lost. slightly exaggerated. That's the one I'll NEVER forget.
The good.. The wildcat game...unzips.. Ummmmmm, beating the jets at their place with Pennington for the grey hats. Ummmmmmm Ricky punishing fools.
True Story, I went and bought a Camarillo jersey after that game. Not because Camirillo was a player that was worth owning his jersey, but more out of sheer gratitude.
Ive never heard of a 4 point loss as destruction. We almost beat them... Destruction is what NE did to Tennessee in that snow game.
I rarely agree with Desides but that Colt game (and the Saints game not long after) were destructions. To lose a game where you hold the ball for 45 minutes and still lose is a freaking travesty.
The Denver game was pure joy. The wildcat win versus the pats was amazement. Everything else has been pain.
