I'm just praying that Pouncey can get back in the first few weeks of the season. We got the Pats and the Bills in the first 4 weeks, and they'll likely be without Pouncey... that's gonna be tough. If we can walk out of the 1st 4 games 2-2, I'll consider that a victory.
Personally I don't even think Shelley Smith "flopped" at center. I think they concluded that experiment early based on cold feet. That was one of those experiments they should have known beforehand that if they were going to try it then they had better commit to allowing him to make some mistakes and then having him work through them. What they did instead was really just waste everyone's time. If they were going to pull the plug that quickly then they shouldn't have bothered with the experiment at all. Smith wasn't the only one that's had bad snaps, which I think tells you there are some other things going on between the installation of the new offense and the quarterback chemistry with the centers. I know that right away when they replaced Smith with Garner at center, that very next practice Garner was in on about 4 botched exchanges. In one practice. To put that in perspective, Smith was roasted for being involved in 6 botched exchanges over the course of 5 practices.
Yeah haha, I put an emphasis on 4 weeks because right after that we have the bye... I think Pouncey will come back at the most in week 6, after the bye.
i just figured that the picture i took with satele against the giants in london is relevant again, lol, meanwhile the one with john beck is still garbage...
I've always rooted for Samoan/PI players, don't know why (Maaaauiiiiaaa!). Hoping Satele makes a good run at it.
There are a lot of Samoan and Tongan players. Cannot think of any with PI blood. Who are you thinking of? Edit: Tedy Bruschi may be half.
PI is also an old acronym for Philippine Islands. We often used to refer to the Philippines as The PI.
Yes, because there were multiple Pro Bowl centers available but Hickey said to himself "what can we do to get worse". Does your whining ever cease?
Oh I know (I live in a community of San Diego nicknamed Manilla Mesa - Mira Mesa). It is still referred that way.
Other than maybe Bruschi, can you think of any players with significant Filipino blood? Since you put the thought in my head... The full blooded Filipinos are usually of too small a stature to be football players at a high level, but when they mix with whites or blacks, the offspring can get frigging huge.
