@EthanJSkolnick 57m Can confirm report -- 1st by AP -- that Wade's deal is 1 year plus option. Heat wanted flexibility in 2016. Got it. And he sacrificed again.
Looking over the FA list for next year, and while there is no Durant on there, there are some good players: Marc Gasol, Al Jefferson, Brook Lopez, Kawhi Leonard, Goran Dragic, and Klay Thompson. 2016 and 2017 (Westbrook, Griffin) are better, but I wonder if the Heat can play with the cap to get a good piece next year if Wade and/or Deng opt out.
You know what? Lance Stepehenson is gonna play SOMEWHERE this season, and for a lot less than he wants.
He is but I honestly don't want him on the Heat, don't know why but I just don't want him. Call me crazy I guess.
Yeah, and Aldridge too. Missed both because the article I read assumes both with sign extensions before then.
Albert Random is doing fine work on the cap. Nobody better on Heat Cap matters. He estimates that UD has given up around $15mil on his last two contracts.
So then the Heat are basically done, right? C: Chris Andersen, Justin Hamilton, ¿Greg Oden? PF: Chris Bosh, Josh McRoberts, Udonis Haslem SF: Luol Deng, Danny Granger, James Ennis SG: Dwyane Wade PG: Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, Shabazz Napier Forgetting anyone?
I'd imagine JJ has a good chance to be brought back too. And the feeling is that Bosh probably starts at C and McRoberts at PF. Other than that, looks about right. Hopefully they add a 2 guard like Rush or Crawford.
Welp, we'll definitely be seeing more 3 pointers from the Rockets. Troy Daniels - 40% from 3 last year in D-league; 48% from 3 with the Rockets Kostas Papanikolaou - 43% from 3 for career in Greece Trevor Ariza - 41% from 3 last year for Wizards Isaiah Canaan - 37% from 3 last year in D-league Robert Covington - 37% from 3 last year in D-league Patrick Beverly - 36% from 3 last year James Harden - 37% from 3 last year Bombs away!
I'm just trying to list everyone at their true positions for now. I don't think center is Bosh's true position though he and McRoberts may be in the starting lineup and Bosh would be technically the starting center.
I don't like Bosh at center, with him being the leader he needs to be at the 4 where he won't take a lot of wear and tear.
They can sign a number between whatever they have now and twenty players to minimum contracts at this point. Outside the cap.
McRoberts is 6'10 240 Bosh is 6'11 235 It could be possible to see McRoberts guard the Center defensively in those lineups with Bosh playing Center offensively. I'd actually like to see Bosh in the post more on offense.
Good point. Chalmers, Wade, Deng, McBob and Bosh would have the best spacing and most scoring potential. I could even see Cole starting and Chalmers coming off bench at 1 or 2.
You know, I've thought about this; and knowing how set in his ways Spoelstra is, if I'm Bosh I would have insisted on a provision in the contract; or at least a gentlemen's agreement, that I play the 4 primarily and most of the time—say, 80%.
All that is left are min. contracts and to monitor the Boozer amnesty situation. I think he makes it through Waivers. Watch Rush and Crawford. They make sense.
Anyone think it was a coincidence Wade mentioned the word "home" twice when referring to Miami in his post and specifically said "home is where the heart is"?
The way it works... Waivers. Uncapped teams can "Bid" for him. Highest Bid wins. Tiebreaker= Worse record gets him. If he clears waivers...he is a FA. (Heat then come in)
First domino. Now if no one puts a bid in for him, he's probably ours. I trust Section's sources, but I'm not optimistic that no one puts a bid in for him.
He's made it pretty clear where he wants to be. Not saying no-one bids, but the last thing a team wants to do is add a guy that doesn't want to be there and could have a negative impact on the locker room. If a team claims him it will be a fellow contender.
Heat again tonight at 6:30 vs Washington. Will be watching via stream, will try and help anyone by keeping updated on anything good/bad.
I live in Vagina, sorry mean Virginia so I get to watch it on tv, I hate this state lol, bad enough the Deadskins are always on when football season starts.
Boozer also has leverage in that he could simply refuse to report to a team that he doesn't want to play for, leaving that team on the hook for a cap hold in the amount of their bid.
