I doubt he leaves, I'm just not sure what he's going to do once he settles back into the dysfunction. Honeymoon period will only last so long.
A lot of folks think he looks stupid for going back to Cleveland. Except Cleveland fans. They think it's brilliant. And in two years if he goes back to Miami to win more championships a lot of folks will think that looks stupid, except to Miami fans who will think it brilliant. I expect that at any given point LeBron is just going to make the decision that makes the most sense to him to accomplish his goals. He and his people can deal with public opinion. That's what all the spinmasters he's surrounded with are for. Truthfully the Knicks are probably more likely than the Heat. The last thing he'll want to scratch off his bucket list is playing with Carmelo Anthony, and Anthony just signed a 5 year deal. I'm not sure if there are any player opt outs in the deal. There haven't been any advertised.
Tim ReynoldsVerified account @ByTimReynolds With Dwyane Wade, sources say it is a two-year deal with a player option for next season. Expect about $16-17M in salary this coming year. That is a FANTASTIC deal if Tim is right.
BTW guys..Wade has signed. Conflicting reports as to what it is. Tim Reynolds is reporting that it is a 2 YEAR DEAL with an option....which means that he RETURNED somewhere AROUND an average of $5 Million per year...or a total of around $15 Million. So it seems that Wade is also adding to the flexibility for 2016. Just awesome. START CONSTRUCTION OF THE STATUE NOW.
Eh maybe. I know he'd like to play with Melo but I'm not sure how important it is. Allegedly Melo was trying to get in touch with him about playing together this year somewhere and he wouldn't return his calls. I'm not sure he can go anywhere except Miami if he does leave and not face a hail storm of public opinion. Especially after saying "Miami will always be my second home" comment. Give me Durant though.
Would be funny if this was all some crazy Pat Riley scheme all along. Not saying it is, just that it woulf be hilarious. That might be the only scenario I'd want to take him back.
Could be. Obviously based on contracts Riley plans to revisit the team in 2016. Also, both Bron and Wade signing a 2-yr deal with opt out clause may mean they are both positioning themselves based on anticipated cap raises, but it may mean more than just that.
That's insane if true. There has to be some sort of loophole here for the Heat to bump his pay next year or something like that though. Obviously he'll be taken care of by the organization probably for life, but to give up that kind of money AGAIN is just mind blowing. He is now the greatest Heat of all time if there was any debate up until this point. #HeatGOAT should be trending on twitter in Miami right now!
Was that a pot shot at Cleveland before and after and before Lebron? Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk
A Colossus of The Roads (non-Miamians won't get that) is a great idea; but does he have to look like he's about to loose a deuce?
Yes. Complete with Varejao. Has he ever dunked on Lebron? We can use that one and just say its to celebrate two of the best players in Heat history. Jk.
@EthanJSkolnick 51s Dirk Nowitzki: 3 years, $25M. Kobe Bryant: 2 years, $48.5M. Curious to see whether Mavericks or Lakers get more value.
uh....so..he gives $8 Million in actual dollars...right back to the Heat. and leaves......a grand total of around $26 Million on a prorated 4 year deal on the table.
So is that it? We'd need anyone else to take a minimum deal right? That might mean the Oden ship has sailed.
Don't think so. It's less long-term, but more short-term (at least than was expected, not the deal he opted out of). Pretty sure their at the cap now unless Deng's deal is creative somehow.
Not this year. But it opens up cap space for next year..and opens up the VAULT for 2016. As in...we can REPEAT 2010.
@AlbertRandom1 4m Napier, Birdman, Haslem (assuming he's taking Room MLE) will be signed last, using exceptions that will allow Heat to exceed cap.
@AlbertRandom1 52s As expected! RT @IraHeatBeat Udonis Haslem has agreed to return to Miami Heat on $2.7 million space exception, source tells Sun Sentinel.
