It would be kind of amusing to reunite Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers.

Yes, I'm a Heat fan, long time, since 92/93. Use to do engineering work for RK centers real estate co and get tickets often, they were one of the owners long time ago, I don't know if they still are.

    Cool.

I was just wondering due to your doubts about the "forever men" story. This organization is the real deal. I know people in that building and they are worth rooting for. They really give a ****.

if you want an impact player for our system...he is pretty much it. Unless they plan something interesting with that 2.7 and Cole's money.

I'm still pretty curious about how the design of the offense changes now that LeBron is gone.

Me too. Wade is not the penetrator he once was, so they probably won't be a drive and dish team.

    pretty simple.

We played a lot of 1-4, with Side P&R's for secondary. Lebron got almost all of the High P&R's which hurt Wade a bit.

We used some double post principles (Hybrid Triangle) from the Riley days but went away from it for long stretches.

I would expect a much more diversified offense, that will have a much more conventional look.

    Me too. My 2 cents.

I don't think too much changes except the fact that you see Bosh in the post more (which is fine he has a great post game) and Wade taking over a lot more ball handling responsibility. Which is fine if he is healthy, because honestly he's not the best off the ball player IMO and it suits his game better. Rio probably starts to take on a bit more of a traditional PG role as well but probably maintains his role as a shooter when Wade is doing the handling.

I think basically you see the role of the SF and SG reversed more or less. Whether it is Ennis or Deng...both guys have a really nice shot that makes them dangerous off the ball, while neither is going to have primary ball handling responsibility.

A lot depends on what our rotations will look like though. I could be 500% wrong.

I don't care for feel good stories, smear campaigns. I don't need a pat on the back. I've seen it all, I've stuck through it all. I don't care about LeBron. I just need to know who they signed and who they plan on signing.

Also, I am a fan, and certain players piss me off, certain moves piss me off, certain stories piss me off, and bad patterns piss me off. Thorughout the years there has been a little bit of everything, and I am going to voice my displeasure.

Dez is a Phins fan as well...even though he spends all season trying to convince us otherwise.

Sounds like he is pissed off alot.

So much depends on Wade's health. Does anyone know what we really should expect from him..realisticly?

Only Wade knows. All I can tell you is the good things I know and the bad.

Good: His procedure was supposed to take more than last year to fully recuperate. While Wade was healthy and not at risk of injury, his knee was not at the strength it should be fully recovered.

Good: His injury was not structural which gives him a great chance at full recovery.

Bad: We don't know that the procedure was entirely successful until we actually see some of his explosiveness return and no further knee issues (needing draining etc)

The bolded is why I hate the idea that Wade is " broken down and falling apart". To me falling apart is your body failing, multiple injuries, different injuries. Etc.

Wade has really only had this one bad injury that as I said is non structural and can be fully healed. He needs to get back into elite shape, that is for sure. Aside from that it's possible we see a Wade slightly less explosive, but generally close with a more well rounded game, to his 2010 self.

Hopefully he's somehow in better shape than last year. His job is going to be a bit tougher this year, imo. He'll draw the other teams' top wing defender (aka the guys who used to guard LeBron) while also handling the ball and driving the lane more. He could help himself and this team a ton by developing a somewhat respectable three-ball.

But anyways...didn't realize the Heat summer league team was going to Vegas too. Game tonight.

As far as the new O. I am thinking that obviously Wade and Deng will be perimeter drive threat. Hopefully Ennis too.
McBob, and Bosh can space the floor being a shooting threat, as well as Chalmers.

Chalmers and Bosh will be pick and pop, and McBob. Chalmers needs to be more involved and get better at pick and pop. Team will need his scoring nad he needs to raise it. Haslem is also a pick and pop player but he has not been effective as of late.

As far as pick and roll, Bosh can do it but rolling to the hoop has not been effective because of help defenders, so here cutters like Wade and Chalmers and Deng are important, as well as perimeter spacing for dish out.

As far as the post game, Wade is the best player. We don't have a Duncan. maybe Bosh can improve, don't know.

So happy for this kid. We inked him for 2 years. Best player in D-league last year. Hit 5 threes per game at almost 50%. Not to mention he hit the game winner in the playoffs against the Trailblazers. Damn good defender, too. Hard work pays off. Let's get it, Troy!

I know you aren't asking me but Id say it depends on Stephenson and where he goes, assuming he's a Pacer

    1) Indiana
    2) Toronto/Miami
    3) Miami/Toronto
    4) Cleveland/Chicago
    5) Chicago/Cleveland
    6) Washington
    7) Brooklyn
    8) Who the hell knows.

FWIW I could see us finishing anywhere from 2-4 so don't tell me I'm being too optimistic. Could also see the Cavs finishing third. I just think it takes too long for a team to gel and they don't have the pieces we had in 2010 to recover strong down the stretch. Remember how bland of a start we got off to that year.

Don't know how it will shake out but I'm predicting either a Cavs/Pacers or Heat/Pacers ECF depending on which of us avoids them in the semis.

    Depends on what Indiana does.

As of now..it's fluid, and I haven;t done a total wins analysis. My best guess is a #3 seed.

Who do you have as the #2 ahead of us in your initial guess? Obviously #1 would be Indiana. Do you see the Cavs being great right away and fighting for the #2 seed?

I like him a lot. But he shot 40% from three. Not 50%.

As for him being the best player in the D-League.....He was very good, but..then again He was 3rd team ALL NBDL.....The Heat's Justin Hamilton was 1st Team NBDL and had monster numbers as well.

Although I would think a perimeter player from the D-League translates a little better than a big man from the D-League

Miami should be right in the thick of things. #3 team this year won 48 games. Indiana should take the cake, but Miiami should be there fighting for #2 if they take the offseason and season seriously, With the Bulls, Cavs, Brooklyn, Wizards. If not, if they have hickups, they could miss the playoffs. The difference between #3 seed and Knicks missing the playoffs is 10 games, 47 wins vs 37 wins.

@AlbertRandom1 8m The Heat have announced the official signings of Mario Chalmers and Josh McRoberts.

    @AlbertRandom1 6m
That means the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level exception, Bi-Annual exception and both trade exceptions are now officially gone, as expected.

    @AlbertRandom1 3m
His cap hold was $7.6M. RT @BlakeElmore1 is there benefit to officially signing Chalmers now? Is his cap hold higher than his new salary?

Yeah, I'm expecting more aggressive play from Wade/Bosh and better bench production should be an absolute given. Losing Lebron hurt but adding Deng made it so that we are still a threat to take the East IMO

    Especially if Stephenson leaves Indy.

@AlbertRandom1 3m Granger may not have been best bargain. Signing means he got more than minimum. Starting salary should be $2.1M, as previously agreed.

    @AlbertRandom1 1m
If so, would count $2.1M against cap, but be just $760K > min. Min wouldn’t count against cap if timed right; would’ve saved $1.6M of room.

@AlbertRandom1 44s Lost opportunity there, in my humble opinion.

Not sure what we do with the other two honestly. Definitely need another SG at the least.

Weird to not have a backup SG considering the fact that Wade sat out so many games. Maybe he'll do back-to-backs this year. Or maybe that's where they see Ennis? Or maybe more two-PG looks?
