I honestly believe we are better off without Lebron, the Spurs showed us that having the best basketball player ever doesn't mean anything, a complete team is where it's at. So excited, in Riley we trust!
True. Let's hope Oden's ready for 20-25 MPG. And hey; this might be the year we actually let a young C mature on the roster, and Hamilton sticks. THREE rookies on a Spriley squad?!
If they get Birdman, Haslem, and Oden, I do not see a need to spend 6 mil on McBob. Also, with Ennis and Deng, I do not see a need to spend on Grainger.
Just b/c he starts doesn't mean he'll get 30 minutes. I expect the C position to be a committee of Birdman, Bosh, Haslem, and Oden, Hamilton or Okafor (or similar). I'm not crazy about Hamilton either and I wouldn't say he's been tearing up the summer league like Ennis has. I think he's okay as a third C and the usual inactive who can come in and not compromise your defensive system in a pinch.
Link that says subscribe on the forum list. $15. I wont share this info via PM out of respect for Section, he chose to post it in a safer place possibly for a reason. Sorry guys.
You have to assume that if nothing happens with Stephenson that they might add a James Jones or Beasley for the minimum.
Hamilton has had a few games that bring down his overall numbers, but when he has been on...he's dominated. He allows Bosh to use his post game offensively because he has a nice shot from three and can stretch, while he can hopefully guard centers defensively. Don't write him off as a solid contributor.
McBob is another guy who fit great with LeBron because LeBron and the spacing they used could make up for McBob's lack of rebounding. I don't see how McBob can play with Bosh as a frontline. Hopefully he can be a good piece with Bosh off the floor...you just hate to pay the guy that to be a second unit fixture. I dunno, hopefully I'm wrong there and he and Bosh would be a fine duo here and there.
Is it just me, or is David Blatt the doppelganger of the cross-eyed bug scientist from 'Silence of the Lambs'?
McBob is one of the finest P&R defending big men in the NBA. Bosh is probably the very best at it. I think THAT is where you hang your hat. On a great defensive front line that can short circuit P&R offenses such as ...oddly enough....what Blatt will run in Cleveland.
James Jones is more likely than Beasley, IMO. And there's nothing wrong with that. James Jones fits very well on the Heat.
Is it possible we dump Cole to free up the 2m to give 12m to Lance? I don't know how the NBA cap system works at all.
No idea but Ive been reading that we have no intention of trading Cole. I think a sign and trade of Chalmers for McRoberts is more likely.
I think that's key b/c we won't have as much of drop off when Bosh sits. I see that as the biggest McRoberts benefit. Although I do think they can play together when we go small. Reality is that in today's NBA you're going to play small ball a large percentage of the time. I'm more worried about the offensive side. McRoberts does bring 3 pt range. That's why I was hoping for another penetrator who could make that pass to the corner when Wade isn't in.
I believe it was Sect who heard that Spo didn't like Beasley, but Riley did and wanted to give him one more year. I can understand both sides. Beasley is one of those guys that can get his own shot, which we obviously need, but his defensive rotations are often painful to watch.
It's not really screwing if he wants to do it. Like Section said waaay back, if Chalmers got the money he wanted he would go there.
Chalmers tweeted when he re-signed that he was happy to be coming back and that heat nation is still here, he's not getting S&T'd
@EthanJSkolnick 1m Most weren't in favor of this tweet on July 1st. If Cole is traded, are you OK with it now? https://twitter.com/EthanJSkolnick/status/484120864066007040 …
Yes..Spo hates Beasley. Riley still likes him. I would bet heavy money they offer James Jones a contract before they offer one to Beas.
@WojYahooNBA Caw-CAW. You're correct, Sec did post that. I just don't believe Beasley fits the "new" Heat as well as JJ would. According to Skolnick, the Heat are talking to JJ about a 2 year deal, but it's not a given he comes back, especially if LeBron calls to have him come to Cleveland.
I just want one more outside piece (outside meaning not on our team) and we can legitimately make a 5th straight finals.
Everybody wants to play with Lebron in Cleveland so bad that they all re-sign here in Miami. BTW..what a funny circumstance that Lebron tried to recruit the entire Heat bench over there and they are all saying...ah....no.
Wait… LeBron has called up more than just Ray Allen? Because Skolnick only theorized that he might call James Jones.
