Um Lebron is in the East...you won't get through it. The Bulls will be better, the Wizards better, Indy...maybe, the East isn't full of world beaters but the Heat without Lebron aren't winning the East.

There's no need to bash Cleveland every chance you get though.. I don't care what you think of Gilbert or whoever.

If you don't want people to judge the entire fan base based on some idiot spray painting over LeBron's face on a mural, then don't judge the crazies in Cleveland who did idiotic stuff when LeBron left. Pretty sure if it happened to the Heat with Wade back in 2010, we would have had some idiots burning jerseys and **** too.

No, Bosh's on court performance means that player is special. What baffles me is that you don't see it.

    Then again, you post this…

The Bulls cannot score. Their defense is probably better than the Heat's now that LeBron is gone, but the Heat offense is still better. The Wizards have likely peaked; they are not making a conference finals any time soon. Indy has flat out imploded.

A Wade/Bosh led Heat is a 3 Seed in the East, and I say that without knowing who else the Heat will sign.

Bosh is capable of carrying the team if we move him back to the 4, but if we ask him to continue mixing it up with centers I don't believe we'll get value for the contract we just signed him for. So the question becomes, who is out there to fill the void at the 5? Gasol and Greg Monroe are the only viable options that come to mind, and it seems the Gasol ship has sailed. Would SVG be willing to do us a solid by making some kind of deal so as not to tie up our cash waiting out the restricted FA period?

Good thing you have a max player in Bosh to get you the 3 seed in the current Eastern Conference.....thats what max players are for.....2nd round playoff exits......

It would be funny if as Lebron is about to sign the contract on tv that he stands up and gives a thumbs up to Gilbert who is smiling at Lebron but then Lebron turns the thumb upside down and rips the contract up with some wwe theme music going off with Wade, Bosh, and Melo doing the DX suck it to Gilbert then Lebron gives a stunner to Gilbert with the fans booing because they got screwed with Lebron signing with the Heat with Wade and Melo but then KD comes out from the crowd pointing to Lebron with him saying "I'll see you in 2016".

I would expect much less of that now that LeBron is gone. That takes away some of the small ball lineups, mainly the one with LeBron at the 4 and Bosh at the 5. Bosh now moves back to the 4 where he can be more prolific, IMO.

Max contracts are for retaining your Hall of Fame caliber players.

What exactly is your problem with Bosh? Is it his solid defense, or is it his ability to be an offensive threat from anywhere on the floor?

Yeah thats why Cleveland gave Lebron the max.....Bosh has a very borderline case for the Hall of Fame..very. Sorry but averaging 20/10 for toronto and 17/6 for Miami doesn't ensure you get into the Hall of Fame.

Bosh has had a better career than Kevin McHale so far. McHale is in the HoF. Both were the #3 option on championship dynasties.

Again: exactly what does Bosh do that you do not like? Be specific.

I like Bosh a lot. That doesn't mean I give him a 5 year 100 million+ deal. He's a good player, hes' not a bum, I never said in any post that I don't like him or think he's a dud, I just think the deal Miami is reportedly giving him is nuts. There is big difference between not liking someone and thinking their contract is terrible. I like Bosh, he's a good player and seems like a really good person but he's not a max player. Miami should sign some young players long term and invest in the draft and move on. McHale was a better player than Bosh. McHale was one of the best post players of any era, Bosh is good, no one would take Bosh over McHale cmon now, you aren't seriously making that point are you?

    Question for any cap gurus:

Is there ANY way Riles can throw 4/60 at BOTH Bledsoe and Monroe??

    Im thinking if the breakdown in 1st yr salaries is as follows;

    Bosh 20.6
    Bledsoe 13
    Monroe 14
Wade 12 (in this scenario Wade re-ups at 4/55)

Is this in any way possible?

Something being overlooked in the Bosh contract is that in years 3, 4 and 5 of his deal, the salary cap is going to BLOW THE EFF UP with the new TV deal. His numbers are going to look very reasonable down the line.

No, Jodie Meeks' contract is terrible. This is the second max contract the Heat has given Bosh. His original max contract was 6 years, $110 million to be a third option. Now he's making more (but not tremendously more YOY) to be the second and possibly first option. The only possible thing that might be wrong about this contract is it could potentially hinder flexibility in 2016. It certainly isn't bad based on the idea that Bosh doesn't deserve it. He does.

This is also correct. And it's worth noting that the Heat need to be very good this coming season, as the Heat's TV contract is due to be renegotiated. That's also a justification for Bosh's contract; if the team plays deep into the playoffs, the higher cash flow in 2015 more than offsets the money amount as well.

Basically, it's affordable in every way it can be considered except as a total numerical value relative to average US household income—but then again, even the NBA minimum salary looks exorbitant next to average US household income.

Ethan Skolnick is on twitter intimating that Riley is out to hit a Home Run, does this mean we have a shot at Carmelo??

I doubt we can jump into the Melo race this late but he hasnt made any commitment yet so who knows??

By god if Riley can pull this off though?? Build the man a statue and name the 836 or the Palmetto after the guy, after all we got the Don Shula Expwy down here, its only right we get the Pat Riley Expwy ;)

Id also rather have BOTH Bledsoe and Monroe because they perfectly fit our weaknesses while making us wayyyyy younger...but getting Melo would be Riley shooting the middle finger at LeBron and the rest of the NBA...the East would still go through the AAA

Forget a statue, or an expressway, if Pat Riley pulls off Melo, Wade, and Bosh after this dumpster fire that was lit today, the Heat should permanently change the team name to the Miami Rileys.

Hell, why not. While we're at it, change the Marlins and Panthers too and tell David Beckham if he wants any land for his soccer team he's going to have to call them the Rileys as well. If Riley pulls off this new big 3, all of that would be well deserved.

I will be forever grateful to LeBron for giving us great moments and delivering two titles, but it stings...as a lifelong Miamian, its like we are 2nd class fans down here...everything ive heard today is "how everyone is SOOOOOO HAPPY FOR CLEVELAND, poor then for being deserted, LeBron is the villain and Heat fans dont deserve him"

What the heck did we do wrong?? Did we burn his jerseys?? Did we call him a coward and a traitor?? Did we scream obscenties at LeBron and call his mother a whore?? No our ownership and fans have more class than Cleveland ever will, yet they DESERVE LeBron?? Give me a goddamn break. I was disappointed at LeBron because he never mentioned the City of Miami and the fans that had his back when the entire world was taking a big dump on him. Like he owes Cleveland anything?? For6iven?? LeBron must be deaf and blind to this nonsense...

Dude, it's killing me right now, feels like we Miami fans were dumped by this hot chick who you defended when she cramped up and couldn't perform or choked when she was suppose to swallow.

Hurts a lot, Lebron snaked his way out of Miami to Cleveland, he should have just straight up said I don't want to play here any more Riley and wished us luck so we could have went our way to finding a new piece without the panic.

No matter how rational you can be about it, in terms of understanding why LeBron did what he did, we still got rejected.

    We got dumped.

And that sucks. And we don't have to be happy about or throw our ex a party even though we appreciate and cherish the memories
