Yeah; tanking for two years, banking on 2016 would be THE. WORST. The Dolphins hiring back Jeff Ireland wouldn't even be worse.
Riley jetted on the Knicks once upon a time, no way he is surprised. He wrote the playbook. He might even be amused. I wouldn't worry about Pat Riley. The man has a plan.
Gasol fits so so well in either San Antonio or New York...both of which have been rumored about pretty heavily. Have to imagine those are more likely landing spots. Even OKC has been interested, supposedly.
Gasol will not happen, he had almost no interest in seriously coming here when Lebron was still on the table. Doubt he would now.
Tanking sucks when there isn't a hard plan in place. Heat tanked before, opened cap space and built a championship team. Colts sucked for Luck. Tanking without a hard certain plan, is no plan. Otherwise, tanking is good.
Ok..lets get some honest analysis. We keep Wade and Bosh...who else is available that keeps this team in contention for a World Title.
Agreed Nabo. 2016 only works if Bosh stays. The big names hitting free agency aren't as sexy for us when you really analyze the situation. If Bosh goes to Houston, why would Dwight leave? Durant will have his choice of OKC, Lakers, Brooklyn, Knicks, Heat etc. and we can't pin our hopes on winning that battle. And Rose still hasn't proven he can stay on the court.
Just got home, WHAT THE ****!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WHY!?!?!?!?! HOW?!?!?!?!?!? UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH bad enough the Dolphins suck, now the Heat too, ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
all this hero stuff is bla bla bla, he got 2 rings in playing 3rd option, he now has a chance to go to another team loaded with talent and get a max deal on top......bye bye miami
Nobody. Unless Carmelo comes but that's highly unlikely. But you could make a run at the restricted Eric Bledsoe, sign Deng or Ariza, plus you have the cap space to facilitate trades. Plenty of options, then you hope to hit on a draft pick or two and in 2016 you try and lure the big enchilada
For one, we need Chalmers back, because Shabazz sucks. Two we need backup SG because it looks Allen is bailing. We need 2 SF, both Batier and LeBron are gone.
Schematically I think the Heat are going to have a hard time playing small-ball without LeBron. He did so many different things that can't be duplicated. I'd say the most pressing need is a legit big man...a real anchor of a center. Especially if they have to guard LeBron in the postseason.
I agree that they need a PG. Can't count on Shabazz Napier in 2014. I don't think Chalmers is the answer there. The real question is what is the offense going to look like without LeBron. They can't run it the same way. Their list of attractive free agents seemed to assume they'd be running their offense the way they ran it with LeBron there. They seem to like Isaiah Thomas. Would he fit with a Lebron-less offense?
Can't bank on Oden but apparently he's been FULLY participating in all practices and workouts without setback. He could be a decent piece in a league with very few legit big men.
yeah its a good point, i always think whats the difference between making 130 or 90 million, besides your ego, do you reallly feel the difference in your bank account ?
David Aldridge confirming Miami has offered Bosh the full 5 year max. That's $30 million dollars extra and lifetime legend status. Or third wheel in Houston
Nick Johnson dominating again today. How the hell did the Pac12 player of the year last until the 2nd round? If Morey can complete this Bosh deal and Johnson can take this type of play into the season, he should walk away with Exec of the Year.
And by all accounts Bosh and his wife love Miami the way LeBron loves NE Ohio. The lifestyle/money choice is Miami. The basketball choice is Houston.
Well there is also knowing you leave your kids, their kids, and so forth more money that could last longer. I dont know about being rich so I cant answer that really.
The money is a legit selling point, but I don't know why you can't seem to see it from Houston's side that Bosh could be a lifetime legend there as well if things work out.
Nope, but I'm just saying he could turn out to be a pleasant surprise if he holds up the way he has so far.
I hope Melo joins the Heat and the Heat knock out Lebron in the playoffs, Pat Riley is right Lebron, you don't have the GUTS!
Yea, if you're trying to make it look like a slight, but that doesn't make it true. I could just as easily say he's the key to their championship hopes. And I doubt you called Bosh the third wheel while in Miami.
