The Fins can afford him, but he clearly wants to go to a contender. We haven't been a contender for a decade.

Maybe we get some sentimental leverage...

Fins can't afford him. We need to carry money over into next season. Our cap situation isn't in terrific shape. Ireland's 2012 spending spree will likely be purged in effort to make room. And even if money wasn't an issue, I think we should go with what we have. Andre Johnson won't make this offense any better. We need blockers.

I'd cry in happiness if this happened.

I don't think it's doable unless you find someone who will take Mike Wallace and let you get out from under his cap hit this year.

I don't think anyone ever looks at Andre Johnson's stats anymore. For some reason, people think he's been on some visible decline. He's suffered from Calvin Johnson-itis in that he's no longer the best out there, but he's certainly done a lot with unsteady QB play.

If there was some way to get him in I think you have to do it. Red zone offense immediately opens up, not to mention you add another guy with legitimate sub 4.5 speed who is good (not amazing) with the ball in his hands. I'd even be willing to eat the Wallace cap hit because I believe we have an out after this season. Trading him wouldn't save anything this year I don't believe as a function of the contract, and quite frankly, I don't necessarily want him gone.

Andre Johnson has a $15,000,000 cap number for 2014, $10 million base salary. We have just about 15 million in cap room. And we carried 18 million over from last year. So, -$3 million without the rollover. Next season, we have a roughly $145 million dollars invested into the cap. The cap in 2014 was 133 million. Obviously it will go up, but we're not exactly sitting pretty. Some guys will be cut to get money obviously (looking at Ireland's 2012 spending spree extravaganza) , but the point stands. We need to carry over what cap we have left into next season.

Not worth it. We need to carry as much money into next year as possible. He's not bringing us to the playoffs.

And the Texans would take a $12,000,000 cap hit for trading him. The cap savings are so minimal, it's a terrible move on their part. Texans hold all of the cards and Andre Johnson isn't going anywhere.

The Dolphins would only take on the salary which I guess is $10 million so they have the room. But they're saving up the space for a reason. They're anticipating when they need to give Tannehill an extension.

What's the usual age when WRs dropoff, sort of like 32 for DBs

Would be interesting for him and Finnigan to be on the same team after that brawl they had on national tv lol. Cant imagine they like each other very much after all the negative publicity that brought. Would be funny but probably not the best move for a team trying to get over locker room drama haha.

New England bound..makes too much sense..

They absolutely are in need of a skillset like that..

Brady is older, need to give him as many weapons as possible in the twilight years.

    Belicek Callahan connection.

NE is always the #1 trade destination for any player on the market according to every analyst. It very rarely happens. While it would make a certain amount of sense, NE doesn't have the cap room. And I think Bill Belichick is too stubborn to do it, even if they could tbh.

Andre Johnson wants to play with a legit QB for the first time in his career so he can contend for a championship. Can't say I blame him. He's a consummate pro and one of the greats of this generation, Seattle, New England, Carolina. Or maybe that organization will just hear him out in how poorly they've treated him and move him to Cleveland or something.

That would make a lot of sense but I doubt NE actually has the room for that. According to Spotrac they only have $6.0 million in space remaining for 2014.

AJ's $10 million salary is pretty big and they would need to be able to fit that salary in their books immediately, even if they re-do his deal. If the trade executes at 3:00pm and they sign a new deal at 3:01pm, they will still have had to squeeze the $10 million into their cap structure for that 1 minute or else the league will reject the trade.

There are only about a dozen teams that can even trade for Andre Johnson right now, without first making some salary cap moves to fit him in...even if they plan to restructure his contract.

The Dolphins are one of them as they have $15 million in cap space but as I said I believe they're trying to roll cap space forward in preparation for when they need to extend Tannehill.

The Jaguars are freaking waaaaaay under the cap and they're preparing as if Justin Blackmon will never play for them again. The Cleveland Browns have nearly the same amount of cap space and they have to be preparing as if Josh Gordon will never play for them again. Either one of those teams would make a lot of sense. As would the Jets.

Honestly the Browns should be pursuing this. The only receivers with any talent on there are Miles Austin and Andrew Hawkins, and everyone knows Austin can't stay healthy. They have like $28 million in cap space and a rookie quarterback that isn't the most mentally stable of individuals. He needs to be successful immediately or a sh-t ton of people will turn on him because of his partying ways, and in that situation with his mental stability he could end up a binge drinking depression drunk.

Tannehill is under contract for 3 more years, I hope he's not the reason we're not pursuing a trade. At this point Dre has hurt his own cause by going public, no one is offering fair value for a disgruntled 30+ WR. They might get some chump change offers but Houston isn't going to raise their skirt AND do it for cheap. It'll be Larry Fitz 2.0...

The reality is that Mike Wallace costs the same amount of money as Andre Johnson. Thats not good.

Why would a bottom dwelling team with a jacked up QB situation trade for an aging WR who wants out of town bc his current team has no QB? It'd be the same problem all over again.

    Agreed.

Which is why I wish they never signed Wallace, so they could be trying to acquire Andre Johnson right now.
