That article is a bunch of bunk. Culpepper....lets see he's so great that he's not even in the league right now !!! It's pretty obvious that the injury was just too much for him to overcome. He's another example of a QB getting more praise for the talent around him that allowed him to be successful, even if it were only for a few years...

We made a mistake by signing him to begin with, not by dumping him last year. The situation could have been handled differently by Rancam, but they were only trying to get something for him...

Goodbye and good riddance to another in the long line of Marino wannabees....

You probably should excuse Armando's ranting of late he has been hit the crack pipe a little to much lately. We were wise to dump C-pep and we should have never signed him in the first place over Drew B. Hind sight is 20/20 thay say. Oh well Dead topic, Dead Issue, Move on Armando.

Oh, it's Armando, then I won't even bother to click on the link. Glad you guys warned me. Not interested in anything Armando writes, he's the worst "sports writer" ever in the history of the profession. JMHO.

Thanks Anthony for the link, just not interested this instance. Culpepper is such a great
QB he's not even in the league. Glad we let him go. Pretty obvious from last year that Randy Moss made Daunte, not the other way around.

Saban is probably still having nightmares of Daunte haunting his nights & ruining his seasons & camps.

He was just too greedy, he should have kept Gus and signed Sage the previous year. Promoting that m0r0n from buffalo to be OC was his 2nd biggest mistake...

The best way to build a team is from the bottom up, and from the lines out.

Culpepper has always had an atty-toode problem. He was pampered with the vikings.

Actually the fact that Green bay offered him a million dollar contract and he turned it down says even more about what kind of issues & baggage he comes with...

that's kind of what i'm alluding to in the overall picture. i didn't say he couldn't get on a team if his life depended on it. I said he's currently unemployed, which is true. He's a prima donna that thinks he's better than he is... and because he's his own agent, he doesn't have a 3rd party to whisper things in his ear like "psssst! you're an idiot! take the contract!"

Sometimes I feel sad for Armando..when I know it is his blog that is linked to, I do not hit the link, quite simply, 75% of time he has no idea what he is writing about...A prominent member here has as there sig line Armando's statement that we have no interest in Jake Long at #1 overall..

    'Nuff Said.

He is a headcase (higher an own agent you freakin idiot) but we hired the lesser of the evils from Oakland. And remember, Culpepper came on way later than McCown if I recall correctly.

Att Comp Yds Comp % Yds/Att TD TD % INT INT % Long Sck Sacck/Lost Rating
    190 111 1151 58.4 6.1 10 5.3 11 5.8 46 14 92 69.4 - McCown
    186 108 1331 58.1 7.2 5 2.7 5 2.7 59 21 130 78.0 - Culpepper

Stats don't mean everything, but they mean something or we wouldn't keep them.

Amando is the personification of the PFT mentality which has taken over the legitimate press today .

Stir things up.If you throw enough stuff against the wall, some of it may stick .Even if it doesnt there is no accountability to worry about .

He was even called out by PFT for shoddy journalism. The shame of it.:wink2:

shame on those of you lumping Armando with PFT..... PFT is wayyyy better than Armando. Since Armando has a "blog", he can throw turds against the wall with absolutely NO accountability.

PFT at least cites references and posts links to articles. Armando just pulls crap out of his ***.

What might have been? How about a hell of a lot more botched snaps and fumbles than our rookie QB made and post game interviews full of bad grammer. That's what might have been Mando.

Actually, I believe Oakland won more games with Culpepper than they did with Josh McCown. Just to put things into perspective.

And I'm still trying to figure out all the hatred towards Culpepper from the 'Phins fanbase.

I guess he made Brady a lot better...also...Why???

Brady has averaged 25 TDS a Season...

Randy caught 23 TDs from good young Tom in one season...that is 92% of what TB has been averaging yearly...

Amazing that Randy dude aint he???:wink2:

I'd like to say I'm shocked some fool would actually recycle this "conflict" as a very poor excuse for timely material but were talking about Armando here.

That sums it up and is a strong justification for exactly how Miami handled the situation.

    Justification for what?!

We handled that situation in what was probably the worst way possible.

Lets not get back into an entire thread on this.
The Phins gave him an out and he decided to play hardball.

He meant nothing to this organization and did nothing for it.
He was injured then and still to this day is a shell of what he once was.
It's debatable if he'll ever heal completely.

Miami ridded itself of paying millions for a player that offered them nothing.

Who was ironically cut for someone being paid starter money who did nothing for us.

But I have to ask: what out did Miami give Culpepper?

This debate isn't going to go anywhere and there's no reason for it to.
    It is what it is.

I can say I'm 110% in agreement with how Miami handled the situation though.

IF, IF we didn't get rid of Culpepper (which I was on that side of) we wouldn't have ... given up a fifth round pick. And ... it is quite possible nay, it is 100% guaranteed, he wouldn't have been worse than Trent Green.

Hey, if Culpepper was here, no Green going down, No cleo lemon starting, no cleo lemon INT, and therefore no Ronnie Brown ACL injury. See, it's all Cam's fault.

    :D

We'd still have Cam as the head coach.

I'm content with where we have ended up instead. Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom to start over.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda....bottom line is that the move to cut Cpep was the right one for this team at that time...He didn't do anything for the organization except bite the hand that was feeding it and keep the bicycle on the sideline in good working order. He couldn't recover from the gruesome injury that he had and apparently still hasn't gotten back to where he once was...too bad for him, Cam, Saban and most of all we the fans...

This is ancient history at this point. We have a new QB controversy to be discussing this coming TC...let the games begin !!!!

Just add CP to the list of stupid moves that this current f-o is trying to avoid..

If this f-o signs Favre then they too should have the dishonor of being considered part of the last 8 years F***ups!

Doesn't really mean too much, I mean using your perspective I can point out that injuries played a major role in the Dolphins 1-15 season!

I think that a large percentage of this fan base wanted NO part of DC along with giving up a high draft pick.. I know that I didn't..

Culpepper did himself no favors when he kept running up the side lines from the end zone pointing at his knee and giving the OK sign after he scored...

Proves to point out what an arrogant jerk C Pep really is!

I'm sorry. Usually I'm on the side of the fans. But when I was at Finheaven during the Cam/DC situation, I've read many, many posts ranging from how they wish they could break his knee again to how they wish he would just die. And with Fin Heaven being the number one 'Phins site at the time, I tended to use the site as a barometer for the entire fanbase.

After all those despicable things said, I find it extremely hard to be mad at Culpepper for what he did.
