This is a popular theory among book readers who don't want to believe Syrio is dead. GRRM has said he's dead, though, or at least has come very close to saying it.
I have a feeling this is going to happen in the finale. Not an actual spoiler since I know nothing, like Jon Snow, but I'll put it in a spoiler tag anyway. Spoiler Multiple Lannisters are going to die, possibly even Lannisters killing Lannisters
For those that love GOT and the NBA... This is some seriously funny ****!!!! The epilogue from A Storm of Swords, the book that most of season 4 is based on, was left out. The extended black screen at the end led me to believe it was going to happen… and then the credits hit. Sorry, show watchers, but the ASOS epilogue is going to be spoiled for you at some point within the next 10 months. Going to be very hard to avoid.
Spoiler soo....Tywin had a rough episode. His daughter tells him she bangs his son and birthed his children, and the other son kills him, or at least tried to kill him. Not sure I can trust that Tywin or the Hound are dead for good. And curious to see what the hell is happening with Gregor and that witch doctor, and if it even has a place in the show.
I'll leave you with the cliffhanger, then. Take pity on the book readers; they had to wait 5 years for the answer. ASOS came out in 2000, A Feast for Crows came out in 2005.
Five books are out. The most recent, A Dance with Dragons, came out in 2011. The next, The Winds of Winter, is estimated to be released some time within the next 18 months. Then there's one more after that, A Dream of Spring. Recently there was some speculation by Martin's editor that there might need to be an 8th book. Martin had to respond, and basically said "there's no 8th book, I'm firm on this—until I'm not firm." So right now, two more books are left, with one of those last two hopefully coming soon. There are also some side books, like The Lands of Ice and Fire, and the upcoming World of Ice and Fire. There are also the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas that take place about a century before the main series begins. The new character we were introduced to tonight, the three-eyed raven, appears in the Dunk and Egg novellas. (Yeah, he's that old.) Expect the TV show to overtake the books; that is, the TV show will reveal the ending before A Dream of Spring is released. The TV show is already pulling content from the 4th and 5th books in certain spots, mainly in Bran and Sansa's storylines, which was done by cutting content to fast-forward. The show will probably compensate for this by either making up new content or refraining from showing those storylines very often. In fact, you can expect a lot of new characters and storylines starting next season.
Spoiler No way the Hound dies. I do believe Tywin is done, though. Truth be told, other than prancing about looking smug, he has added zero to any story arc since the great battle. It's time to feature more of the others. The end was epic; that choral/orchestral version of the theme was spine-tingling.
Spoiler The Hound is dead. Sandor Clegane may be alive. His fate in the books is up in the air due to some curious phrasing. Yes, Tywin is dead.
Those were alarms. Spoiler Also Varys doesn't leave in the books. He goes into hiding and reappears in the epilogue of ADWD.
Good finale, not great though. Too fast through these big events that happened, damn. Solid episode but could've been more, imo.
Spoiler I don't know; the Hound has been a very compelling character. This might be a case in which the show might deviate from the books in the interest of a better story down the line.

If anything else...........that was one beautiful looking episode. I kept having to pause just to marvel at the scenery.
Those who have read the books, If I haven't read the books, but have watched the episodes, do you recommend starting the books?
Yes, absolutely. Characterization alone is a great reason; books can flesh the characters out better than a few minutes of show per week can. There's also more backstory and additional characters not shown in the TV series. A lot of that backstory was written out in episode 10. The Jaime/Tyrion scene occurs much differently in the books, and they do not leave on friendly terms.
Sorry, no. Spoiler The Hound suffered the same fate and a similar injury in both the book and the show. There is speculation that after Arya left, a healer found him and saved his life, but he was no longer able to fight--no longer "The Hound". This speculation is based on events in A Feast For Crows chapter 31, specifically that Sandor is the unnamed novice grave digger. Show Hound is in the same situation as Book Hound and staying that way. Compound leg fractures will do that. And if you think a character's popularity means he's coming back, you haven't been paying attention...
Yes, the books elaborate more on the motives of the characters. For example, one complaint I had with the episode was the Tyrion and Tywin scene at the end. In the books, Jamie confesses to Tyrion the truth of his first wife, Tysha, as they escape. This enrages Tyrion and is what ultimately causes him to go after his father instead of just escaping. Without the confession, the scene felt petty to me.
It seems they substituted the Tysha motive with the "whore" motive. And how I guess that whole thing was a set up. I thought I remembered seasons ago, Tyrion mentioning how he was set up with a woman before and hurt deeply by is family orchestrating it all the while. The way the show played out was solid story telling IMO.
Poor Jojen, stabbed by a skeleton, had his throat sliced his by sister, and then was exploded by a fireball. It's shocking because he's still alive in the Books, but not for long I guess.
well i was way off in my predictions. A great season. The puppet masters (Littlefinger and Varys)... unsure which way these are going. Not going to read any of Des spoiler posts... epilogue... not reading it. I'll be able to stay away A great season yes... but the season finale felt a little crowded to me. Many story lines trying to get a final mention for the season. Now, I loved the episode prior, having it focused on the battle at the wall obviously set up the finale for a crammed affair. I guess you can't win either way. Only thing though... what the man under the tree (I'm sure there's a better name than that ).. he's the three eyed raven I guess... what he meant by Bran was going to fly?. Is he going to replace the three eyed raven since he can... what do they call it... see thru creatures eyes and control them.
