Dumbest comment by Van Gundy during the game was when Battier called a timeout after he grabbed a rebound and hit the floor but before the Pacers tried to steal the ball. He said "They shouldn't allow time outs when a player is on the floor imo". I was thinking what a stupid fool...he used to coach right?

 

Lol....where are the 3 guys who tried to call me out when I said the exact same thing about the Houston/Portland series? This is hilarious. I guess it's fair to call a spade a spade if it involves the Heat, but not if it's another team. For the record, I totally agree the refs screwed the Heat yesterday, but I want to hear what the 3 guys who tried to call me out have to say about what you just wrote. Come out...come out wherever you are.

 

I get that but we all know that is going to happen. This is why I don't watch the NBA like I used to a decade ago. They have almost lost me as a fan. But knowing the game is going to be called like that means you have to execute better. They have to rise above the expected BS calls or non calls they are going to get.

It'll happen again in game 2. I know it affects tempo, flow, attitude etc but they can't let it throw them off. They need to remain focus and execute. Anyway it's a 7 game series and they'll get some calls back. It's just how the NBA works. I think it's just all about TV revenue at the end of the day.

 

If you could call riding Patrick Ewing's forehead through ****ty playoff runs "coaching". Then yes, he used to "coach".

 

they are used to getting all the calls. they think the game is rigged if lebron doesnt go the the free throw line 20 times a game and if more than four fouls are called against them

i dont recall any of you complaining when the calls went against the nets. difference is i didnt ***** about it. ever since jordan the refs have sucked and you guys get the benefit in most of the games you play so if one game goes against you its laughable that you would *****. hell, one third of the free throws lebron gets are bull**** calls but that amounts to a free 5 to 10 points for you in just about every game you play. when you guys ***** about the calls lebron gets then maybe people will take you seriously when you cry about the refs.

nah its just you guys are the biggest whiners in the world about refs which is absolutely hysterical since your team gets more calls than any other. phinsarewolves got ripped for blaming the refs by heat fans. and now the same people are complaining about refs. face it you lost. refs had nothing to do with it. pacers came out on a mission and the heat came out half assed.

The Heat get more calls because they're the best team.

 

The discrepancy in calls for the pacers and not for the heat causes the issues. And it was a rather large discrepancy, ask Paul Peirce he was keeping a tally from home.

Lebron James is 8th in FTA per game. But #1 in Paint attacks per game.

Dwyane Wade is 32nd in FTA per game. But is #2 in Paint attacks per game.

Harden is #2 in FTA.


So the answer is....The Heat don't get ANY calls. They just don't, and their game is designed to get to the line.

The real answer to the macro question is that Houston is the team that gets the calls.

 

But.

They DON'T get the calls. That is the point. Which makes them a REALLY GREAT team.

Sure you can. Aggression and attacking the basket is what generates fouls. Thats what the Heat do best. They should be getting 2x as many FTs as their opponent regularly.

Lebron hacks arms and hands constantly on defense and is never called for it. His one arm push off drive to the hoop is almost always called on the defense.
