Dude, you're so wrong about Lana. She is from Russia, like the WWE says, not Gainsville. She even talks Russian on WWE TV not soccer mom. Duh.

And who knows about the Batista story, it could definitely be a giant work to get the internet smarks in a rage. He's might legit be upset because he was promised the WWE title at WM and obviously that didn't happen. As far as is in ring work, the guy is perfect fine as a heel, his character never worked as a face after his first run when he turned on Evolution. His character was going to fail as a face from day 1 because he was pushed down the fans' throats as the savior when they all wanted Daniel Bryan, especially after the Rumble thing.

I wish I could take credit for this, but I was listening to the Grantland wrestling podcast from last week and the two guys were talking about Paige and how they think it's unbelieveble that the WWE didn't have her dye her hair red and bring her in as Sheamus' sister since she's European and has extremely white skin like him. I literally started laughing at the thought and then stopped because I'm actually shocked the WWE didn't do that or even think of it. Trust me I'm glad they didn't because it would have been a terrible idea but its something that just makes so much sense that you have to think someone dropped that ball.

Also Dave Meltzer was talking about the Daniel Bryan/Kane angle from last Monday with Bryan/Brie running away and Meltzer said that it was basically a terrible idea to have the face champion running away from Kane and that he thinks Bryan is too nice of a guy to say no to angles pitched at him. Meltzer states that if something like that was pitched to Austin, The Rock or Triple H they would say no before the pitch even ended. Meltzer says that Bryan is very well liked at the WWE because he's very laid back and goes along with everything but maybe he needs to stand up and say no once and awhile. Jericho also mentioned on his Podcast on Wednesday that he hated the angle as it reminded him of Zack Ryder a few years ago that ended up killing his career and thought that Kane is the wrong opponent for Bryan to be wrestling. Anyway can't say I disagree with either Meltzer or Jericho there. A face champion should never be running away from a heel, its better for the champion to stay and fight and even if he gets beat up it's better than running away.

Yeah I can see that with Bryan.

I mean in the AA can you imagine The Rock running from Undertaker/Kane/DX?

I can't imagine a reason why any face should be running from a heel ever. Even if it was someone like The Undertaker or Vader in their prime. A heel running away? Of course, makes sense and puts more heat on him but not a face running, it only hurts that character.

From what I read, it wasnt as much as Bryan running from Kane, it is Bryan leading his wife to safety.

Even so, the Macho Man never ran from Jake "The Snake", he took that snake bite like a man!

Seriously though I thought the angle was pretty poor and didn't help anyone involved.

Apparently Sheamus turned heel on Monday when he kicked Ambrose in the Battle Royal? I guess no one else realized it so expect him to officially turn soon. He also went on a mini anti fan rant on Twitter to start to hint at it.

There is a report going around that Daniel Bryan has a neck injury and will be sidelined for a few weeks. Hopefully if true he won't get stripped of the title, sucks that nothing has really gone right for him, minus his marriage, since he won the title at WM.

Notice the positioning of Daniel Bryan's interview, 8:40ish, he doesn't get a full entrance and he's suppose to be the #1 guy in the company.

He should be opened the show with that announcement or at least got a top of the hour spot.

I absolutely love what the WWE is doing with The Shield right now. They are making all 3 guys look incredibly strong, they are positioning them like stars and letting them get the better of Evolution.

And on the flip side the WWE is doing absolutely no favors with Daniel Bryan. Granted their hands were tied with his wife and the unfortunate passing of his father but they have done just a poor job with him since his title win. There was no reason to once again have Kane beat him up and drag him out from the back. Bryan is the world champion and just gave his "goodbye for now" speech. I don't see the purpose for the beat down.

Word is the WWE is waiting until after Bryan's surgery to determine whether or not they will strip him of the title.

Bryan had surgery today, is expected to be out 2 to 3 months but the WWE is hoping he will be back for Summer Slam. The WWE will announce what they will do with the WWE title on Monday. Poor Bryan.

I imagine they give it away, Bryan comes back and claims he never lost it in a match. He is still champion. Rivalry ensues.

Makes sense. The WWE can either run another tournament to crown a new champion at the next PPV or have the MITB winner be the WWE Champion with the winner facing Bryan at SS.

Either way can't see how they can keep the title on Bryan if he's going to be gone for that long.

Sheamus' heel turn is also being put on hold with Bryan out, he's still expected to turn any the end of the summer.

It'd be good if the title was put on someone like, Barret, since there's history there.

I kind of think they need to put the belt on someone established already. They are doing a really good job building up the newer generation but none of them are really ready for the belt at this point. Last thing you want to do is put someone in a position they aren't ready for and that flap it could kill their heat/character for the long term.

    Some Friday morning WWE news:

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to work Summer Slam and Night of Champions PPV. The WWE is trying to load up that show because it is the first PPV that will air after the initial 6 month subscription period ends so the WWE wants to get people to resubscribe to the Network.

WWE felt Adam Rose's debut was a flop. I agree with them, the gimmick is both silly and stupid.

If Bryan didn't get hurt his match with Kane at Payback would have been a Buried Alive match.

According to Dave Meltzer Triple H has been put in tough situations with talent as he tells them the direction their character/angle is going and then Vince changes his mind and Triple H has to go back to the talent and explain the change and why. Vince still has the final say and changes his mind frequently.

Make the WWEWHC a interim title and have a match for it (batista/orton)....giving them both their rematch and setting up Bryan to return for a unification match at SummerSlam.....update the new WWE logo, and have a new unified undisputed title belt all at once.

Instant feud, and instant main event.

So the WWE lost 350 million yesterday as their stock tanked 43% because of their new TV deal and the Network only has approximately 660 subscribers. So if you don't think heads are going to roll and employees are going to get fired because of this you obviously don't know Vince. And yes this is going to be bad for the product.

Your off by a factor of 1000 on the subscriber numbers. (I think you left the k off.)

They're paying the price for being early adopters, we have to see if they reap the rewards later.

Yes I forgot the K, they have 660k subscribers right now. The problem is investors and the WWE themselves thought they would hit the 1 million mark by the end of the year and projections don't have them hitting it. The WWE also thought they would have gotten a much better TV deal than they did and investors see it as the company isn't as strong or how the leverage they once did.

The problem is the WWE needs the Network to work or they are screwed. They can't go back to the cable companies with only having PPVs on those companies' systems because they would have no leverage and get screwed on any payout deals.

I hear Bryans out past Payback. Think they strip the title off him today? Punk was champ and missed a PPV with injury without being stripped, so we'll see.

WWE doesn't know when Bryan will be back. It's said he could be out 2 to 3 months but it could be longer.

As far as what's going to happen with the title, RAW is taped from the UK tonight so you can find out by reading this:

Stephanie McMahon comes out and says she's not stripping Bryan of the title but wants him to come to RAW next week to surrender the titles.

So basically nothing was resolved at the taping probably because the WWE wants/needs more time to see how long Bryan could be out for.

Yup, I feel like he said it once and it got a reaction and now the WWE is forcing him to use it all the time. He's a heel, there shouldn't be sing-a-longs with the crowd. How are they suppose to boo him then?

I hate sounding old but man the heels today suck compared to the 80s and 90s, no psychology or cheating or anything to get heat from the crowd. They all want to be the "cool" heels.

Ric Flair is scheduled to be taking a physical with the WWE to comeback in a manager type role. Flair wants to work with Dolph Ziggler but that was apparently shot down and is expected to work with The Miz (because lord knows that sounds like a great idea and has money written all over it). I seriously don't know why the WWE has been down on Ziggler for the past year. You'd think with Bryan out, Ziggler would be the perfect replacement because he's seen as an underdog, the fans like him, the fans want to cheer for him, he's young, he's the in ring skills and is good on the mike. Heck he's even an original "WWE only" guy too.

15 years ago today Owen Hart died. I still remember "watching" the scrambled PPV on TV and hearing JR and King have to tell everyone he died from the fall. Just terrible still can't believe it was only 15 years ago. RIP Owen.
