Do they think the draft is that deep that we can make players out of 4th rounders? Love to know the hit rate on 4th rounders.
So we gained an extra 4th and an extra 5th. There's nobody I wanted amongst the picks thus far so I like these trade downs.
You have no clue what player would be available at 20, that's why. I don't know which of your opinions is more absurd a pre-draft deal at 20 or that they would offer us less to move up higher.
You're clueless if you think second and third rounders are career back ups. Do you know Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor? Tom Brady ring a bell. Dude quit being so negative. If Hickey's guy is still there at 63, then I think he made up for yesterday's blunder.
I agree. There is a reason the better players are usually drafted earlier in the draft. I can understand teams like the Seahawks moving down in the draft because they can afford to draft players who might take a few years to develop. The Dolphins need immediate help and the further they trade back, the less likely it is that they are going to get a player who can come in and contribute this coming season on anything, but perhaps special teams.
I don't know much about the remaining players, who do you think we are targeting or who do you like at our spot?
I didn't realize Miami did not have that many picks this year. I can dig the trade backs. Consensus says this is a deep draft.
Right, a tentative deal. Do you understand the term? This is effing hard to understand. Offer us their spot and a 4th. We say no. We pick. They offer the next team the same deal. The team says no. They up their offer to a 3rd because its getting more desperate. They say ok.
I don't have a big problem with these trade downs, although some talent at needs has come off the board since we traded back with SF. Like the 1st trade down. Let's not pull a Pats, and trade ourselves out of the draft. YESTERDAY...and YESTERDAY'S pick was the time to trade down.
So is it worth moving down 13 spots to pick up an extra 4th and 5th rounder? We didn't have many picks so the logic seems legit. Opinions....?
I don't know who their targeting, but I would love WR Robinson at #61, G Turner in the 3rd and LB Brown and RB Seastrunk in the 4th. I don't know that they'll all last, but that's a wish list.
Wait.... we were offered a 4th rounder to trade down from pick 19, rather than a third? Honest question.
You don't know what happened. Stop acting like you do and blasting everyone who doesn't believe your bs.
No, no. I was speculating. Sorry for the confusion. It was just an example of what may have happened instead of the unconfirmed bs others are saying.
No there's really no reason to believe that. It's pretty obvious that the trade offers were fairly standardized.
Where are those people who were telling me Moses was just as good as James. Seems like the rest of the league is agreeing with the Dolphins.
If we had a top tier GM, I might agree with you. Unfortunately we have no idea if Hickey knows what he is doing as the person responsible for making these selections. He has NEVER had control over a teams draft before. Perhaps he knows what he is doing, but only time will tell.
I like Skov, but I heard he was dropping. I can't recall if it was an injury concern or something else. But IIRC he's looking at the 5th or 6th now.
I bet you don't believe in protons and neutrons since you can't see them lol. The writing was on the wall, we were offered 27 and a 3rd. It's not BS, it's common knowledge. Your view is in the minority, which is why I am standing up for what really happened.
NFL has Montcrief from ND as the best available WR. http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?81777-Official-DAY-2-draft-thread!!/page16
