What's up homeslices, merry Christmas, happy new year, are we ready to see what this new GM is all about?,ready to welcome our new aqua colored blood? We'll see what happens, no reason to stress, let the board come to us. Whucha Y'all cooking out there for today and tonite? I'm nervous..hold me.
Don't be nervous. What's the worse that could happen? Jackie Shipp Jamar Fletcher Eric Kumerow Yatil Green John Avery Jonathan Martin Eddie Moore Ted Ginn Billy Milner There's nothing bad that could POSSIBLY happen.
My biggest fear is passing on a talent like Ebron or Evans for an offensive linemen.............. if we trade up and those two are on the table and we take a tackle instead... I'm going to go crazy...
it's why the draft is the most important date of the year, the fate of the franchise, the dynamics, can be positive or negative depending on the talent evaluator.. I'm in a glass case of emotion.
My Dolphins mock. We trade with the Saints. 1.27-Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia 2.50-Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss 3.81-Trai Turner, OG, LSU 3.91-Telvin Smith, OLB, FSU 4.116-Kenny Ladler, S, Vanderbilt 5.155-Storm Johnson, RB, UCF 5.167-Zach Kerr, DT, Delaware 6.190-Blake Annen, TE, Cincinnati 7.234-Andre Hal, CB, Vanderbilt
I don't get why no one and their grandmother doesn't mock Manziel to the jaguars, it's not like they need a Qb, or relevancy.. I make that pick all day, publicity and exposure can go a long way in improving the culture of a franchise.. Go for it jags.
I take exception to Teddy Ginn comments, did more good than Jake Long. Let's go, let's get ourselves a playmaker instead of Shaziers and Martins of the world.
From Chris Wesseling on NFL.com - Should Hickey succeed in trading up, one source tells The Herald it likely would be for versatile Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin. A more realistic scenario is moving down, perhaps with right tackle prospects such as Ja'Wuan James, Joel Bitonio, Cyrus Kouandjio or Morgan Moses as late first-round targets. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport has repeatedly dropped James' name as a player the Dolphins covet. If Hickey is forced to stay put at No. 19, he might have to save the offensive line for the second round. In which case, the Dolphins reportedly "love" Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier and also have USC wideout Marqise Lee and Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller on the radar. The bolded options I like. The others, not as much.
What time does the actual picking start? The draft program here starts at midnight. Trying to decide if I should keep myself awake. I'm not sure my pupils will like me tomorrow. Actually, I'm not sure they liked me today so whatever. I say trade up. Let's go wild for Watkins, or exciting for Evans. Hickey has no reason to trade down or out. He's on a one shot deal. He needs winners now. Not winners three years from now. His contract isn't long enough to justify building for the future.
They will have the opening, they will parade the prospects, then some hall of famers, minor business, I think all that will take about 30 mins. I expect the clock to start at around 8:30 Eastern.
Hopes and Dreams (Vague Outline) Trade down and select one of the better 2nd tier lineman. Add another lineman within the first 4 rounds. Possible Safety of the future, to replace Delmas if it doesnt work out with him. Depth at Linebacker (Smart, Attentive) and Reciever (Big and/or Fast) Blocking TE with solid recieving ablility. Power RB Developmental QB (Rounds 5-7) Developmental D Lineman (can play inside or outside)
I will never forget Cam Cameron's statement to the press about the Ted Ginn pick and his whole family! What exactly did Ted Ginn's family do for the Dolphins again?
Which Evans are you referring too? Certainly not Mike. He's long gone by Miami's pick. Possibly top 5.
I hate that fit, personally. I can't imagine Johnny giving much of a sh-t doing his job for that franchise. He'd give maybe 80% for that small city with a small market and no fans. Kid thrives off bigtime football culture, spotlight, being the man for hordes of fans. Jacksonville is a far cry from College Station.
Gotta give Hickey credit...the draft experts don't have a friggin' clue what the hell the Dolphins want. Shefter says we want to trade down for possibly Brandin Cooks. Glazier said we might be interested in trading up for Zack Martin. Others have said Shazier, Mosley, James, Moses, etc. This is one of the most intriguing drafts I can remember.
Selfishly, I would love to see Miami draft Paul Richardson from the University of Colorado in the 3rd if he is available. Likelihood of him slipping past the 49ers twice is slim to none though. Combine Stats: 4.33 40yd 2.53 20yd 1.53 10yd 38" Vert. 10'4" Broad. 7.09s 3-Cone Height 6'0" Weight 190 (self reported a week ago) Excellent route running and he can go from 1st to 5th in 2 strides. Need a big play WR to learn from and eventually compliment Wallace. He was about the only reason to watch CU football last year and made a True Freshman QB look much better than expected.
Someone fertilized that egg and carried it lol. Jets sweep was one of very few good Ginn moments as a Phin.
Anyone hoping some team will be wanting to trade up with us at 19 to get ahead of Arizona at 20 for a QB? Man I hope so.
As is my draft day tradition... I'm making a huge pot of my homemade chili (spicy!), got an order of 50 Triple Threat wings from Bru's Room on order, and have my wife making her delicious cheese dip. Have the fridge stocked with beer and am having some friends over. My current diet gets put on hold for draft day. After all... its a holiday!!!!!!!
Ted Ginns number was #19. Dolphins 2014 draft pick is #19. Marino had #13, today is the 8th. Wait that doesn't work.
