if the skip process is used, there needs to be a post in the draft thread that a pick was skipped so that the next team realizes they're not actually on the clock and doesn't make the mistake of posting their pick.
You were skipped. Throw a pick up before I do for you. Im about to throw a pick up for New England since they were skipped too.
Matt, I saw you awarded Ahmad Dixon to someone in the Draft thread - I believe he was already selected in the 5th round.
Ravens did PM me last night apologizing for the missed picks. He was on vacation, unable to get to internet connection.. unfortunately, I just made his second straight missed pick, his remaining picks are forfeit. It is what it is.
I'm not understanding your post. If a team is skipped (because their time has expired), the following team is on the clock regardless of what is posted or not posted in the official draft thread by the committee or myself. Thought about implementing a skip process for just the 7th round, but I don't see the point in it now as it is inconsistent with how the first six rounds were conducted. Teams not making picks before their time is up, will be skipped but eventually (maybe not straight away) the committee will select for them. A skipped team can always beat the committee to making their pick after the fact... but that's taking a risk. Last night, Chicago were fortunate.
Baltimore, Detroit, Carolina and New England have forfeit their remaining picks, as per rules of missing two straight picks.
Im saying that if a a team gets skipped, it needs to be made aware to everyone else in the draft thread so that the next team doesn't immediately submit their pick thinking it's their turn on the clock when in fact it's the team that got skipped. Got it? For instance: let's say Chicago is on the clock with Philly and Pitt to follow. If Chicago gets skipped and Philly puts its pick in, there needs to be a message in the draft thread informing Pitt that Chicago is on the clock to prevent them from submitting their pick out of order.
But that's not how it works. If Chicago runs out of time, Philly can make their selection, once Philly makes their selection, Pittsburgh can make theirs as they are the team "on the clock." Chicago can make their skipped pick at anytime (or until the committee makes it for them). If I'm the Pittsburgh GM, I pay attention as much as I can to how things are going a few picks ahead of me... but once Philly has made their pick, I know I'm on the clock, if Philly has not made their pick by their allotted time, I know I can make mine. Pitt should be watching Philly.
Why wouldn't Pitt be able to pick in the scenario? Chicago is free to make their pick at any time regardless of how many teams "skip" them, while Pitt should only constrained by whether the team in front of them has selected or their "on the clock" time has arrived.
Damn. Both my thanks and apologies to the committee for making my Patriots selections. Procrastination got to me on those bulletins, but I knew the rules.
Bingo and its no different then the regular draft. FYI, I have suggested this idea to Paul for next year as opposed to committee picks.
Oakland sent me a bulletin with two players, both of them had already been taken. The ghost of Al Davis is alive and well in Oakland So rather than just select, via committee for the Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiderzzzzzzzzzzz. We are going to skip them for now (I've sent him a PM).
I'm too stupid to figure out how to post a video on this thing, can somebody please upload a video of Charles Ross. I don't want you guys to see him because I picked him here...I think he would replace Daniel Thomas very well, here in Miami.
Find the video you want, copy the URL, press the 2nd to last icon on the toolbar (right above where you type the message the last one looks like a quote bubble, the 2nd to last says insert video), paste the video and then hit post message
Bit of an out of left field pick. At the very very least this guys going to be an excellent special teamer.
just the two..... although I don't think this counts as a BK, not unless no one else was looking at Thornton.
Well, if anything, it's nice to know that someone else out there likes the same types of players that I do. That's an awkward sentence now that I think about it.
I didn't think it was that far out of left field. I considered him with my pick. Another solid pick IMO.
With my last pick, I take the best punter in the draft. And that was when I had a 5th round grade on him.
Sorry bro. But I needed a punter, and Pat not only has a huge leg, but he's fast enough, big enough, and strong enough to run and cover his own punts if need be.
I'm awarding guards for the rest of the draft to teams that miss their picks. In honor of Richie Incognito.
