Because he was the starter last year....and by starter cash I meant more than 795......I wasnt saying like 5M or something....795 is a steal for him if he can stay healthy....

Good for Rios! As a fellow Belen Jesuit Alum I wish him success as a Dolphin. Glad he is home.

Here is some perspective from a Lions season ticket holder. I go to every Lions game (home and most away), their practices and events. So if you'd like, here's a serious Lions fans take on him.

Fox is a very good player. He has looked good in the limit times he's had the opportunity to play. He is a starting caliber OT that can play both RT abd LT. He won the starting RT spot last year beating out two pretty good players in Hilliard and Waddle. He lost his job when he became hurt (once again).

The problem with Fox is he just can't shake the injury bug. He's a solid player but what good is he when he's always on the IR.

I think this is a good signing that could pay off in the long run if Fox can ever shake the injury bug. He's a young talented OT.

However unlike Delmas, Fox hasn't proven to be very reliable health wise and hasn't given anyone reason to believe he can ever be a healthy player. He gets hurt at the first hint of contact. It's a shame as Lions fans had very high hopes for him.

The Lions were forced to give up on him after 4 injury plagued seasons. Our loss could be your gain. I wish Fox well and hope he pans out for you. However he shouldn't be counted on for anything other than depth until he can prove he can stay healthy enough for a starting role.

By the way what's up with Miami picking up the Lions free agents? First Delmas then Fox and now Burlesons in for a visit.

You got a great player, teammate and leader in Delmas. Nate is also another vocal leader. Both are high character guys. I'm guessing the coaching staff is trying to change the lockeroom culture?

    Good post. Thanks.

As for picking up Lions FAs, they just happen to mesh with our needs. Clemons at safety was allowed to walk after being mediocre in his time here, so Delmas was a good move. We needed quality starters and depth at tackle, hence Fox, and we lack receivers as Hartline and Gibson were injured, hence the interest in Burleson. We're also 20-30 players shy of being able to run an off-season program. We'll be bringing in plenty of others as well.
