Colt Lyerla???? The quitter??? The felon???

Do you really think the much maligned Dolphins are going there??

    Get real.

Too bad we won't have a shot at TE Amaro...I work with 2 of his uncles and have grown fairly fond of him (at least what they say about him) over the past year. I think he's gonna be a beast.

That said, aside from the TE pick, I like the mock. Normally I'm against first 2 picks going to the OL, but ours is so atrocious in the long term, we need some quality back-filling.

    You know what?

I disagree with the idea we should not build the OL out completely.

We have some weapons (who doesn't want more?) but heck, the QB is not going to function well without a great OL. That's the bottom line. Give him a great OL and the QB and the RBs perform better. Might as well get that as set as possible.

If you wait, you risk hurting the future of the QB. You both potentially waste some of the years of his play and if it is not radically improved from last year, you risk hurting the QB's confidence.

And most teams with great OL play are winners.

I love OL in the first two picks (I might trade down for Sua 'Filo rather than 19). But, I like it.

And if we got a RB and TE later on - I'd be very happy.

The other factor is that RBs (unless they are true studs) are not guys that need to be drafted in round 1 or 2 to get a good one. You just have to draft well.

    I like it.

If we want to go bpa, we need to sign Wharton and Winston before the draft. More likely we sign Wade Smith and Ryan Harris though.

Whoa! Winston is done isn't he?? Isn't he the new NFLPA head rep?? He has become a politician. I don't think the Dolphins are going there. Man he was baaaad last year. I live in Phoenix, I saw almost every game the Cardinals played. It was very unpleasant watching Dansby tear up the league.

Ross recently said openly that the Dolphins were drafting the RT position. Why he would make that public I have no idea. If it isn't a smoke screen then it is unbelievably stupid, even for Ross. OK, so they want to go young at RT. I see no reason why they refuse to sign some decent depth at the OT position.

Nate Garner is a mediocre backup OG and an abysmal backup OT. Nobody knows what Dallas Thomas really is.....nothing most likely.

Makes me wonder who they may really be targeting and where as far as RT, but that is probably it's own thread.

Winston did well as recently as 2012 in KC. He is best in a zone scheme. Arizona used a man blocking scheme, did they not? I read somewhere Winston was having trouble adapting to their scheme anyway, for that reason. He performed well under Benton in 2011 and prior. He performed well under Bicknell in 2012. I do not expect us to sign him however. Though if he is physically sound, I would. I expect the most likely veteran stop gaps will be Wade Smith and Ryan Harris, because it has been mentioned already by Barry Jackson of some interest there, and both played under Benton last year and prior.

I really feel like this draft is going to be very "unsexy" for us. Philbin and company don't like guys who break the mold, and they've recently thrown support behind Lamar Miller so the chances of us going big at RB early in the draft seem quite low. They seem content to let Miller have another year to prove himself.

So going with the oline early is probably fairly accurate. Maybe the sexiest thing we'll do is grab a interior linebacker.

Based on last the games we lost year due to an ineffective oline, that kind of draft sounds sexy as hell to me.

Forget skill players for a year. Let's finally finish building a solid foundation. If you look back at who we beat last year, I don't know how the prospect of a good oline doesn't give everyone wood.

Not a terrible draft, but I got to say going back 2 back OL in the first two rounds would be an epic epic fail.

Sua' Filo - is going to be a stud guard, no doubt in my mind. But you don't pick guards in the top 20 of a draft when you have needs elsewhere. If we were to trade back into the high 20's early 2nd round and draft him I am more than fine.

Tiny Richardson just doesn't impress me once so ever. And after investing a 1st round pick on a OL, you can't draft a RT in round 2 and hope to be anything more than mediocre.

With more pressing needs at : RB, ILB, WR, TE, CB - those are all positions that will have higher quality players on the board than Tiny Richardson...truthfully his teammate JuWan James is a better fit at RT for us and a better player.

If we address OL in round 1.... we shouldn't circle back to OL until the 3rd round or later.

Skov is a player that interests me and worries me. He hasn't worked out or run this offseason which could mean his isn't going to test well or he isn't healthy which are big concerns. But, look at players like Kiko Alonso, nothing spectacular in the athleticism department just a pure football player. Either way Skov would be a welcome sight for his aggression and leadership, getting him in round 3 would be a steal, don't think he lasts that long.

Andre Williams in the 4th I'd pass...a true workhorse but I don't see his game translating well to the NFL. In the 4th there are better game breaking backs I'd like us to take a stab at.

Coly Lyerla - sorry no way this happens. Too many concerns and we just had a NFL player quit on us during the season...why would we bring in another.

Sunseri - like this pick for depth and special teams. Smart player who could develop into a role on this team.

I don't know that Richardson really fits the profile for what this team is going to do on the offensive line.

no way I take that cat in he 2nd round,I simply don't want that type of athletic ability on my team..it's brutal..

He's also a case where the bio mechanics of his physique are a detriment to his game.

None of these positions are bigger needs than OL.
