Steam is Valve's digital store for PC games. It gained popularity when it became the only way to buy Half-Life 2 at launch, and a combination of great customer service and awesome sales like the current have given it a pretty good rep. I have about 160 games in my Steam library. It's a hybrid of Amazon's digital PC game download store and Xbox Live. The reason you don't know about it is because you live under a Microsoft branded rock. It's a decade old! Launched on Linux earlier this year, and Valve is releasing a Linux distro called SteamOS that will run on dedicated boxes as well as whatever PC you build and boot it on.
Steam daily deals today: Assassin's Creed 4 25% off, Portal 2 75% off, Resident Evil 6 70% off, Hitman Absolution 80% off. Morrowind and Far Cry 3 Blod Dragon are 5 bucks each for the next 4 hours. And NBA 2k14 is $15 for today.
eShop is Nintendo's equivalent of the PSN Store. The credit is good on 3DS, Wii U, Wii, and DSi. You'll need a Nintendo Network ID if you want to create one pool of credit for multiple devices though. I downloaded Link Between Worlds on my 3DS from the eShop and Wind Waker HD on my Wii U from the eShop.
I know what the eShop is, but unless the game is an eShop exclusive I don't have a reason to buy it digitally.
Ah, I see what you're saying. No, there are only a few eShop exclusives, but the fact that the games are available digitally is nice.
Borderlands 2 only $6.99 from Microsoft store - http://www.microsoftstore.com/store...&ClickID=dccyonomhmm0mwbnxtcombnohzr0ztt0zhhx
Newegg has discounts on preorders of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. $30 for the 360 and PS3 versions, $40 for the PS4 and XB1 versions.
Cool deal to get CIV 5 + Gods and Kings expansion, CIV4, CIV3 + other stuff for $8.24 total. The money also goes to charity to fight hunger. https://www.humblebundle.com/
If you can obtain a coupon for Gamer's Club Unlocked for $30 (normal price is $120), you can get two years of 20% off new game purchases at Best Buy. People who have extra coupons are willing to take less now because the coupons expire on the 10th. I traded a $25 amazon gift card for a coupon.
Some pre-order stuff.....No MLB though.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html/ref=pe_590690_112779630_pe_row1_ptr/?node=409566
Ubisoft games are 35% off on Steam. Includes Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, etc series.
Walmart has it too for same price. Tempted to bite. Gonna go ask some questions in Titanfall thread...
Even if you don't want to play Titanfall, just sell it and you'll make about $30 on it. That brings the total price to $420—smoke weed erryday—which is negligibly more expensive than a PS4. Nice way to get a One for lower cost if you're absolutely set on it over a PS4.
I'll get them both eventually. Unless one of them really ****s the bed. I'm not a fanboy of either console - as for the last generation thought they both had their pros and cons and played them both almost equally.
So far with this generation, I don't see the need to get both. There aren't enough exclusives either way.
I was anticipating eventually both might have a couple exclusives I would need to play. But yeah could also end up being the case that there really aren't many notables for either long term. All the more reason to wait a little longer and figure out which one is better I guess. Right now seems like Xbox One has the best next generation game in Titanfall but the PS4 sounds like the better gaming machine overall. Decisions Decisions...
Nice deal here, IMO. GMG has a preorder for the Steam version of Arkham Knight for $50. Then use voucher code PLOCVS-G2T5YX-DATY6M to knock another $10 off the price at checkout for $40 total, no tax or shipping. When the game comes out they'll email you a code that you can enter into Steam to download. Edit: PLOCVS-G2T5YX-DATY6M is actually a 20% off code, so it's good for games besides Arkham Knight.
Thanks for the heads up, just pulled the trigger. After using gift card and credit card reward points spent $13 out of pocket.
Some good 3DS price drops. Mario Kart 7, Donkey Kong 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, etc dropping to $30 from $40.
I think Gamer's Club Unlocked is on sale at Best Buy this week for $60. You get a two year membership when you but it, and it includes various perks such as bonus reward points and 20% all new video game purchases. So it pays for itself after 5 games.
If you buy the MK8 Wii U bundle, you get a free game download—Pikmin 3, Zelda Wind Waker HD, NSMBU, or Wii Party U. Granted, it'll be cheaper if you buy the Wii U for $180, then get MK8 for $60 on top and redeem the offer that way.
GoG.com has Magrunner: Dark Pulse available FREE today only. http://www.gog.com/?utm_source=news...ect&utm_campaign=2014_summer_sale_special_day
Good luck saving money and/or being productive this summer. http://steamdb.info/sales/ Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
Judging by now no one has said a bad thing about Skyrim ever, and how you can mod the hell out of it… I don't see why not. But wait to see if it goes on sale for an even steeper discount as a flash sale. You can always just buy it on the last day of the Steam sale if it doesn't discount further.
Thanks for the advice! It is a daily deal now - won't this price not last? I guess I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. $5 seems like a steal for Skyrim.
