Yeah well....he doesnt get my credit for that. Took the easy way out (lap band).....instead of working it off.

Stewart has some injury issues and was cut because he couldn't pass a physical. Rarely ever practiced last year.

Anyone think Steve Smith ends up in NE now that Carolina cut him? They were on his list of trade partners.

Smith would be a tremendous accusation. That would give us 3 pretty good offensive lineman. With still the draft to go I'd be pretty confident.

EDIT: definitely meant to say acquisition.

At this point I expect every available star to be a Patriot.

Steve Smith doesn't really worry me too much... Patriots offense relies on 3-4 receivers he's not going to completely change their offense like Randy Moss did for them. If they were to get a Hernandez type tight end to pair with Rob, then I would be worried.

I honestly dont see Smith going anywhere but Denver. Hook back up with John Fox, they have a #1 in Thomas (Smith has ALWAYS wanted a true #1 so he can move around and play slot more)....Peyton, and hes already being paid 3mm by the Panthers regardless, so he can take vet minimum and win a championship, why not?

I'm not defending Rex, but have you ever known anyone with a lap band? From the people I have seen, it's definitely not easy.

I never thought of that, and it makes a lot of sense. What about Seattle? He'd be an instant replacement for Golden Tate, though there's that "true #1 problem" there.

Yes I have. You don't dramatically lose that weight naturally. It's a lot easier than working for it. Which I went from 295 to 208 naturally. Hardest 2 years of my life. But enjoying it now and I'll never go back. Fact is there are studies proving that a lot of lap band and gastric bypass patients gain back their weight again as the reasons for the initial gain was not changed. Just their appearance.

The people I know have gone to doctors who have fitness centers, meaning they have the lap band AND work out. I'm not sure why anyone would think having a restrictive band put around a major organ would be "easy," but maybe you guys are just more hardcore than I am.

Seattle makes sense too. Might wanna play with Pete Carroll and Wilson. They have a running game. And they're an obvious contender with a chance to stick it to the panthers for cutting him. I also see 49ers as he's from California I think.

It should take about 1.5-2 years to lose that much weight with a lap band; if you're doing it faster than that your doctor is a quack.

N.B. I'm not trying to sell the procedure, it's just that "easy" is about as far as you can get from what it looks like to me.

Point is. It's easier than doing it themselves. If it wasn't they'd not pay the money and have surgery. They'd get on some shorts and start walking everyday.

The reports I hear regarding Steve Smith is that his likely landing place is Baltimore. They sure could use him.

    *Easier

And exactly, why would anyone have a band put around an organ? Bc it's easier.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

"Put this band around ypur organ and don't do anything because in time you will naturally lose weight"

    Is easier for everyone than

"Make life changes, eat better, exercise, drink water, cut out certain foodss"

Some people just realize it means nothing if you do it the first way.

You're assuming everyone has money, insurance or can get gov aid for it.

For people that can't, working out is easier than finding all that money.

I don't think you have an accurate understanding of the lap band surgery, WADR. You have to make all the same changes for it to work, it just works faster. You can not eat whatever you want and lay around with a lap band.

Alright but that isn't what we are talking about. Sure I agree with that. We are talking about the weight coming off being easier though.

I know, I said the lap band was easier in terms of doing actual work to lose weight.

I just think some people play up how hard it is to make lifestyle changes.

    It wont stay that way.

Lap band will let you lose the weight quickly but it won't solve the problem long term. You can get fat again when everything adjusts, it will just be more dangerous because it will stretch your stomach even worse.

My father had it at age 69. Went from 320+ down to 210 or so. Took about 2 years. And it took another 6 years for him to gain it all back.

    Anyway, back to free agency!

I think its very hard for people who are ignorant of the world around them and lack consciousness of their bodies natural feelings to make changes. I think its very easy for those who are the opposite.

We already have a Steve Smith type player in Wallace... what this unit needs is a red zone threat... Ebron or Evans @ 19.

I think he means that gamer attitude. A guy with edge, a guy who fights week in and week out, a leader. That's the appeal with Smith, imo. Fiery veteran leader with a hell of a career under his belt.

And regardless, Steve Smith is 10x more physical and tough over the middle than Wallace has ever been.
