Indiana is a bit overrated. Theyve sucked against everyone over .500

    Wouldn't mind watching Heat-Rockets

Yeah, i enjoyed that 3rd quarter. Indiana is not ready for the Heat. Miami should cruise to the finals. Hopefully, my Rockets will be there too. The only western conference team i fear is the Clippers. We cant seem to stop Blake Griffin. We might have to go to a bigger lineup because Terrance Jones has gotten abused all 3 games by Blake. Motiejunas actually does a pretty decent job on him though.

It's bad. If Miami had to go thru the West winning in the Finals may not have happened.

That's a bit presumptuous since we basically own every relevant team in the West the last few seasons.

I was speaking on the difficulty of going through a playoff bracket in the West compared to the East. Not that Miami couldn't, but there would be no slacker series like NY or ATL.

Remember we didn't tell the East to suck though. Just playing the hand we are dealt.

My god you'd think Chicago was relevant the way their fans care about beating us

This is pathetic. Hope we get them in the playoffs so they can see how worthless their team really is. They need a reality check.

We've given them a reality check every time we meet in the playoffs and it hasn't changed anything. The one game they take every postseason from is is their championship.

Perhaps they just love their team? Every team gets excited about beating the heat... Why can't you guys just say hey... They outplayed our team today. Last time chicago blew when they played in miami and I was able to say wow we got worked. Good game heat.

Because reality is that Chicago would be lucky to win one game in a playoff series against the Heat and they will treat it like a series championship when it happens. What part of that statement do you feel is illogical? The last three years has born this as a reality

Im not contesting that they can beat Indiana or miami in a seven game series but anytime the heat lose I never see a fan just say damn we got out played. Im certainly not acting like it's a championship win... Just happy my team won.

I think that's the rub against Chicago. You'd think the team had won the world championship every time they beat us.

Hate and rivalry aside the two teams are just flat out fun to watch play.

    GG Chicago,

Noah's ugly mug and the rest of their team loves beating Miami. They played good D down the stretch, Miami got too passive and Tony Brothers did what Tony Brothers does.

I do hope we meet in the playoffs :)

Really for me it's the team more so than the fans. When you lose a game to the Spurs you shake hands and go to the locker room. When you lose to the Bulls Noah does somersaults and tries to crowd surf.

I really really really hope that these Phil jackson to NY rumors are true. He might be one of about 5 people walking the face of the earth that could tell James Dolan to butt out of the basketball side of things and remain employed. Dolan prevents himself from winning anything with his meddlesome tactics and control freak ways. I suppose even an ignoramus has to listen to a man with 11 championships! Though if anyone is too stupid to do so, it might be Dolan.

Supposedly it largely depends on Anthony staying which is unusual since Anthony was never a Jackson favorite nor does he really fit a triangle offense. But i wonder if theres a larger plan at work there. Obviously jackson likes winning championships, hes not coming if he believes Anthony is leaving or Dolan wont keep his nose out of Jacksons way. Id be really interested to see who Jackson would want as coach.... (JVG or Thibs please!) :)

How is Phil going to stop Dolan from medlding when Phil is nessled in his cabin in Montana? Or his beach house in Playa
    Del Ray?

You went through the absentee executive thing with Parcells and the Dolphins. Why do you want it for the Knicks?

His knack for being a winner like Riley, is a glimpse of hope NY needs. Doubt he will be as hands on as Pat but winning people with winning attitudes should be VERY welcome in the Knicks front office.

He's never performed in this role though.

At least Riley also coached when he got the Heat GM/President gig. His fortunes as a coach were directly tied to his skills as an executive.

Riley also was allowed carte blanche to remake the organization in his image and his philosophy which endures to this day.

I'm not even sure what Phil's overall philosophy on team building is (since he never actually had to do it) and I have serious doubts he'd be able to implement it via long ditance calls and video conferencing.

    But hey, enjoy the hope.

For starters IF he will do it from the other side of the country is nothing more than speculation, secondly you never knew how good Riley would be as an executive before he actually became an executive. And finally the point you're missing is it's a proven winner who may step in for proven losers. It worked out for Jerry West, it didn't for Michael Jordan....we do not know if Phil will be good or be a bust, but we do know we are going nowhere with the current structure.

    His fiancee lives in LA.

He spends most of his time in Montana and California.

He hasn't lived in NY since he played for the Knicks and the farthest East he's lived in the last 25 years is Chicago.

And more importantly, all the reports are that he is going to be allowed to essentially "work from hom" most of the time. He probably wouldn't take the job otherwise. It was one thing when he was he was going to take the Seattle job if it existed, which is a short hop to Montana.
