Oh no I get the reasoning on your rnd and why you'd say that. I just don't understand how it played out that way even with the explanation.
No I realize that a DE skills are more than just pass rushing but you seem to have forgotten that talking about a guy you traded. Than it was ok when you went after a guy.
19M is a lot IMO for a guy who has reached his potential, 16.9M is high even for a guy who still has a high ceiling but what I and most others besides yourself recognize...is one DE was the beneficiary of having the best DE in football on the other side while the other was the best DE on his team. Don't regret either move in the least bit.
I never gave my opinion on either player. I actually think Johnson is better myself, But again your sole argument before that Long didnt deserve the money was because he only had 8 and a half sacks.
Didn't say he didn't deserve the money, was merely surprised he was bid up so high. One of the reasons I went hard for the younger, better DE. Long is nice player, he will suit up 16 games every year and be solid for another 4-5 seasons. I wasn't pounding down doors too trade him, but when you can acquire a special player like Demaryus Thomas you do it.
Im welcoming Terrance Cody to the Packers @ $2,000,000 in snickers bars. Steve has the date wrong in the thread -
I hate running the Jets as well. Its impossible to trade anyone not named Mo, Richardson, Harrison, Milliner, Davis, Coples. Pretty much everyone I have to keep. Though I did trade Mo because I wanted to move Coples back down to DE.
I bet. I don't think I could ever bring myself to be Jets GM. I would wanna destroy the team too much
That sucks Paul. You can hand me GM duties while you're gone. I swear I wont abuse the power at all. Forced trades is a thing right?
Don't worry too much. Sorry you're having a bad day man. I was a bit mad at first I admit but now I just want a good explanation of the outcome. Its not important to get to right away and I'm not trying to cause you stress. Like I said via PM I just want to understand so we can have a precedent for future similar scenarios. I had a s****y day too at work too so I somewhat understand being stressed/mad.
here's what happened, and because I contributed to this **** up, I'll be as detailed as possible... Jacksonville bid on a grand total of 8 players between last night and this morning. As follows... note, he's already the highest bidder on Michael Vick until (and this is where I messed up) he was out bid @ 8am this morning) @ 11:51 PM, Mike Mitchell $6m (still the highest bid) @ 7:51 AM, Chad Rhinehart $1.25m (highest bid) @ 8:18 AM, a min bid on a player $495k @11:20 AM, a min bid on a player $495k @ 11:26 AM, Jmarcus Webb $750k @ 11:48 AM, Jerricho Cotchery, $600k @11:54 AM, a min bid on a player $495k at which point, I happened to notice his bid count (BOY THAT WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE OF THE DAY). I incorrectly thought he had 8 active bids at this point, but he really only had 7. I originally told him his Cotchery bid was invalid and that he needed to go in and retract all the other min bids to keep only 4 active bids and be within FA bidding guidelines. To which he replied his Vick bid was not active as he had been outbid. So with him in the process of retracting the min bids, he would have a total of four active bids only, if I gave him back his Cotchery bid, which I did. I'm not going to go back and change what I said now. If Tennessee really wanted Cotchery, they have had ample opportunity to make a new bid. But FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!! -ONLY MINIMUM BIDS CAN BE RETRACTED -YOU MUST SUBMIT A NEW POST IN THE THREAD WHERE YOU ARE RETRACTING YOUR BID, STATING SUCH -DO NOT EDIT YOUR ORIGINAL BID POST IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM -YOUR MINIMUM BID PLAYER MUST BE RETRACTED BEFORE GOING OVER THE BID COUNT LIMIT OR ELSE ALL SUBSEQUENT BIDS WILL BE INVALID!! -ANY INVALID BIDS WILL NOT COUNT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. IF CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE CLEARED YOU AND YOU CAN MAKE A BID AGAIN ON A PREVIOUSLY INVALID BID PLAYER, YOU NEED TO MAKE A NEW BID (NEW POST) Does this make sense? Any questions, please let me know. And Yes I'm still at work... boooo!!
Bears have sign Aubrayo Franklin DT $495,000. They were horrible at stopping the run last year, he can help with that. The bears still might make a move to the defensive line but are happy with the talent, especially the young core that has been acquired: Desmond Bryant, Clint McDonald, Stephen Paea, and Ziggy Ansah They will team up with veterans: Julius Peppers, Red Bryant, and Dwight Freeny Champions are being built.
Fair enough. At this point I didn't want you to reverse it, just explain. Thanks. Though the ample time isn't a fair assessment. I made a minimum bid for cap reasons and couldn't go higher. I wanted to steal him Also just for book keeping and thread ease for the people running them I dony think he's officially retracted them.
well that is what you get for always thinking of yourself... I'm sorry to you and the Jags GM for my outburst earlier.
You sure were! Take it back! I retracted my bids. I just edited the original posts rather then posting a new. Because I don't play by anyone else's rules but my own. Not even my own.
