People can say what they want about Dave Wannstedt Nick Saban and owner Wayne H. but would this crap have festered like it has ? I say no ,

when three olinemen are giving this team a black eye then that explains how bad our oline is /was .. NO HEAD COACH worth his weight would be so out of touch so I think ts time to stop giving Philbin a free pass .

I have a lot of good memories but not of this decade . some of you guys can yell fire at the media but the media didn't do anything to give us a black eye .

I agree with sports center that our team had no leaders , none , zilch , they all said that Philbin should be fired as should the entire oline and the oline coach.

I hate the new logos the new traditions of being in the headlines for the wrong reasons. I am officialy pissed off . don't be surprised if we lose draft picks I don't think we will lose very many but if I am Goodell I take away the first and second draft picks and bar the team from the playoffs next year if elgible and this should set a example so this wont occur again .

the Miami Heat does things the right way , The Thunder does things even better, the Seahawks and 49 ers do things the right way and therefore the Dolphins should do things the right way and eventually will at some point but right now this team is being labeled a circus and draft picks are already commenting on not wanting to go to Miami . its upsetting to know that veteran players are avoiding us like the plague but is even more upsetting that the future draft picks are planning on holding out should Miami drafts them . the names were not released but around these parts there is a lot of talk . So don't think this scandal wont affect us at draft time because its possible that our troubles will resurface.

Unfortunatly ...I dont get the feeling that any of this will go away without a thorough cleaning...but....I dont see it coming. Youd bar us from playoffs? We seem to have taken care of that ourselves, no?

Bar Miami from the playoffs for punishment? Dude this isn't College football it's the Nfl, sure it's run like a college team. Lose our 1st and 2nd round? So Miami should be punished more than a team caught cheating then a team who had players call each other names? Listen Philban is claiming he knew nothing, hey it works for Obama didn't it? Come off the ledge and think positive. We are officially rebuilding for the fourth time in the last six years.

Oh I don't know Fin D. At least those teams were winning and had won recently when their scandal hit. Dolphins have sucked for a long time now. Much easier to swallow and forget a scandal when a team is at least successful.

Also, their scandal stems from gaining competitive advantage and pure desire to win. Dolphin's stem from pure stupidity and douchery. Seems this scandal is at the very least, more embarrassing.

    - Bounty gate was a deliberate and team sponsored attempt to hurt other players and end their careers.
    - The Pats were caught cheating at the height of their dominance. It was so bad the evidence was destroyed.
    - Wells has gone out of his way to let people know there was no ill intent on the parts of Cogs and crew.

Only one agent (Michael Sam's) has said he does not want to deal with the Dolphins. I hope that agent is not some powerful agent in the NFL.

Yeah and none of those put in question the character and leadership qualities of players, nor the competence and control of the coaching staff. Dolphin's does.

The other two came from successful franchises trying to gain competitive advantage in order to win. Dolphin's came out of sheer stupidity and institutional lack of control from a franchise that has been mediocre at best for a long time now. Forgive me, but Dolphin's scandal appears far more embarrassing, regardless of it actually is worse or not.

So cheating to win or aiming to maim players is justifiable having a couple of *******s in the team is punishable, please how can you even compare.
I clean house, Philbin not knowing clearly tells that he never had the pulse of the team, it's not like the OL was playing well you think he would be all over that, Sherman sure got lucky getting fired.

I'm not justifying squat, not am I saying one is worse than the other. My opinion is Dolphin's scandal is more embarrassing because of the nature of the scandal, and the situation of those teams vs the Dolphin's. That is all.

Um yes they absolutely did. Coaches were involved with (and spearheaded) both scandals. Its more embarrassing because you're a fan of the team.

The intent of the other two scandals was malicious in intent and this was not.

Can we please remember that Philbin did get Martin help for the issues Martin's camp told him he had? The other stuff was hidden from Philbin by Martin. I think its absurd to expect someone to know something another person is specifically hiding from them.

Do you think your boss knows the content of all your texts, emails, phone conversations and friendships?

I think if I'm some no name agent, I would keep my mouth shut. But then again I don't know who the agent represents besides Michael. I just don't want it to influence other agents and potential prospects/free agents from coming here.

I understand your point, but IMO what's happening here is more embarrassing. Whether the coaches here knew or not, it is embarrassing both ways. If they knew they endorsed it, if they didn't they appear to lack control and leadership. An important point in the comparison is the others scandals came from trying to gain competitive advantage and it worked. They won. Dolphin's scandal came from what? Just a bunch of stupid morons shooting themselves and the team in the foot. There is no positive spin for this team.

I'd rather be seen as a cheat, but a winner, rather than be seen as a stupid moron, and also a loser.

Btw, I don't think the Saints and Patriots fanbase were overwhelmingly embarrassed by their scandal. IMO they were more angry with the league and defensive, because they argued they got caught for something all teams did. Dolphin's fanbase has every reason to feel embarrassed today.

Then we'll agree to disagree because I cannot see being less embarrassed by coach sponsored cheating or coach sponsored maiming of other players.

I ask again, who here thinks their boss knows all of your phone calls, texts, quiet thoughts, conversations that happen in the workplace and outside of it. I'd venture that every single one of us doesn't even know all that stuff for our significant others/children/family/friends/etc.

The same Seahawks that have lead the league in players busted for banned substances in the past 3-4 years?

The same 49ers who played Aldon Smith the day after he wrecked his car into a tree and was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana?

What we have here is a perfect storm. To make this happen, you need a stupid, psychotic, sadistic, totally unprofessional a-hole (Incognito), a kid from a much higher socioeconomic and academic background who is unusually sensitive because of low self-esteem, who is afraid to say anything to anyone but his mommy and daddy, who has no prior experience with barbarism, and who also happens to be a bust. You also need an equally stupid and unprofessional position coach, who gets involved as if he were a player and lies about it later (an embarrassment to the Marine Corps, by the way, even if he weren't totally incompetent).

This is unlikely to recur and can be addressed by firing those directly responsible and a change in policy. No need to fire the head coach or the other two linemen who participated; just fine Pouncey and Jerry. The NFL knows that this franchise is struggling, and Wells threw the dolphins the bone that their steps to address the situation are "commendable." That's code for no lost draft picks, no barring from the playoffs; nothing that will hurt the competitive ability of the franchise.

The Pats have potentially fraudulent Championships because of Spygate. We will never know the extent because the evidence was destroyed. If the evidence was made public the Pats would have potentially had Championships taken away, the NFL knew what it was doing by not putting that evidence out there, it would have called into question the outcome of 3 Superbowls. That would have been the worst scandal to hit any professional sports league since the fixing of the World Series like 100 years ago. Our scandal isn't even remotely close to that, I mean its not even on the same planet as that one was. And that one involved the head coach and potentially the front office maybe even the owner.
Ours was and is really embarrassing, I'm not trying to sugarcoat it but its not even remotely like Spygate. IF I were a fan of a team that cheated to win a Superbowl and tainted it for me I would be much more pissed off than a couple of idiots harassing a player. This issue is serious and I wish it would be resolved but at least we don't have Superbowl wins that we can't be sure are real or not.

Meanwhile, we have actual video footage of a group of coaches plan and order a "code red" on a soft player. Then we see on video that "code red" carried out. And not a single sanctimonious person on this site or in the media cried about it. In fact, many of those same people here would welcome that coach to this team with open arms.

I am sick of the crying and self-pity from Dolphins fans.

It's a ****ing football team that no matter how much they hurt your little feelings in one way or another, you still have ZERO control over.

It's like people crying that the sun didn't come out today and expecting that to change tomorrow bc they reeeally reeeally want it to lol Comical.

I don't even see how this is up for debate. The Pats were recording other teams' signals and play calls, perhaps videotaping practices during the week if the Super Bowl. The Saints were offering money to guys who injured other players and their HC was breaking into the training room to steal Vicodin.

A Chiefs player murdered a woman and blew his brains out at team facilities, a Cowboy committed vehicular manslaughter. Aldon Smith is buying illegal weapons, his teammate is cracking bottles on another teammates head. The Seahawks lead the league in suspensions for PEDs.

Youre absolutely correct to say some of our fans feel Martin v Cogs is worse only bc Miami is their team. Can you even imagine how bad the crying would be if Koa Misi had murdered his child's mother before committing suicide in Davie as Philbin and Ireland watched?

Dont forget about the illegal weapons charges. Fire Harbaugh he had to know that stuff was going on and fire the GM he shoulda known Smith had issues.

And definitely fire Belichek, how could he not know his star TE was a gang affiliated, drug dealing, murderer, using Connecticut streets for his real life game of Grand Theft Auto?

A couple of players being immature dickbags doesn't really bring embarrassment or shame to me. If anything, the only people other than Richie, Jonathan, Jerry and Pouncey who should be ashamed of themselves are the media dorkwads who can't wait to weigh in with sanctimonious commentary about Joe Philbin, Jim Turner, and everyone else stuck in the middle of this ****show.

The Patriots head coach and offensive coordinator had an accused murderer now in jail right under their noses and yet no news about it, no questioning the "Patriots Way" I'm sad this happened to the Dolphins and sadder that Philbin isn't gone, I wanted Ross to succeed but it looks to me like there's something missing, the vision is soft, you don't put up with this kind of management failure,
Philbin should say, the buck stops with me and resign or at least offer his resignation.
His staff should have informed him, they didn't because they didn't think anything of it, Philbin brought in the coaches that created the environment where this type of culture flourished.

No. The assistant who was terrorized by Incognito and his merry band of idiots. By far that is the worst thing that has come out of the report. You can try and rationalize the teammate vs teammate harassment, but there is no excusing the racism and bullying of the Japanese-American assistant. What purpose did that serve? Did he need to be toughened up too?
