Why again is it a bad in the eyes of public perception the way Richie is handling it? Or why is the way Martin is handling it viewed as a positive?

Richie comes off as a guy trying to scream from the roof tops of his innocence, and Martin comes off as a coniving snake trying to game the system.

If you are looking for a job, it's probably not wise to do what Richie did.

Not only does he just look bad, espescially considering nothing new has happened in months, but the suicide comment is just beyond the pale for most people. Forget Michael Sam, this guy is a distraction.

As for him screaming his innocence, if he was so concerned about that, why did he accept his suspension. I understand that he eventually got paid for some of it, but by accepting the suspension, it's at least a tacit admission that you did "something" wrong.

And let's face it, he's done plenty of things wrong.

    Ok, you don't.

    His future employers might.

FinNasty's support isn't going to mean much when he can't catch on with a team next year or gets tagged with another suspension for violations of the personal conduct policy.

It doesn't matter what Ritchie says to me because thank god he's not going to be a Dolphin again, guy sucks at football. But he is an idiot because he has no job in the NFL and teams will get turned off by what he said.

That's fine. I'm not his employer... and most of the people that have heard this story and/or formed opinions about him based on the story aren't either... which is why he is making the statements he's making.

Also, why again is what he's saying viewed as a negative for a future employer anyway?

Depends on your involvement I suppose, he hasn't removed 40% of the Dolphins OL mid season yet. That's really my issue.

My issue is Dolphin related. I believe a lot of his texts and ranting can come back and bite the Dolphins in the butt. If he just intelligent he could have not only minimized damage to himself, he would have protected the Miami Dolphins from further embarrassment and maybe even punishment.

Richie played his cards poorly from start to finish. If he truly felt he didn't do anything wrong in regards to Martin, he should of been more aggressive in his self defense. Starting with releasing the 1,000 texts (w/names of outside parties redacted) prior to his first interview when this matter went public. He shouldn't have chosen Jay Glazer, who no one cares about (and who richie has an obvious friendship with). And he shouldn't have chosen Fox, who no one cares about. This was an ESPN story and they're the only legitimate sports network. Even if he was pissed at them, it's irrelevant. No one else could drive the 24/7 sports media cycle Richie needed to clear his name. Instead, he chose a minor league "reporter" in Glazer, for which no one watched, and those who did, didn't care because Richie didn't bring credibility (evidence) with him.

Now, all these months later, the story is on life support. Fans either don't care or don't want to hear about it anymore. The conversation has peaked and he lost, regardless if he was guilty of bullying or otherwise. I think these new tweets suggest two things.

    1. Richie wants to be purposely over the top w/ Jon Martin to recapture feigning fan, media, and NFL interest. The only evidence available (texts), seems to directly contradict Jonathon's claims. And yet, when released, it didn't recapture the headlines. Subsequently, it didn't budge the needle on the original story/perception. Obviously, outing Martin as suicidal is one way to create interest. In the end, Richie just looks like an *******, even if he is justified in his anger at Martin. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Richie's twitter tantrum makes Martin look more sympathetic to the general public.

    2. I have to imagine Richie doesn't think he has much of a chance to play in the NFL in 2014. If his career is over, it's time to scorch the earth and ensure Martin's is well.

In the end, he's sounds like Mommabilly. While everything MB claimed appears to be true, no one gives a **** because he's a raving dip**** without the social or communication skills needed to clarify and/or persuade the public. Like father, like son.

I just love how Hartline gets called out for laughing at that awful, text. Incognito just keeps sinking and grabbing his (soon to be) former teammates with him.

Hartline is probably texting him to shut the eff up...which will be released for public consumption in about three weeks.

Furthermore, never hide a body, much less tell a secret, to Incognito. Jesus, the man sings like a canary

And what appears to be the truth, but don't let that stop the narrative I suppose.

You can spin **** however you want, but I'll tell you right now that there better be a mega bombshell that I'm not seeing or even being hinted towards because as an attorney I'm laughing my *** off at all this layman ridiculousness.

    "Oh it's INCOGNITO'S LAWYER"
"Man I bet Martin's LAWYER MOTHER had him do this"

Either Martin lied to his momma (sorry, his COUNSEL) or she's brain dead and opened her son up to a WORLD of pain.

Must have missed that. Either way, is still hilarious how quick Incognito is to out others and group them on his side. My guess so Hartline and others would rather not be associated with any of this at this point.

Why haven't we cut ties with Richie, he's never coming back here and he's always referred to as "Dolphin Richie Incognito" or something similar. Cut ties and move on, I'm tired of both players at this point. Richie is not all that smart, I wish we could move on from him and Martin later on as well.

Not sure why anyone would have that perception of Martin and his side. They have bungled this from the start and he is coming out of this looking like a weak, bitter loser whose selfish actions were not only disingenuous, they brought down his team and teammates. Their attempts at controlling the narrative have generally blown up in their face and made them look small and stupid.

Ok.....then why didn't we officially cut ties with him months ago? And why is he still referred to as a Dolphin anytime he's mentioned?

Because, near as I can tell, he traded off a season long paid suspension, for the right to an immediate hearing under the CBA.

I assume the Fins were very reluctant to allow the hearing because they are relying on the Wells report to find evidence to support the suspension ex post facto. And Richie would have had 4-5 weeks unpaid instead of two if he lost the hearing.

Because it's easier than Former Dolphin Free Agent.

I would. Depends on the ultimate desired outcome. If the goal is to try and execute some sort of lawsuit, they did well. If the goal is to actually fix the problem so he could have gone on to continue playing football... they couldn't have done a worse job.

What do you feel the desired outcome was for his advisors?

  30. I have not read the whole report yet (still working on it) the biggest question I am looking to have answered is if the people that are accussed of being the bullies talk to eachother the same way they taunted Martin. IMO if they all talked to one another that way then it is less of a big deal than its being made out to be. Im not saying it was not still inappropriate just that it was not malicious intent. If they singled out Martin and ganged up on him then it is more problematic.

I am still early in the report but I will also say that if Martin pushed back more I think it would of went away. It does not sound like he had that push back trait in his personality and that being the case it was a mistake to of drafted him.

I have not read anything that I view as something the NFL needs to take draft picks over. I think the Dolphins should pay Martin his full contract and move on from a mistake. The NFL should make a special exception and make him an unrestricted FA and let the rest of the teams hire him if they chose to do so.

He could have handled this in a much quieter and private manner. Instead he decided to make things public which have embarrassed him, and made it much more unlikely that he will ever play in the NFL again.

Incognito has handled this poorly as well, but at the least he's now the poster child for meatheads across the globe. He resonates across America a lot more now.

RI is in the "Samson Satele" league for me...aside from Pouncey, he's been the best OL we have had in several years...or at least the most consistent. The fact is that he's a mediocre starter...Just like Samson Satele was for us several years ago when everyone thought it was a mistake for us to let him leave. He was the best we'd had at that time, save for Carey...That didn't mean he was very good, just better than everyone else...just like RI...not a great player, one who likely, had none of this happened, would not be a priority for us to re-sign... With things as they are, he won't be back here and that's that...but JJ did just as well as RI did last season...??

All of this could be avoided by just simply acting like a human being instead of an animal. If Incognito wanted to improve his image, instead of doing that **** special on Fox which proved nothing, all he did was showcase his gigantic head. He could have simply offered a public apology and said some bull**** like he's going to seek counseling/therapy and right now he would be on the radar as a C option free agent to get. Even now he keeps displaying he's an animal and it wasn't too late to publically state he is going to seek help for his behavior and actually get help and then be considered in free agency. What a mess that guy is.
