Yeah. I did not want to give him up, and didn't think I'd get an offer that would get it done, but MostBlitz was set on getting him and did a good job making me pull the trigger.
I agree. I think Van wants to build from the ground up, and if he uses his picks correctly his roster would be dangerous in a couple seasons with a ton of cap room. In a hypothetical multi-season thing
San Fran just traded their entire draft, in essence, for Josh Gordon, and traded Kaepernick. Who the hell is going to throw him the ball?
FWIW I liked the Foles deal for you. Everyone whose read my thoughts in the NFL forum and draft forums knows Im not and never have been a C Kaep fan. Im not a 100% sold on Foles either but I flat would take him over Kaepernick. Theyre both system qb's though. Foles did squat under Reid and Reid is a darn good QB guru.
It's always a risk when you take a guy who definitely got a bump in production out of a system. But given Harbaugh's record with QBs, I have a real hard time believing he can't make it work with a guy who threw 27 TDs and only 2 INTs. I honestly believe if this move happened for real both QBs would thrive with their new teams.
A system doesn't turn you from a garbage quarterback too a 27 n 2 guy. And Chip Kelly system as always been the read option, Foles is just a QB who has developed very well. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I never said Foles was garbage. Actually when he came out I said I had an early 3rd round grade on him and wouldnt be surprised if he went in round 2 and many here took a fat dump on my assessment in club. To me, Foles has always been a guy with tools but when he came out I felt like he was close but something was missing. Kelly found it for him seemingly. I said he hadnt done anything under Reid. And he didnt. He was turnover prone under Reid with a below par completion rate which were the 2 biggest knics along with his footwork in college. I believe he also spent time with Drew Brees last offseason (they went to the same HS in texas) A system can certainly alter completion percentage and turnover tendencies, especially fumbles, based on dropback time (3 step, 5 step, 7 step), types of routes and timing based vs not timing based.
Every year I always assume player A is unavailable then I see the player A traded below their market value then I kick myself for not actively pursuing said player.
BK'ing yourself pretty much ;p Totally get what you mean....but there are so many players you never know what one person's opinion is from one player to another. I really didn't get how devoid of talent Houston's roster was. They literally had about a dozen plus guys on their active roster who really are about the quality we just signed for future reserves contracts. They were rocked by injury and lack of depth.
So far the best trade I have seen in terms of value for both parties I think is Green Bay-Titan trade. The lopsided trade has to be Steelers-Packers. I just don't see how Heath Miller with concussion issues gets that much.
actually, AJ Hawk was a throw in, a little salary cap relief. He's coming off injury and i really dont see his value...i have enough linebackers. I really needed a TE, and Heath Miller, concussion issue or not, can catch, split the seem and is a match up nightmare for a lot of teams.
Jags get Chris Johnson. Couldnt afford to pay that for a HB and have others to restructure. The addition og Babin snd possibly another DE gives me thevfreedom to move Wimbley later I hope.
Wow.. some of these trades I'm seeing are the most outrageous.. and uneducated moves I've ever seen lololololololol wooooooooow
