From my life experiences, he sounds like the guy who wants to do a bunch of drugs and then realizes he can't handle the lifestyle and starts blaming everyone else.

I guarantee you that someone like Martin has probably blamed quite a few people for quite a few things before drugs ever entered the picture.

This bullying investigation is lasting longer than the attention Hernendez gave the Patriots.
Sounds like the media would like nothing more then to drag more Dolphin players down along the way.
Not sure how these texts are public and that innocent peoples names are not blurred out, at least from those messages.

    This is how a Don Shula would keep up on the behavior of his players;
"The way I handled things was each assistant coach was responsible for his people. I wanted them to know everything about their players," he said. "In our coaches' meeting every night I would end the meeting by them talking about their players, and if there was something that had come up that I should know about it was brought up. In that way I was kept fully informed."

Eh I can't really bash Pouncey for this, we would have to be completely naïve to think that players don't use drugs but Pouncey is probably pissed off that a transcript like that with his name is released because now he's in the mess with the word drug in it.

But aside from this Pouncey needs to work on getting his name out of the media for anything other than Pro Bowl voting. Offensive linemen should not be known or famous for anything other than pro bowl voting. His name is out there a bit too much for my liking.

If anyone thinks that anything they write on social media is private and could never come out they are very wrong. From facebook, texts, emails and whatever, be careful because it could end up in a newspaper, a newscast or whatever. You have to be deeply stupid to put anything out there, even in a voicemail, that can come back to haunt you. Who are these idiots that played for our team? No wonder they came out flat(hungover) so many times last season. Thanks for the high character, intelligent players, Ireland. I'm so glad your *** is out!

    Of course.

Can you imagine if Incog raped that golf course girl? We aren't the Steelers so that'd be on E!SPN 24/7.

That's exactly how it should be IMHO. And, that's why I have a really hard time thinking that Philbin knew nothing about WTF was going on. He either knew (or suspected) and did nothing, which makes him culpable. Or, he knew nothing, which makes him incompetent. Man, Ross had every opportunity to clean house this off-season, and for more than one good reason. And, he does it half-***...again. I woulda canned EVERYONE!

This makes no sense at all. If the players in the locker room didn't know this s**t was going on, how on earth is the coach supposed to. Unless you're calling Hartline, Grimes, Wallace, Clabo, McKinney and Tannehill liars.

Don't know where you get this. Cannot agree at all. Incognito believed they were friends. And every indication is that they were. All Martin had to do was have a serious, man-to-man talk - nothing controversial but just say, "Look, we've had a great time but I feel like the drugs and all this other stuff is going to ruin my life and hurt my abilities to improve. I'm going to quit. And, I don't want you to get hurt by these either." But, he didn't.

It seems to me Martin has acted with far less integrity than any of the players on the line.

After Martin left the team, he and Incognito continued their trashy banter but then Incognito sent him a serious text:

"All that's important is that you feel better and know we miss you dude."

And soon after that, Martin, hiding out from the media, Completely Throws Incognito under the bus - for no necessary reason at all!

This isn't some dumb kid who couldn't get through JC. He's a Stanford grad. There's no excusing this.

Yeah, Incognito is a partier who was wild and an over-the-top trash-talker. And, so was Martin.

But, Incognito never intentionally threw Martin under the bus as Martin did to Incognito. When Martin left the team, Incognito didn't go to the media and say, "this guy is a nut, he needs to stay home, yada, yada, yada …"

I'm not defending Incognito as a moral guy. He is anything but. He's really just a meathead. But, I don't think he had any bad blood at all toward Martin. The evidence shows he genuinely befriended the guy and actually cared about him! And Martin does what he does?

    smh

Remember high school? Remember how the teachers somehow got wind of who was doing drugs? I find it hard to believe that the coaches didn't know.

How would they? They aren't going to parent these guys and supervise them 24/7 so if they aren't talking about it in front of them or under the influence around them then how would they know?

The counter to this is that Don was his own GM and it was his call if a player or coach was to be shipped out.

From what has been released Philbin wanted Incognito axed after the golf incident but Ireland chose to keep Incognito. It makes it hard for a coach to maintain discipline if players know that the public line is "good character people only" but the reality is that Incognito gets his sex assault claim covered up and illegal drug use is openly talked about by the OL at least.

For me the biggest problem with the OL was a complete lack of discipline, and it showed up most after the Martin thing blew up and the OL play improved despite missing two starters.

Na they didn't even know who was high, and they'd of loved to bust some of the kids who were but they were clueless bc people covered their asses and were very cautious.

As for comparing this situation to high school drug use...I can promise you one thing...nobody except a few trusted people knew what I did, and it was along some of these lines, and worse. Stupid, young, reckless, but behind the scenes.

At some point, I'd like to see people hold THE PLAYERS accountable for what they did in their off-time, and not the coaches. These are highly paid, "professional" athletes in a sport at the top level. WTF ever happened to actually blaming the s***heads that broke the rules, not the enforcers? I'd never expect my H.S. front office to be blamed for stuff I did away from school, to follow some folks' analogies.

The most bothering thing is just how embarrassing this is for the organization at this point. I'm confident players conducting themselves in this manner is not isolated to our O-Line, but it's just ridiculous at this point. Could care less about the drugs and what not, but it's still disgraceful as professionals for this top be an issue on the team.

Not sure I can buy into your logic Smahatz. But, if I had to say one way or the other, I'd say most (if not all) knew "something" was going on. But, my point (and reason I posted) was re; the Shula comment.

True, but I think any coach worth his salt has to know something when it's of the magnitude that this story has developed into. I say Philbin turned a deaf ear to it. And if true, means he is not HC material IMHO. The buck has to stop somewhere.

All I see is a white guy (RickyBobby) bullying a black guy (bigbry) all the while the person in charge (Muck) has been oblivious to this.

This all combines to create an embarrassing situation for this organization (thephins.com)

Not to defend Richie, but the phrase pop a couple Molly I'm sweeeatin is from a popular rap song br a popular raper, Trinidad James.. If Richie was jes using a popular phrase it seems that Martin was the only one getting high... To me it seems Richie was trying to whip him in shape and pull him out of his shell...

Richie popped E in the offseason. He didn't want Martin to, so close to, or in, the regular season (Sept). Look at the dates. Richie only knows whatever Pouncey had was ridiculous because he's popped them.

    Pretty simple stuff

  32. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Didn't read the whole thread, but has anyone pointed out that Incognito was quoting lyrics from a rap song with that Molly reference? It is verbatim from a Rick Ross song and this, most likely a better defense than what Martin can muster with the Pouncey one or the Mary Jane one.

So you are saying Tannehill flat out lied about his understanding of what was going on. If that's the case the Dolphins have bigger problems than Philbin.
