I think the whole problem is this Aponte woman and how she is using her female guile to woo an old man into giving her the Keys to the Kingdom. Make no doubt about it, she wants power and the GM's position. If she can't have the title she still wants it's power and Ross is oblivious to her machinations.....or this is how it looks to many of us on the outside.

What other teams have multiple parties reporting directly to ownership? You only cited one, and by my count there are no more than five in the entire league.

seriously, people kill me when they say "there's a reason he's a billionaire." Yes, there is a reason but it may not be an obvious one. I'm beginning to think, based on what he has shown the nfl world, ross is either some type of business savant or simply the money man/face man for all his companies. I believe his partner(s) are the real brains behind the operations. Someone once called in on the radio and said ross' father left him a fortune.

Even if there was the only one, its considered a model franchise. Why are we being drug through the mud for the same thing they do as well?

You already pretty much put the butt in rebuttal, so what's the point. If you're delusional enough to cling to the fantasy that it's a "media driven problem", seek help at your nearest opportunity. You can pin a one word note to your shirt to identify your ailment to the medical community- "deluded". They should be able to handle it from there.

Because you perceive being turned down by multiple GMs as a negative.

and has hired two BASEBALL (Dee and Garfinkle) guys to run his business side and couldn't get the stadium deal done, also allowed Tim Tebow Worship Day (I personally know 20 people constituting about 100 season tickets that have not been to a game since then), add to that all the other things mentioned.....the guy is either a genius in trying to kill the fanbase so he can move the team, or is the biggest moron since Herbert Hoover (who allowed the country to fall into the depression)

Sure, if they all just said eff you guys. But they didn't. You're basically saying that if ScarJo turns you down you're a failure with women.

Sorry for the delay, I'm still laughing at your long post from a few minutes ago. The facts and evidence speak for themselves, yet you continue to swing a butter knife at the waves crashing over your head. Give it up already, you're soaking wet, it's over, the truth has already drenched you. When you wake up and accept the reality of the situation let us know. And remember, meds are always an option when you're having "one of those days".

Because you're comparing cats to zebras.

Just because two people report to ownership doesn't mean they have equal power. Who knows what power Aponte has or doesn't compared to San Fran.

    This.

The lack of interest is the real FACT here, and it's very apparent. And I rarely read any Miami media outlets.

They turned down the job. It is what it is. Miami will inherently end up signing a GM that isnt their top choice. Miami will also give Philbin and Aponte a degree of autonomy that is rare in the NFL. The question here is whether giving them autonomy is worth having your fourth or fifth choice at GM. Personally I dont agree with a lot of the perceived mysticism assigned to personnel evaluation, so personally I dont think its a big deal. I dont think its unreasonable to think a Dawn Aponte is rarer than a Nick Cesario.

The facts are that 4 people turned down an interview, a finalist turned down a second interview, and one guy turned down an offer. This is for an NFL GM job for a team that looks like it has a QB.

The facts are that you've been sanctimoniously policing the forum's media reading for weeks now. Today, the media appears to be much more right than you thought, and your relentless media agenda argument is being squashed. I get that you don't like it because you've been at it for weeks. But the facts are the facts.

    lol..Francis still gon' Francis.

Non-GM's turning down promotions, raises, and one of the most coveted positions in the league, one of the ONLY open GM spots.... Yeah, nothing to see here. Its all the media at play. ScarJo ...yeah good one.

    Give it a rest dude.

Its a time for you to celebrate...we just hired the guy who got supplanted by the guy who didn't want to come here. YAY-Phins!!!

I think the developments this weekend answer the question. The Dolphins are leaderless at the top. That is the reason.

It is ironic that Ross may now be less popular than Ireland on his worse day.

If someone wants to believe this is media driven then go ahead. However, there were 2 offers declined. Lawson gave a statement that specifically talked about the vision not meeting his.

So again, believe whatever you want to believe. However this was a job that was not wanted...except by a man that spent 18 years with an organization and wasn't offered a promotion.

I would have backed the "media is making it up" "everyone is sexist" stuff after the first 300 candidates turned us down but its way past that stuff now FinD. Sorry but its not the media or Aponte's genitalia that is the issue here.

And if this continues he'll be less popular than Jeffrey Loria, and that is tough to do.

Oh I definitely hate Ross more than Ireland. But even two years ago, when I met an NFL owner here in LA and we discussed the Dolphins I said I thought the GM (Ireland) was so-so but the owner was a moron. Yep, I said it because I believed it.

    Still do.

Such a disaster. Sad. So very sad.

Sad that the great Don Shula, in his waning years of life, has to watch this ship limp out to sea and slowly sink with a failed owner who can't hire a legit captain.

I wouldn't be surprised if the money he's offering isn't very good.

I don't see another reason why guys would take 2 or 3 interviews just to turn it down unless they're liking what they hear as to the job description but then once Ross gets to the contract offer, the figure is way too low.

There should be a poll concerning what Ireland's worst day was. There are just so many good (bad) days to choose from.
