and..on that note.. I think Ill take a break for awhile. This is a discussion that can only spiral downwards. Better to just end it now. See yall after the draft. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
If any one thinks it's tough to get a GM right now, wait until this filters thru the league from the players. Good luck. No one is gonna want to come here and the price for those that might.....just went up
Maybe everyone including the Browns knew about it and were ok with it?? I don't know the details but its possible..
And if the Browns didn't know it it reflects poorly on them. It's called due diligence. And if Bess wasn't wanted, you get what you can for him. How many players have the Pats traded/cut/waived after long careers w/ them and no love lost. That's Belicheat for you. The Dolphins are not at fault. It's business.
Sorry but you are heartless. There are things more important than business. They are called human beings. Maybe you should look into the concept of that.
Drama... You think Bess would have been happier if they just cut him due to mental health issues? Maybe they could have made a 1 time donation in his name to mental health awareness. I guess I'm just wondering what you thought they should have done differently..
What is so different between us dealing Bess and Marshall before he had some personality disorder we didn't know about? Teams do this all the time. Bess wasn't the first player that was committed, went to rehab, or did whatever because of problems. Now if Miami didn't disclose that to Cleveland as was mentioned then that's unethical and wrong. That should be divulged. If we did though...happens all the time as crappy as it sounds.
This information isn't new. If the patriots got rid of a player before he went bat **** they would be applauded for being a no tolerance program. I would have liked for the team to help but let's be realistic, his family, agent, and friends all have more of an obligation than the team.
Almost all undrafted FAs never even play, much less avg. over 50 catches a season for 4 straight years
The other day, when it was first reported that Bess was arrested for assault of a police officer, I thought to myself, "He was a Dolphin far more than a Brown, and it would simply be decent, if Ross went down to check on him." Bess shined long before Philbin arrived, and I don't hold this coach accountable. Ross alone, as owner and as a self proclaimed fan should have recognized Bess for who he was here. Heck, That even would have been something positive, something to suggest this place isn't the evil empire its being reported as. Damn, I don't know who's paid to oversee the PR of this club, but right now Ross needs a quality one of these, even more than a GM.
They didn't owe Cleveland anything. HIPAA ensured that. They should have helped Bess, but that's up to them.
Guy has Mental issues and Miami is reponsible for him... A guy kills possibly 3 people all while on the Pats and he is a "former Pat" and no questions asked. The double standards in the NFL boggle the mind.
Would you expect Bess to go visit Ross if something happened to him? I mean, that would be the decent thing to do since Bess was given his best chance to be set in life by Ross' team. And Bess was plenty recognized for his time here. He wasn't some greatest dolphin of all time or anything.
You are ignoring the obvious. I am not saying the Dolphins owed anyone. I am saying it is the perception it creates. It seems to suggest the Upper Brass from the Owner down Have no Character. It screams the type of people that are here. You couple this with Bully-gate and the ousting of Jeff Ireland and it suggest's we have a bunch of power hungry, self centered morally incompetent pieces of ****. At minimum it let's you know something isn't right. You wouldn't now what direction the knives are going to fly from. That's why they want a "team player". They don't want a team player they want someone who is going to bow to the power structure. A power structure proven to have already been abused, a coaching staff that is questionable, a report coming out that God knows what it will contain and now people questioning the morals that ALL of the involved people here in Miami have - and oh yes they are ALL involved: from the coaches, to the owner to maybe even some of the players Seems to me like they have their work cut out for them Jeff Ireland is laughing his a$$ off right now
