    Actually this is a win-win…

If the Dolphins continue to be mediocre long enough, fan support will continue to dwindle, as will ROss' income until he has to sell the team to avoid losing money yearly. WIN.

If the Dolphins somehow overcome the hindrance of having an ignoramus as an owner and actually win and make the playoffs, we will be happy. WIN.

    It's a no lose situation.

Just don't watch the games though… you'll probably see more dysfunction on the field. That's the new culture in Miami.

All of this to finally end up with Brian Gaine? Really? I did not even want Farmer but between him and Gaine, I would take the former.

I still hope this is not happening...

John Wooten tells me Ray Farmer has reservations about the Dolphins structure. Wooten told Farmer to interview and get clarity on the issue.

Apparently LaCanfora just tweeted that Farmer is now agreeing to a 2nd interview. Stay tuned.

Repeatedly calling a candidate by the wrong name during an interview just goes to show Ross isn't very committed to owning a football team. It's just a hobby to him, albeit a very expensive one, and something he finds cool.

Wooten said he was unsure if Farmer would have a change of heart and heed his advice, but is hopeful that he might

NFL owners don't lose money... wtf are you talking about? In fact, getting a winner would probably be more conducive to him selling considering the franchise is worth less than what he paid for it.

If Farmer needs convincing to come interview then he can stay in Cleveland for all I care. Your resume isn't all that, guy.

no brainer: I've known since the reluctant parting of the waves with Ireland, Miami assistant general manager Brian Gaine would be the new GM.

Why would any GM candidate of worth wanna come here when we only partially cleaned house and still have people here who were involved in controversy last year. It sure as hell isn't b/c of the roster or cap space b/c there's more than enough there to work with. Philbin is likely the greatest reason though. Who wants to GM a team with a HC and his team of cronies whom he thinks should be out the door and might make him look bad in 2014?

Not to mention, Ross shot himself in the foot by offering Ireland a salary increase to assume less responsibility. If he didn't want Ireland as a GM he should've just fired him, but no, instead he induced the football world into thinking his next GM might end up being handcuffed or underminded by either himself, Team Aponte-Philbin, or both. Peterson is at just as much fault here. Stop listening to that clown.

So now Wooten from the Fritz Pollard alliance is trying to convince Farmer to interview again...I mean if I was Farmer I would demand Stephen Ross speaks to me over the phone and finally give me clarity on the power structure before I waste a trip back to Dolphins headquarters.

If he takes a second interview Lacanfora needs to get tarred and feathered he is costing CBS credibility. The guy is really bad at his job. He reminds me of former "insider" Fred Edelstein.

So, that is the reason Gamble declined interviewing, LaCosta declined, and Licht decided to take the sure deal in Tampa Bay rather than be a maybe choice in Miami?

Regardless if Farmer doesn't want to interview good for him, he clearly is too good for Miami. If he has a question about the job structure he couldn't just call Carl Peterson, his supposed mentor, and ask?

Again, Farmer doesn't want to interview, Wooten is trying to talk him into it.

If Farmer does not want to interview a 2nd time, fine with me. I'd rather have Dennis Hickey or Lake Dawson anyway.

The fact that he is questioning wether or not take the interview is pretty bad .

He already had one and still he doesn't know the structure? Something is wrong here.

Exactly. What kind of bet would that be?

And you know what, he declined a second interview to stay in the BROWNS, an organization more dysfunctional than our own, or so we think. An organization that just fired a damn good coach after ONE season and hired some nobody they begged to take the head coaching job.

    This is very embarrassing.

Of course, that's assuming it's a structural issue.

I think (and I stress that this is speculation on my part) his indecision has something to do with The Browns hiring a new Head Coach.

If Ross had any sense he would be embarrassed that Farmer is letting this play out in the public and tell him to stay in Cleveland. For gods sake Farmer was on the phone with Armando telling him he's concerned about the structure. On what planet is that okay?

So apparently Farmer was the one who told LaCanfora that he was confused about the structure s couple of days ago, and that the Dolphins were non committal about it in interviews.

At this point with the "report" that he really has to be talked into interviewing again I can't believe he'll be hired. The questions at the presser would make it look like he had to be convinced to interview for a promotion with the Phins.

smh... This smells like it was going to be Gaine all along. Remember, ross wanted jeffy back but without final say. I bet ross planned on flipping jeffy & Gaine's power. Just like back in 2004 when wayne switched the wannspiel power structure.

And again..you never have this kind of drama with other teams. If the hiring process werent such a convaluted mess..you would never even have this kind of crap.

People would rather go work for the Cleveland Browns than come to the Miami Dolphins...

Ross needs to hire someone who can handle hiring people, because he clearly can't seem to focus on it fully. In over his head.

This franchise needs a culture change so bad... We need a leader at the top and it can't be Carl Peterson.
