Well..cant say Ross isnt swinging for the fences and looking to bring in the best. Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 1m New intriguing candidate for Dolphins' GM job: Ravens asst. GM Eric DeCosta, who has been contacted for interview per NFL source. Story tk.
You might be correct, but it does show as the OP suggested, that Ross is looking in the right places.
Hey, Ross said they were going after the best. Thats DeCosta in alot of peoples minds. Only way you know for sure he wont come, is if you dont interview him. Then I can guarantee he wont be here.
Peter King says DaCosta has no interest in Miami job and takes a thinly veiled shot at Dolphins by adding "He's gm in waiting for one of best franchises in football" Ouch Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Peter King @SI_PeterKing 17m Ravens asst GM Eric DeCosta has no interest in the Miami job. He's the GM-in-waiting at one of the best franchises in football. Retweeted by Adam Beasley
Basically means he doesn't want to uproot his family, because he's waiting another five years. Ozzie is only 57.
I'm actually starting to think that DeCosta isn't really going to be a good GM when the torch is passed to him in Baltimore. The vast majority of these guys are Type-A personalities who enjoy the challenge of being GM and jump at the opportunity to show what they can build, but DeCosta is beginning to strike me as timid. It almost seems as if he enjoys being GM-in-waiting more than he enjoys the prospect of actually being a GM. He's going to have a heart attack when Ozzie Newsome actually retires.
So..... I challenge you guys to use this as a learning opportunity......if no request has been made, how would all these reporters like King or Beasley, know for a fact DeCosta would turn us down? Well, they don't know it for a fact. They are speculating, that's why they are using Twitter. You can speculate all you want on Twitter its not official. Could they be right? Sure. This is just an excellent example of how we are being constantly duped and made to run in circles by the media. FTR, there are positives for coming here instead of staying in Baltimore, like not having to live up to Newsome's shadow and not having to wait to get the reins.
DeCosta has turned down all previous overtures and last I heard they PAY him like he is already a GM there.
