What do you think about Norv Turner replacing Mike Sherman? I think it could be a good move. Your thoughts?

I'd rather someone younger and more of an innovative new offensive mind.

Honestly I think Norv is too good of an offensive coordinator to want to come to the situation in Miami if Ireland is still around. Expect a Brian Daboll type hire. History repeats.

  4. Norv kinda reminds me of Cam Cameron. He would not be the worst hire but I rather find somebody else than settle for him.

Wait wasn't he here before, and didn't he suck then? Do not dig up old bones and stick to the future.

I'd take Cam Cameron as OC before I took Norv Turner.

    Seriously?

Miami's highest points per possession rate in the past 13 years came in 2002 and 2003 when Norv Turner was coordinating the offense. The team had a lousy quarterback but the best runner in the league during his two years. San Diego consistently had an offense that was rated among the top offenses in the league with Norv Turner's offense.

I love that offense. It's my favorite offense in the NFL. It just doesn't match up with Joe Philbin's vision for what the offense should be.

Lol..Norv Turner's offense with the right pieces is damn near the perfect offense. And it utilizes almost everything...fullback, TE...strong running game, deep passing. But yeah..much different then what Philbin wants to run. Ironically..it is probably the perfect offense to win in the NFL...because teams are creating defenses to shut down the wide open passing attacks. Norv Turner is a great offensive coordinator. And..honestly..RT could thrive in that offense.

It's more than a zone blocking thing, they're almost certainly not going to hire someone from another offensive tree.

Oh..I know that. I agree completely and..honestly..I want to continue with the style we are working towards. Im starting to feel more comfortable with the Ben Mcadoo choice..I think alot of the issues we had were because of Sherman being stubborn. I think Philbin is a smart guy..and the chances are good ... we will run the same system..but look a whole lot better and different running it next season. And please...dont anybody respond with.."No we won't..if Jeff Ireland is here." Im so sick of hearing that...I dont care for him as a GM either...but damn..let it go

Well, you can't ignore it. It's not a situation where if we ignore the problem, it will just go away. The biggest problem with the offense at hand is talent, not coaching. Those of you that think just changing coordinators is going to make this magical difference are whistling dixie.

If we can get a SOLID offensive line, I agree 100%!!!

I agree completly. But..does every thing have to "..as long as Jeff Ireland is here."

Yes, because as long as he is here, nothing positive can come out of it.

Even if you talk about him in every post in every thread it's not going to make a difference. Ross isn't going to fire him or keep him based on the rantings on www.thephins.com
