Okay, Ross is a genius business man but his hands are tied at the moment. Okay fine, but it doesn't mean anything will happen.

I believe they are accurate to information that a particular party 'wanted' to be released...The truth of the particular leak is relevant to who leaked it and why they wanted that leaked...Thats the falacy of the media. Then to take it a step forward, the person that is getting the 'leak' puts his/her own tweak on that information [case in point, anything Mando releases]...

The media is quite an issue in SFL...they are notoriously negative towards the team, ever since our Saban era... They continually spin information to a negative light... Sorry, I have to agree more with Fin D on this...

My thoughts exactly. I would never switch teams. But each year Ireland and his brand of mediocrity is retained I care less and less about this team and the NFL in general. My fandom feels like it's just about been beaten into submission. And all of you can call me a ****ty fan if you want. The fact is this team has lost a ton of fans and is bleeding fans at an exponentially increasing rate. Perfect example: I have a friend who has always been a Dolphins fan. Not to the extent that I am, but for as long. He doesn't spend hours reading message boards like this that I do, or reading and learning about every player on the team. He's just your average fan. And that's what probably at least 90% of any teams' fanbase is. His support has been wavering every year. He's started buying Saints jerseys and has been increasingly enamored with them. I've been begging him to not give up on his Dolphins. I was at his house watching the season ending **** show against the Jets. I looked over at him when it was done and I could tell I had lost him. He just shook his head, said "**** this team". He's done. He doesn't even care about Ireland or any of that ****. He just wants to see entertaining football. And that has been in short supply with this Jeff Ireland built team. That's what's happening. That's what Ireland and company have done and will continue to do to this team. Those of you that don't care if he's retained, or worse, want him retained just remember when the **** show that will be the 2014 season gets under way: You asked for it.

I can understand the media in SFL, I mean the Saban era and Ireland era the team has basically has a adversarial relationship with the media, which is obviously counterproductive and just a stupid way to run your team. Another reason for the current regime to go. However, I was commenting on Mort here, not the SFL media. Mort usually has his ducks in a row whether he is speculating or reporting happenings around the league. He's not flawless but when he gets on TV and reports something, there is a source behind it, not a blog or tweet or just a hunch.

The Dolphins have basically turned a lot of former fans into apathetic fans. These fans are the ones who used to look forward to Dolphin games and they would feel extreme excitement when the Dolphins won and sick to their stomach when the Dolphins lost . Now many of these fans go into each season expecting the worst and aren't surprised in the least when the worst happens.

These fans enjoy the wins, but they don't put as much of themselves into being a fan, because they have learned over the past decade that those happy feelings over a win are soon to be replaced by the agony of another mediocre season. I know several former season ticket holders who used to love the Dolphins and loved attending games. These individuals no longer attend games and they don't even seem to care about the Dolphins one way or the other anymore.

It is okay when fans of a team are upset with the team or the management because this shows that these fans still care enough about the team to get upset. The worst thing that can happen to a team is that former fans become apathetic and no longer care if they win or lose. Unfortunately in the South Florida area, more and more fans are becoming apathetic toward the Dolphins each and every year since Ross became the majority owner of this organization.

Personally I don't care what Mort or anyone else in the media has to say regarding the Dolphins. All I care about is that Ross starts acting like an NFL owner who has a clue and he finally does what he should have done 2 years ago. FIRE IRELAND.

I agree, Mort is ususally close, but my point was the "who" that is his source, that info was likely released as part of someone's agenda, not because it's necessarily the end-all truth... Whether that was from JI, JP or Ross, I don't know, but either way, there's usually an agenda to release of info, in these situations...

I won't argue that as a real estate mogul, Ross is a genius as a businessman. Unfortunately making a lot of money in real estate does not mean that he has any idea how to run a professional football team. All you have to do is look at how this team has been run since he became the majority owner after the 2008 season and it is apparent that Ross is completely in over his head as an NFL owner.

He is not the only clueless NFL owner in the league, but he certainly is one of the top names that comes up when the worst owners in the league are being discussed.

I could be your friend. Same thing is happening to me. I've been a fan since day 1 in 1966, went to my 1st game with Bob Giese's 1st start (vs. Denver), was a season ticket holder of 3 tickets from the time I was 18 (1978) til I was 49 (2009) - 32 full seasons.

I'm almost done....and I am "Joe Fan". I don't know about (or care too) zone blitzes, coverage types, read options. I care about watching entertaining and exciting football, and not the Jeff Ireland brand of blaise, bland mediocre football.

If Ireland is retained, I'm done - the line has been drawn. Some of you will speculate thats a good thing I am sure, but there are many more - thousands like myself that have already turned off the Miami Dolphins and gone to another team. I'm awaiting the final decision. If it's as I suspect, I will cry a few tears because of a broken heart, but I need to do what will keep my own sanity, and that of those I live and work with.

I really ****ing hate you Ross for putting me in this position.

I will always love the Dolphins, but this fanbase is making me question if I even want to be human anymore.

Ross has improved the team form when he took it over. He is far and away not the worst owner in the league. You guys have officially gone off the deep end.

If a message board is making you question your fanship, step away. I like this board and some of the posters, but if I felt like souring on the Dolphins because of it, no offense thephins, but I'd axe this place 1,000 times out of 1,000.

And Ross hasn't improved anything. 1-15 was the anomaly, not the norm. We've been average since the mid Wanstache era. Once or twice better, once or twice worse. It's more of the same mediocrity.

And Ross has made some awful blunders, certainly worthy of questioning his ability to own a team.

Ross has asked and is waiting through the weekend for someone to accept running all football aspects of the Dolphins. This person will have complete control of who is GM and the new GM will decide on the coach.

    Yawn.

We were actually way closer then we have been to the playoffs and our record wasn't sub 500. That's improvement. Is it enough? Of course not, but to act as if Ross is the WORST owner ever, is bull **** hyperbole that I've come to expect from you and your ilk.

Good luck renouncing your human being-hood.

I know what it's like to look at other's don the aqua and orange and shudder in disgust. And that feeling of resentment associates to your team negatively. Step away, were in the midst of a calamity and it's only going to get worse.

Curious though, what are you gonna be? Personally, I think you should be a giraffe. And then maybe you could help me change my flood lights? I have a nice tree back there I'll let you snack on. But don't **** on my lawn..with your big giraffe turds.

I'm starting to believe the theories he is trying to destroy the fanbase to the point it makes it not only palatable to the league but seen as the only way to save his franchise to move them out of Miami. I'm not kidding, because nothing else is making sense, why would you continue to make the majority of your fans unhappy by retaining the heart of their ire ?
