This doesn't mean nothing will happen. Its possible he just heard all sides of the story and will decide tomorrow or something.

I'd be shocked if nothing happens. When Ross asks both Ireland and Philbin what went wrong, my guess is they're going to have different answers.

You know you have a poorly run franchise when as a fan you can see just how bad decisions have been for years....and the owner can't. Keeping Ireland here is indefensible, absolutely indefensible. If he keeps Ireland then Ross is the most clueless owner in the NFL, possibly sports, and we have no shot at winning anything. I would be shocked if we do not regress completely after another offseason of low impact drafts picks, overspending on dud FAs and clueless talent evaluations of Olinemen, LBs, etc. Good luck Ross, wish we could all just hop on a Helicopter go to our mansion, swim in our Scrooge McDuck treasure room of gold and jewels and forget about the crapfest of a team you've created.

The problem with your scenario is that the only way Kubiak would become the HC is for Philbin to be fired, along with Ireland. The only way Philbin is fired is if the Dolphins aren't a successful team next year. That would imply that the new OC probably didn't do a very good job of getting more production out of the offense.

I think if Philbin and Ireland are both fired after next season and Kubiak was the OC. The next GM would hire his own HC and Kubiak and the other coaches on the team would likely also lose their jobs. Unless the offense starts scoring 30 points a game and the defense just completely falters next season. I just don't believe that Philbin would be fired and one of his assistant coaches ends up as the teams next head coach. It will be a complete blowup of the teams and the coaching staff in that case, IMO.

I think Ross will want to fire both and go after Mahlzan. He's the big name and is known as an offensive genius.

It depends on the approach. Obviously we would not want Kubiak to know about Philbin's situation. That would be easy for Kubiak to just not do very well. But it does give Ross a huge upside if Philbin fail's and it also keeps us on course with the talent because Kubiak runs a slightly modified West Coast offense that stretches the D but does not rely on the long ball as much as other WCO. Plays right into the strength of Tannehill, who's long ball has something to be desired. I still believe had Tannehill been able to hit several of those longer throws we would have possibly won the last game for sure and made the playoffs. It's tough to think Sherman may loose his job as a result of 5 or 6 plays.

Of course there is always the option to **** can Philbin and Sherman right now and Hire Kubiak as our coach and OC

I actually think I want Philbin to go more than Ireland if I had a gun held to my head.

RB, I assume you have never been to Hawaii. The reason I say that is because if you had been there and also been to South Florida, you would understand that South Florida is much hotter than Hawaii on a regular basis.
In Hawaii the trade winds keep the temperature relatively mild all year long. While inland it can get hotter than around the water or up in the mountains, it is actually very pleasant 12 months a year in Hawaii. Our home will only be a block from the beach and when you go walking on the beach at night in Hawaii, many people wear a light jacket because it can get chilly because of the cool breeze blowing off the water. In fact the vast majority of homes in Hawaii don't have central AC. People just open their windows at night and the trade winds keep the homes cool throughout the night. In fact it gets so chilly at night, even during the summer, you have to sleep under a blanket.

The humidity in most areas of Hawaii is a lot lower than it is South Florida. Also if the day does get too warm, all you have to do is jump in the car and drive to the mountains in the island you are on. Get to the top of the mountain and the temperature will be 20 degrees less than it was at the lower areas on the island. In fact it is not unusual for there to be snow on the higher peaks during the winter in Hawaii. People actually go snow skiing on some of those mountains.

If you have never been to Hawaii, hopefully you will have a chance to visit someday and you will see why the climate in Hawaii is so great, compared to South Florida.

How could Kubiak not know about the situation? It has been all over the national news that Ross is evaluating the entire organization. If in fact Kubiak isn't aware of the turmoil taking place in Miami right now. He has either been out of the country and not kept up on the happenings in the NFL or he just has zero interest in possible job openings in the NFL at this time.

Kubiak had a stroke during the past season and he just might want to take the money he still has coming from the Texans and take a year off from coaching to get his health back. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with him as an NFL head coach. I thought the Texans had plenty of talent and he never seemed to get the most out of this talent, especially in the playoffs. He might be an upgrade over Philbin, but when the time comes to hire the next HC of the Dolphins. I hope Ross does better than Kubiak.

What I meant was not tell him if Philbin fails we are going to offer you the job.

if Ireland stays then I hope you get to see the team go winless or 3 -13 next year because other teams will pass us by.

My gut feeling is that If Ross did not make a move now I don't think you'll see any moves made period.
    Something should absolutely be done.
At a minimum both Coordinators should be gone..... that's a bottom line necessity that apparently Ross is unwilling to force.
    Disappointing.

So you rather keep the GM who has gotten us no where but average with 6 years on the job, and has caused our team multiple national embarrassments over a HC who has only been doing this for 2 years?
