It's obvious he has to go. But who are some good candidates to replace him? Gary Kubiak, Rob Chudzinski, Mike Shanahan? Should we look at a college coach? This is given that Philbin stays by the way.

Also, Wheeler needs to go. I think Ellerbe can do well if he has better linebackers at his side, like how he did in Baltimore. What should we do at that position?

I would like Shanahan myself. He has always been able to run the ball and he is said to have a man crush on Ryan Tannehill.

A Magic 8 Ball would be more unpredictable than a Sherman gameplan.

If Philbin is retained, it would be a pretty big surprise if an OC hire doesn't come from an WCO branch. An off-school hire would be a bit uncommon and I would be very surprised

I think it's worth noting that the WCO has been a pretty big base for grafting a lot of the recent innovation from college. I don't have a lot of names besides maybe Kyle Shanahan, but I think you should eye the 49ers, Redskins, and Eagles coaching staffs for potential candidates.

If Ireland stays that would be a vote of confidence in his abilities and the job he has done so far. IMHO that would be a big mistake, he has made a lot of changes with so little production from the moves he has made. If Philbin stays you may see all of the coaches stay the same,...Ouch!!!

Brad Childress, with Tom Heckert as our new GM.

ETA: When the team hired Nick Saban, I was very interested in seeing the team hire Heckert as GM and Childress as head coach. I'm a bit less high on Childress as HC after Minnesota, but I find him to be a highly credible OC who has spent this year working on special projects for Andy Reid which basically means him incorporating elements of the spread offense into the WCO and helping the defense deal with spread elements.
