Guys it's been a looong, hard 6 years of misery and ineptitude. But it's over, it's finally over!! I am eagerly anticipating Black Monday!
If he doesn't get fired, expect another 2004 type season when the wheels completely fall off in either 2014 or 2015.
who the **** cares anymore? Do YOU really have the energy to wait around another 9 months for this BS? 9 ****ing months is what we wait for and we get this piss poor garbage for it. **** this team and organization i am done.
Truth. Ross doesn't care about the dolphins anyway. So that makes Ireland coming back all that more likely.
Somehow I think Ireland talks his way out of getting fired....which is too bad because he's the major issue here. If he had put together a somewhat competent Oline, some RB talent and LBs that actually should be starting in the NFL we wouldn't be having this discussion. You can't build a team full of superstars at every position but having entire units or 90% of a unit that shouldn't even be starting is going to cost you the playoffs. I don't think our coaching staff distinguished itself by any means but talent is the major issue here. Ireland should be fired before the day is done but somehow I think he convinces Ross that its not his fault. Maybe he's got one more year of blaming Parcells, who knows.
Why don't you go find someone that wants your brand of chest-puffing self-importance and grace them with your presence?
Ross might decide that Ireland just needs ONE more year to revamp the LB corp and the OL. I wish I could be confident Jeff is GONE. We should know in a day or two.
But you would be happier if Ireland got canned tonight before you go to bed. At least you would know Ross had a pair, I know I would.
would really like to get rex as our DC. i have a feeling we will be stuck with another year of ireland.
Do you actually trust the owner to make a good decision!?! While the firing of Jeff Ireland would be the best thing to come out of this, I just don't believe it. Even if it did happen, do you trust Ross to find a good GM?
revamp the LB core? WHO ON EARTH thinks that will happen? REALLLY???? we just spent $80 mill there. have you noticed wherever ireland has invested big $ in they have been disasters from week 1 of practice? OL JOKE $200+ mill and 10000 draft picks, LB core $80 mill JOKE and as strong as a WR in pee wee football.
The guy is part HIV and part Roach, no matter how many times you think you've gotten rid of him, he survives.
I hope he's fired just so people can move on to *****ing about something new (that is not to say I think he deserves to keep his job).
If there's true regime change then there won't be much complaining about anything for a couple of years. Grace periods are magical things.
what news are you referring to here ? I just think ts time for dolphin fans to get vocal and buy some signs or posters to send Ross a messages . is there a chance Miami fans will speak up and what about Jason Taylor he has MR. ROSS ear.
If the Chargers lose, the 8-8 Steelers make the playoffs. Since the Dolphins can't even make the playoffs when the AFC is so terrible that 8-8 is good enough...then we're never going to make the playoffs with Ireland as GM.
It would be the one thing that would right the ship, even if Philbin and his cast of stooges and cronies get another year—which means, don't count on it. Ross is the densest, dumbest and blindest billionaire in the world. He is truly, utterly clueless about football.
So you feel he should be fired and a side benefit would be that the ongoing Fireland talk would end ? Hey I think most of us want both of those to happen as well.
Ireland should have been gone when Sparano was fired. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of confidence in Ross when it comes to doing the right thing in regards to firing Ireland and finally going out and hiring a GM who knows how to build a winning football team. Right now though, it would not surprise me in the least if Ross doesn't keep Ireland and the entire coaching staff for the 2014 season. This would make me mad as hell, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. Until he shows that he is willing to do what is necessary to hire the right individuals to select the talent and coach the players, I will continue to question his ability as an NFL owner.
Another possibility: Ross repeats the same mistake differently - Ireland fired but Ross insists on keeping philbin instead of leaving it up to the next GM. Thus severely limiting the pool of GMs who would take the job. I've defended philbin through much of this season but that would be as bad a mistake as not firing Ireland in 2011 and that was a huge mistake.
Not necessarily. It's very possible a quality GM would want to work with Philbin. Don't forget, Philbin is very highly thought of in league circles.
