Great news if the Ravens win.. Assuming we don't blow it at home against the Jets.

So what do we need to happen? We need to win obviously, and what else?

I'm betting the commish will be talking to Reid about that..........integrity of the league, and all.

Plus in this specific case, nothing to say by commish, as KC is the only team that cant harm or improve its #5 slot based on week 17. They are locked and loaded, nothing to play for for any benefit.

All others are impacted and slots are wide open from seeding standpoint.

The Ravens to lose. If the Ravens win, Miami needs the Chargers to win as well. I hate needing other crap to happen. Miami has only themselves to blame for not taking care of their own business last week

Actually a win last week wouldnt have changed the fact we would need a win this week. The fact that BAL lost and SD won last week helped when we lost, but even with win vs BUF (combined with BAL loss and SD last week) wouldnt have changed our need to still win this week.

All it would have changed is a win vs NYJ and we would not have needed a BAL loss or SD win this week, etc.

Yes I know. If Miami won last week and wins this week they would have been in. Now since they didn't take care of their own business last week they need a win and help. Hence why I said they have no one but themselves to blame for not taking care of their own business

I think Miami is going to just barely beat the Jets and Cinncy will beat a staggered and underwhelming Baltimore team in the final week.

Win, and either have the Ravens lose OR have the the Chargers win. (Both events happening obviously is ok as well.)

Assuming we make the playoff who would you all like to play more, Colts or Bengals? I used to think the Bengals would be the easier time but after going over some of the PFF data it clearly says the Colts are the inferior team, the only problem is we would have to face Andrew Luck who gives us a bunch of problems the two times we have faced him.

Bengals are tough team at home, very beatable on the road. I'd much rather play the colts, plus it's in a dome

I know man, I can't read those prediction scenario threads..so we have to win and the ravens have to lose, or, the dolphins have to win, the ravens have to win along with the chargers winning..got it..

    Peace out..

If we win and the chargers win, it doesn't matter what the Ravens do.

    Or

If we win and the Ravens lose, it doesn't matter what the Chargers do.

Well that is pretty significant and what you expect or hope for from a team that wanted to not let others control a playoff appearance or from a team that was fully prepared to pay the price , coaches through players imo .

I would much rather Baltimore and SD win (assuming colts win). Would rather play Indy then Cincy on the road.

There is some truth in there, do keep in mind D22, it is how we finish that matters not the emotions in the moment.

I dislike Ireland b/c of his consistent inability to find offensive line talent, however, the season is not over quite yet.

I'd think Wally B would hold the same standard, BC had a disappointing season this year and it took .002 seconds for changes to be made..AFTER the season was over.

Bye bye Stubler, bye bye Chappedeline, THAT to me is the standard

Cmon a win last week means everything. Its night and day different to actually own your own destiny a playoff race. We could win this week and still be out of the playoffs, to imply thats just a tiny thing is kind of nutty.

The only problem with your scenario is that if both the Ravens and Dolphins win earlier in the day, the Chargers will already know that they have zero chance of making the playoffs, win or lose. So they could just decide that there be no reason to play their starters throughout the game against the Chiefs.

Before that game is over, it might look more like a preseason game than a regular season game. It could end up with the Chiefs backups playing against the Chargers backups and the starters for the Chargers will already be planning their off season before the game is over.

I want a win vs jets and a convincing one. Playoffs a bonus. After getting punked by a 4 win team they should be pissed. If they aren't, I just assume not go to playoffs, don't need another 62-7 embarrasement.

I dunno... I think in terms of winning, he's right. we still would have needed to beat the Jets to get in. A win last week doesn't mean "everything" because we're still not in the playoffs on that outcome alone :tongue2:

Colts easily. While we have beaten both teams, I think the Bengals are a better team than the Colts particularly now that the Colts don't have Wayne.

IMO what got us in trouble last week was poor game-planning and a lack of adjustments.

I think both points are valid. We would still need to win this week, but now a loss and we are done. Along with needing some help.

Doubt it. Teams hardly ever rest their starters if they are eliminated. The exception being if they have a backup QB they plan to shop or a few players they really want to see in game action.

If we had won last week, would we control our destiny this week? Win and we're in? No help needed? If so that loss last week is indeed huge.

How could that loss last week NOT be considered huge? In terms of momentum, confidence and perception...Huge. Not even considering now, a win does not automatically mean we are in! Who really has confidence that this team will not lay another huge egg? Even the most optimistic fans on this board must admit that last week brings huge doubt in this game. These players and Coaches knew, absolutely knew, that Buffalo game had to be won, that they had to come out and perform...and they did not. To say the game was not that important because some other teams failures left a door open for us puzzles me....Going in they knew the importance. After the fact, is irrelevant in my eyes, that it wasn't so bad because others wet the bed too.

Everything you say is accurate...from an emotional standpoint.....and its true an advantage was given, LOST....thats undeniably true.

The fact is dont let the small loss cross over an confuse and obfuscate the real facts...we are still alive. We can still acomplish the goal....battles vs war mentality. This team took something for granted. We must all rally behind them and hope they realize the GIFT that has been given them.

They can still overcome and achieve the goal. Get to the dance! If at the end, they only have themselves to blame, that will be judged then.

Really if the Chargers are in, imagine what they could do in the long run. As it is best for either Ravens or Fins to win.

Even so if we and the ravens win and the chargers know they are eliminated, it's not like they will just give up. Still fighting and playing for their coaches job and pride. Would say something if they lost to chief backups.
