Nice sweep. Our domination on the road continues.

K-Rod, 30 saves. That's mind-boggling. Of course, it's his contract year but he's on a record pace. That said, Angels better keep him around.

He's definitely recovered nicely from his early "struggles", and has increased his value quite a bit I'm sure. I cant see the Angels letting him walk. He's the key to our bullpen, lose him and it goes from really good to mediocre pretty quickly.

Heard this stat on either Baseball Tonight or ESPN News that K-Rod has more saves than Seattle has wins.

I guess Bedard wasnt enough to make them better than the Angels like many expected lol.

Yeah, I'm glad I never got on the Mariner bandwagon during the offseason and continued to stay on the Halos' wagon instead. I thought that the Mariners were playing over their heads last year and weren't as good as their record showed and even adding Berdard (which might end up going down as one of the worst trades in the past 20 years depending on how next year plays out and how Adam Jones and Chris Tillman turn out).

I also had a lot of faith in Ervin Santana's turn around in '08 and figured if Lackey only had to miss a month they could survive. I'm glad I was right as I'm hoping for another Sox/Angels playoff match up.

Haha, well I just also happen to have a lot of respect for the Angels franchise and everytime the Sox and Angels play its usually a good game no matter what the outcome is.

Yep, despite recent history I love playing the Sox. Though it would be nice to come out on the winning end once in a while, but I suppose if you're going to get knocked out of the playoffs it might as well be a team you respect. ;)

Hard to disagree with that. Angels are in first place and Santana/Saunders are the reason why. Santana going for win #10 tonight.

Also got honorable mention for best back end of the bullpen (should have won this category also imo) and best double-play combo w/ Kendrick and Aybar.

Not sure how ESPN can have the Angels ranked 9th in the power rankings however...

I guess this came out before our sweep of the Phillies but still.

Bad news is we lost to Washington. The good news is we got the Dodgers next so things should be easier...

And for those who missed it, they said during the radio broadcast that Escobar will go out on a rehab start on Monday. Lets hope all goes well and he comes out of it healthy.

I can't BELIEVE my A's are still in this thing. 3 1/2 out at the end of June. They could be a wild card! LOL!

BTW...Carlos Gonzalez is going to be an All Star in 3 years. The dude has .300/30/120/40 doubles and a gold glove written all over him. Ryan Sweeney is going to be a very good player as well. Those trades Beane pulled in the offseason are going to pay off big time.

The "Rich Harden trade talk" is starting to heat up again. I've watched Hudson, Haren, Mulder, Giambi, Swisher, Tejada and Zito all leave for various reasons but trading Harden would be absurd and would rip my heart out. Injuries or not, when the guy is right he is a top 5 starting pitcher and right now he is RIGHT. He made the Phillies look like a bunch of idiots the other night.

God I hope you move Harden. You always seem to come out just fine when you unload talent, but I'd rather see a pitcher like Harden out of the division and take my chances that what you get in return wont be quite as good.

I love Harden and agree he's a top 5 starter hands down but if I were Beane and I got blown away by an offer I'd jump at it. Harden's injury history worries me a lot. Beane is one of the best GMs in the game so if he does trade Harden, you know he got a good package back.

I'll be at Wednesday game to witness the conclusion of a sweep hopefully :tongue2:

I love the ESPN.com poll, which series this week is more interesting - Red Sox-Rays or Red Sox-Yankees....a pretty important series missing from list.

Great pitching match up, I was really hoping we'd get to avoid Harden altogether though. I always seem to miss the good pitching matchup by a day :tantrum:

    LOL!

I'm just REALLY happy that you are not seeing Blanton. He is awful right now, he's throwing batting practice.

You don't get Duchscherer either. I'm pretty sure Eveland goes Thursday.

I'm really considering MLB.TV. I get so few A's games here, it's all Blue Jays and Mariners. I was going to buy it until Beane cleaned house, I had no interest in paying to watch 90 losses but, I don't think this is a 90 loss ball club.

Well guys I've spent the last 4 days after work looking for it,but can't seem to find it.If anyone knows where our Halos offense went please let them know ASAP. It's been hard to watch them play lately.:pity:Hopefully we can get back on track tonight against the A's.We managed to make Smith look like a Cy Young winner last night.:tantrum: Ok I'm done ranting....for now :D

If we make the Smith's of the world look like Cy Young who do we make Harden look like? Santana better come with his best stuff tonight. Our pitchers just have no margin of error with this offense right now. I mean we threw a no-hitter and lost lol!

Mickey Hatcher better get this thing turned around or the calls for his firing will start getting louder.

It seems to me like our hitters(for lack of a better term...lol) "focus" better against the elite pitchers in the league.I'm starting to feel sorry for our Pitching staff. We have got to get this thing turned around.I saw where last year we had a team batting avg. of .284 and this year we're around .254.

    Bizarre lineup tonight

    Figgins
    Kotchman
    Izturis
    Vlad
    Hunter
    GA
    GMJ
    Kendrick
    Mathis

Guess at this point might as well try anything. I thought they should try Kotchman in the 3 hole, lets see how he does at 2.

I couldn't watch the game. Did they mention why Huston Street did not come in?

    LOL!

I don't care if Tony Gwynn, Mickey Mantle and Barry Bonds are due up, match ups mean nothing to me if your closer is available.

Geren has questions to answer. Embree is a train wreck, I've never trusted him.
