I find it weird that tonight Chad Henne has already thrown 2 touchdowns in the first quarter and Tannehill cant throw for two touchdowns in four quarters. Henne makes good decisions and has really grown . before people get all huffy I think it is wise to admit that maybe it is our coaches or former coaches that has killed the development of our qbs past and present. when players leave Miami they do better and when they came here they played sub par . I think the blame hasn't been placed enough on the former coaches . Now I know that Houston sucks but I would take Jacksonville's offensive coordinator over Miami 's hands down . I don't know if I can say that Chad is really better then Tannehill but I am thinking that Miami may have given up on him a little too soon.
Very insightful post. I think we should dump Tannehill, bring back Sparano and see if we can coax Ronnie Brown here. After all, the last time we won the AFCE, Sparano was the coach. I don't know if he is better than Philbin, but I think he may be. Wildcat 2014 here we come!!
this should ne moved to general NFL and i don't know maybe you should move to another team as well, all this hatin....
This is a prank right? Chad Henne has 2 TD passes against the worst team in the NFL, so he's some kind of good QB and that means Tannehill is bad? Obviously this is your first time watching Henne this year.
Texans actually have the 3rd ranked defense, and Henne has had some nice games this year. He's the perfect backup/spot starter. I would bet that if Henne was on the Packers they wouldn't be free falling without Rodgers like they are right now.
He has a 74.4 QB rating and has thrown more picks than TDs even with his 2 tonight. He's a fine backup, but that's not the argument the OP was making. And the Texans are 17th in passing TDs allowed.
That's because Henne didn't throw for 2 in this same quarter. Double check your own facts. Henne has never thrown for more TD's then INT's.
Yet they have given up 20 passing TDs and only got 5 INTs on the season before this game (7 of 12 games had a multi-td passer). Oh, and they're the 27th scoring defense (26.9 ppg), and 24th in opponent passer rating (93.8).
Well, here's my counter points 1). Houston sucks. As in "owner of the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft" sucks. 2). Chad Henne is still having a statistically bad year.
I like rooting for Henne but I dont want him on the Phins. He clams up in the clutch. I always like watching him scramble though. Remember that Pats game he looked like Chad Vick?
you forgot..... 3) Jax traded its 1st round LT to Baltimore 4) lost its other high 1st round tackle to IR. 5) was w/o its high 1st round WR the first 4 games and then lost him for the season a few games later 6) had little to no ground game to speak of to start the season.
No, Henne is the sort of Qb who will take time to develop, he has a rocket arm..but no balls Be that as it may, no, he does not "stink"
Good thing the refs were there. Henne was about to kick that dude's ***. Then we'd have had to read threads about how Tannehill never kicks a defender's ***.
I will say, Tannehill needs to be more decisive in tucking and running like Henne has shown tonight, especially when he's the better, faster athlete. We should have at least 3 more first downs extended each game from Tannehill's feet.
