Just drivin along drivin along. Question is, would we welcome him back if we got a favorable review from the investigation..?
I'd take him back at a low price for the simple fact that idk if it's possible to get four quality upgrades at oline. Draft 2 within first 3 rounds and sign a top free agent. If better options are available to replace incognito you take it but honestly it's gonna be tough finding all upgrades in 1 offseason. Bears made it look easy but they hit on a what 5th rounder? That's not always the case and can't expect any type of rookie, let alone a 5th rounder come in and play at a high level on a weekly basis.
If the investigation sheds a favorable light on Richie Incognito you absolutely welcome him back. To do so would be to spit in the face of truth. However, if the investigation proceedes and a negative light is shone on Richie he has played his last down as a Dolphin, and quite possibly in the NFL. He has not played well this year. However, I have to believe that if he is found relatively innocent, he would be an upgrade at RG at the very least.
I would not welcome him back .He is up for a contract renewal next year and he would be a distraction the rest of this year. This team needs to clean up its image and Incognito is not going to suddenly change .There may be other players who have been bullied by him still on the team. He got into a lot of trouble in college where most of his sins were covered up.He has been trouble in every team he has been a part of .We know now that he has been involved at least one incident where the team had to cover up for him. There are probably more. Add to that that he is just not that good of a player. He is not worth the trouble IMO.Its time to move on without him.
If the team wants him and the coach wants him that should answer any questions on if he is worthy. Martins mommy doesn't count.
Even in the best case outcome with the Martin investigation, Incognito shouldn't have an opportunity to do anything other than probably draw game checks for the last couple of games and walk in free agency this off-season. He's too much of a dumbass and too much of a distraction relative to his level of play.
Man. Crunch, idk if you can turn your back on the guy if the review comes back positive for the team, we might be in the middle of a playoff race and I think if you do that, with the support that he has in the locker room, I think you risk blowing up your locker room.. If I was the coach, I think it needs to be unanimous that my guys welcome him back..definitely have to listen to the pulse of your team on this one.. Of course the mistakes he made leading up to this, the level of joking, the public drunken stupor, the golf thing, he needs to be checked, but I'm not sure not letting him back is the right thing to do.
Dumass being a given, he was a probowl player last year, was playing with a horrible player to his left, and I don't think you can fire a guy based on these accusations coming back false.
I believe Incognito gave up 6 sacks in like 8 or 9 games, that's terrible. He's not worth the headache.
I can only imagine the press conference if they bring him back. "Well, he only called some people n*****, and he was honorary anyway, and that thing at the golf course he was just messing around, oh and that staffer he made ethnic remarks about, he was just doing a Borat impression. Richie's a top representative of our organizations values"

How favorable could the report possibly be? He still did the things he did and said the stuff he said
yeah I know Schmoot, idk man, your really basing some of these things off media reports and we really don't know what type of friend he really is..he might be a drunk who has your back to the end, tough to turn your back ya know?
That may be. And the other guys on the line are free to continue being his friend. I don't want the guy who is on multiple tapes calling people n***** on my team. I probably would've cut Riley Cooper too, but at least he was contrite and didn't have a pattern of other boorish behavior.
If the team takes this approach, they need to cut everyone who did it, or the players won't respect the team. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Disagree. You make an example and then everyone else falls in line. If the players can't understand why Richie cannot return then they are dumber than I thought. I think they get it
I highly highly doubt that martins awful pay did not affect Cognitos responsibilities..mentally it must be tough for an Olineman knowing you had a player like that playing next to you..
Oh man, now you lost me, Riley Cooper was a disgusting pric, who maliciously said that word to degrade they race, he should of gotten his *** kicked and kicked off the team, please don't make me post the context for which Riley Cooper said the word, and please don't tell me that Cognitos saying of the word was no different. If that is your reasoning then I disagree with that particular stance.. If you just don't want him because he joked around with the word then ok, but don't give me that other crap.
Jerry had a better year last season with Martin's even worse playing last season. Martin's awful play would effect tight ends and runningbacks more than Incognito. Little to no excuse for being beat one-on-one so often.
I've watched incognito in isolation, jmo, he's better than the board gives him credit for..he did make the probowl last year, and I'm sure it wasn't based on player popularity, which confirmed my findings last year..this year the only thing that's different is an awful player playing next to him, and on the oline that's going to affect your own personal rhythm and contunuity.
He was quite good the second half of last season, but pretty much outside of that he's topped out at solid, including this year. I think he's also one of the things ****ing up the blocking scheme.
Could be the case, when I think of zone blocking scheme I don't picture Cognito hopping out of his stance deftly, once again I'd like to see him play next to a real left tackle though..
If Richie is cleared I think you have to bring him back. I also think he's binge drunk and capable of some pretty nasty stuff but the way the team rallied around him indicates to me that cutting him would be a bigger distraction than letting him play out his contract. I can't wait to see how this thing plays out. It's starting to look like nothing that was reported was true.
Adrian Peterson says yes, and some people need to grow a set. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...razier-things-n-word-said-185732976--nfl.html
Cleared of what? He admitted that he left those messages and spoke that way to Martin and others in the locker room. His excuse is that it's somehow ok due to their "brotherhood" Something tells me Ross isn't too thrilled with that sort of brotherhood
Cooper's team voted and allowed him back. It was also a first offense. Richie is on about chance #8, not even counting the golf course incident or this incident with the ethnic staffer. Let him get chance #9 somewhere else
Cleared of bullying/harassment. Its very possible that all Incognito is found guilty of is using the N word, which is something other Caucasians have openly admitted. I dont think you're justified in suspending someone for using that word, especially when the context is friends joking with one another. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
We disagree. Even if you can't keep him suspended he's committed enough release worthy offenses and brought embarrassment to the organization
Sure, but then the team is punishing a player for past transgressions to make themselves look better. That is sending a message to their players that isnt going to go over well. If you wanted to cut him for the golf course incident, you're more than justified. But you're essentially telling players that anything they do will be hung over their head in case the team ever needs a scapegoat to save face. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
At least one was from he and Pouncey not being on the same page. That being the Atkins sack early vs Cincy. For some reason Pouncey slid to his right and doubled Peko with Jerry. Now would you do that instead of doubling the best pass rushing DT in the league? Incognito's body language indicated to me he was expecting help from Pouncey on Atkins. Before this season, Richie had consistently had low sack totals. 4, 3, and 4 for the prior 3 seasons with Miami.
