Is Philip Wheeler's inability to stop the run or make a tackle in the gaps a concern for anyone else. PFF ranked him in the bottom 3 for 4-3 olb against the run. It is blatantly obvious when watching him play.

Memo to Dolphins' brass: Do not sign any Raiduhs castoff. Gilbril ring a bell? If the raiders don't resign or want you back then you don't belong in the league.

He has issues tackling and dislodging from blockers. He so far, has been a big, pricey, disappointment. I'd like to see Jenkins get some of his snaps.

He played his best game of the season Sunday.

To me, Wheeler is a one trick pony whose one trick does not cover for his weaknesses.

A DE can be "just" a speed rusher, a Lb in the 4-3 cannot

I would throw Ellerbe in there as a problem for our run defense. PFF currently ranks him 49th against the run.

Maybe. He was pretty good in the Indy game too.

They are both really bad. Screw the dead cap money, they should be cut by the next GM.

Solution: Switch to a base 3-4 with Wake and Olivier on the outside, Misi at the Mike and Jordan at the Will.

You also get Starks,Odrick, and Soliai on the field at the same time.

They could do this as soon as Misi is healthy, but they won't.

I guarantee our run defense would improve, but I shudder to think what the first few games for Olivier in coverage out in space would be like. I know he has the athleticism, but I don't think he has ever played any LB, right?

I'm not sure how Jordan would be against the run from the will position, but we know he can cover. Didn't he play rover in college?

Burnett is 9th at 3.9 vs Wheeler who is 34th at -10.1.

Our LBs are still a problem despite the money spent we have taken a step back in that area. We have so many glaring holes to fill, oline, lbs, rb, its going to be hard to fill them via the draft and free agency in one year.
