No, let him go to Phoenix.

Dolphins need Gus Malzahn and Jimmy Garoppolo for the future success of the organization.

Why do you people still blame Tannehill for the 37 sacks? Horrible coaching and a turnstile Oline is at fault. I haven't seen many throw the ball while on the run as him, why don't they just let him bootleg until they get the Oline fixed up? He has such great upside.
Any and all talk of replacing the kid is ridiculous. Then again this the dolphins so yeah anything stupid is possible.

Not all the sacks are Tannehill's fault but many are by holding onto the ball way too long instead of throwing the ball away. I do agree our ol is horrible this is another reason to fire Ireland. However you can not say all the fumbles and interceptions are the fault of the ol either. Facts point to that Tannehill has shown no progress as a starter, yes not all his fault as has to work with what he has.

Granted out line sucks no argument here but one of the things I don't see from this guy enough with his supposed ability is to extend a play.I have very rarely seen this from him.He always seems to turn the wrong way right into the defender.
Another major problem I see is his lack of touch on the long ball. This is one of the reasons the one trick pony has a career low 1 td thru 9 games. He either under throws him or over throws in thurs night case he throws it out of bounds.I am sure when he eventually hits one everybody will say we are wrong and he has great touch and the detractors were wrong.

Talent-wise, strategy-wise, that's not even a question. Peyton Manning as a free agent was an infinitely harder question than that question, from a pure talent and strategy standpoint.

But the fact of the matter is, I don't ever want him on my team because of the things he did. And yes, I believe he did them. Not the Vegas one, the other one.

Whut? Dude no! First of all Ben is not leaving Pittsburgh...He aint the problem right now with that team, it's there geriatric defense. Losing Pouncey was big too. They'd be stupid to trade him. Plus Tannehill deserves more time...LITERALLY.

People blame Wallace, and he does have 6 drops, however tannehill's deep ball is as much to blame.

IMO, you don't pass up on a 31 year old Ben Roethlisberger for a FOURTH ROUND PICK just because you have Ryan Tannehill...unless it's a non-football choice. And that's exactly the choice I would ultimately make, the non-football choice. He's a scumbag rapist.

I usually don't care what athletes do in their free time, everyone's got their own morale code, but this ^. Don't need animals like this for people to look up to. I'd be pissed if something like this happened.

I don't want Rape Ben on the team because I feel his best years are in the rear view mirror ( there are a lot of tread on those tires ) but you have to add Tannehill's astounding lack of pocket awareness to the bad coaching and turn style o-line to your comment above .

cap # is $18.9m next season and $18.4m the following season. But that's to the Steelers, if he's traded, the team trading for him is looking at base salaries of $12.1 and $11.6.

oh and  at the notion of a 4th round pick.

the holding the ball to long argument has been proven wrong, but feel free to ignore the facts so you can in your own mind prove your argument. Sorry so tired of misleading arguments.

My biggest issue is if Tannehill were to get rid of it every time he had pressure, we would never complete a pass

The fact is, RT has had 0 support from oline and run game. D can pin ears back and come after Ryan. The fact that we have been in every game and are scoring points is due to Tannehill. Take him away we may be lucky to score 10 a game.

Yes, that's correct. Mainly because his bodyguards physically barred the bathroom door to not allow the girl's friends to come rescue her, and so the only two witnesses were him and her. And since she was drunk off the alcohol he had illegally bought for her, the prosecution made the decision that her testimony alone wouldn't prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt. And in the mean time, getting her up on the stand to give her testimony would only put her through more trauma. The prosecution decided she'd had enough trauma to last quite a while.

I'd take Ben as a backup....Shaub? Don't make me laugh.

Ryan is our guy. Just give him a chance without looking for a replacement every 2 weeks.

What scares me is that with the atrocious staffing, coaching and media surrounding the Fins....Tannehill might be scooped up by a more promising franchise when his contract is up in a few year.....Make no mistake, franchise QBs can be stolen if you don't treat them right/give them a good envrionment.

Tannehill is doing okay as a starter, yes, but he's also playing a very limited role in the offense because he's not ready to be a starting NFL quarterback.

To give an example, one play that jumps out in my mind last week was late in the 2nd quarter. It was a 2nd down and we were around the 30-35, with Wallace split wide and Matthews in the slot. Matthews runs a little slant for a 5-7 yard gain BUT he was the secondary receiver on that play...Wallace was the primary. You can tell because the angle of the camera shows Wallace in the background the entire time, staring at Tannehill throughout the entire play. Wallace takes one step and stops for the screen pass, the defender bites up and Wallace breaks down the sideline...in open space in 2 or 3 steps. As soon as Wallace broke he starts waving his arm for the pass because he knows he has 1 on 1 coverage and he's gone, yet Tannehill has already locked onto Matthews and doesn't see the east 7 points.

While the line is a massive problem, if Matt Moore were in on that play then it was a definite touchdown. It's not fully the blocking that's holding Tannehill back, it's going through his progressions quick enough to take advantage of his wideouts. That's why Clay has so many deep passes this season; he's usually #3-4 in checkdowns so it's natural to look his way last...Wallace and Hartline are simply getting quick glances and then it's on to the next guy. While we can certainly win with Tannehill, we could be winning big with Moore or another veteran QB that has decent pocket presence. All the tools are there for Tannehill to succeed but it's been the same story over and over again, he makes the right decisions pre-snap and then freezes in the pocket. This is a kid that can run, mind you, and throws a wicked spiral when rolling out. We're not seeing that though because he has absolutely zero pocket presence and he's rushing through his reads to compensate.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of this kid and I think in 1-2 years under the right coaching staff, he could be the next Drew Bledsoe or better. They need to bench him now though because he can't see the big plays downfield and he's not feeling the pocket collapse at all. If we keep him in for the last seven games, then he's going to end up as a Henne version 2.0 with all of his potential wasted. If you're a real fan of this kid then you have to see it; he's just not ready in some aspects of his game.

The lack of a run game is misleading. The Dolphins average 4.0 YPC. He has legitimate arm strength issues or touch issues, whatever you want to pin on the fact his comp % of 11-20 is 47%. The mistakes are also legitimately his fault, 18 turnovers can't ALL be blamed on the O-Line. maybe 4 or 5 but the rest are mistakes he's making he has to improve on. He has a lot to work on in the offseason which many people are willing to give him but he's shown nothing this season to say the organization doesn't need to bring in a QB in FA or to draft one in 2nd or 3rd round to put pressure on Tannehill to get better or as a safeguard if he continues to make the same mistakes he's making this year.

I'd still like to see what Tanny can do if he ever gets 2-3 secs to work. Taking a snap and running for your life isn't how you should play QB.
