I'm not a scout or guru or anything of the sort, but Manziel just has that knack, that natural ability to make plays.

The thing that amazez me when he runs around is he often he runs to the right spots, where he won't get tackled.

When some QBs move around it seems like they walk right to where the defender is who will tackle them, this happens to RT quite a bit.

As for his off the field stuff, it doesn't bother me. He shows up and plays every game. I get that in the pros you've got to dedicate yourself a lot more, but he seems to take football seriously enough. When he's off, he likes to be off. I don't have a huge problem with that.

Totally agree, but our biggest problem in the past has been sustaining success from year to year. Far too often we have gone from having a winning record to mediocrity the following year. If we were to finish this season strong and have another strong season next year I think that could be the sustained success that helps vault a team into national relevance as well as increase our recruiting down the road.

This season has been incredible, unbelievable, and magical. I guess I should enjoy the ride rather than already selfishly thinking about next year.

That would be a no brainer regardless of who is in the FO next year. I hope they are sucking intentionally for Manziel. Trade up, do whatever.

Tannehill can not throw a deep ball and can not extent plays with his feet. His pocket presence is horrible. I have no faith in him at all.

yes i would draft him in a heartbeat, especially if we got a competent head coach and o-coordinator.

Well...I happen to think Manziel is going to be a very good NFL QB, but I see no reason for us to draft him. I honestly think that Ryan Tannehill is the future here. Playing behind a crappy offensive line, throwing to guys that were drafted in the seventh round (Matthews), injuries to other decent receivers (Keller,Gibson), and having your supposedly sure handed stud WR drop 2 out of every 3 passes thrown his way...I'd say Tannehill is doing good despite the circumstances. He had to do it all Monday night, and I mean EVERYTHING for us.
His one constant on offense has been Brian Hartline, everyone else has either been hurt of inconsistant. Even Charles Clay has fallen off a bit. We have little to no running game to speak either.
I was down on Tannehill a few weeks ago but I don't think he's the problem with this team. I also have a lot of belief in Pat Devlin so I honestly see no reason for us to draft another QB unless it's a steal in the mid rounds somewhere. I mean if Manziel was still sitting there in round 3 you'd have to think about it.
Thing is I honestly believe in Ryan Tannehill. He's improved in the areas that I personally was concerned about and he's learning week by week even now...You can see that.

I've been watching football for almost 4 decades . Manziel , at the college level , is a rare talent . I don't believe I have ever seen a college player pressure elite college defenses the way Manziel does.

Sure he would be worth a shot if we should be so lucky.

Why trade up for a guy when he will be available anywhere in the first round. Anyone who takes him earlier is crazy.

Crazy, why? Manziel is the one who abused Alabama defense, twice; a defense that consistently allows less then 10 pts to best college teams.

Do you think it's been all the Offensive Line, because there are some other Quarterbacks with bad offensive line's who are doing pretty well this year despite high sack and qb hurry numbers (R. Wilson -26, T. Brady -28, Roethlisberger-30, Drew Brees-23, Tony Romo -26, Andy Dalton-28, Nick Foles - 11 in 3 strts). Miami's offensive line is historically bad but still, being Tannehill is 25th in the league in QBR, in front of only the likes of Blaine Gabbert, Geno Smith, etc. Even if you don't like the QBR stat, his passer rating is only above Christian Ponder, Chade Henne and EJ Manuel. I can't overlook what I see as regression. I respect your opinion and myself like Tennehill's heart, composure and vocal leadership. I just am not sure about his arm strength, decision making and ability to protect the football (13TD to 18 TO). It's not his weapons for according to everyone Wallace was a great acquisition, Gibson was on his way to a pro-bowl, hartline is the heart of the WR CORPS and Charles Clay is a fan favorite, so it must fall solely on his shouders and a bit of OL shoudlers. That being said he MUST come back next year to play but he must like Chip Kelly did with Vick, Tannehill should have to win the QB job from a young rookie QB, such as a Bryce Petty, Aaron Murray or Chris Hackenburg if we can get either of those in 2nd or 3rd. Competition always incites better play!

Nope. Tannehill just needs a better Oline. Any GM worth anything is going to build on him , not start over. 2 years ago when we had Chad Henne I understand why no one wanted to come here. But this is really an attractive Team because there is so much talent that just needs to be coached better and used to its potential. Tannehill will help us score a better GM IMO.

    I couldn't disagree more.

Our entire offense is mediocre to bad.

Our OL is horrific, except for Pouncey, and their are some serious questions there.........Our WR's are mediocre especially with Gibson on IR. Wallace may actually be bad. Matthews may very well be a more complete player than Wallace.

Our RB's are mediocre to bad. Miller being mediocre and Thomas being bad. Our QB is mediocre. He may be solid one day but he will never be great.

Our TE's are nothing special at all.

If we aren't able to sign most of our defensive FA's next spring, come draft day we will need about 15 high picks to become a talented team.

Ireland has been a complete failure. The contracts of Ellerbe and Wheeler are just abysmal. Our best producing defenders by far are all FA's, even Wake is having an off year.

If there was ever an organization that needed to be torn down and completely rebuilt it is the 2013 Dolphins.

It would have been so easy to avoid most of this by just making some sound decisions the last two off seasons. Now, it's too late. Time to let it rain 40 days and 40 nights and release the fountains of the deep.

I love Manziel as a college QB. I just don't know how he will work out at the NFL level. Right now he is able to use his speed and athletic ability to avoid the rush at the college level. I just don't see him being able to run around and create plays at the NFL which he is able to do at the college level against players who don't have the same abilities as NFL defensive players.

I don't know if Tannehill is the long term answer at the QB position for the Dolphins. Until he is able to play behind a competent offensive line for an entire season, it is just too difficult to judge if he is the right QB or not. I think the Dolphins have far more needs on this team than adding another QB at this time.

If Manziel were to drop into the third round and he was still on the board when the Dolphins selected in the third round, I would have no problem with them taking him at that time. I just think that right now, upgrading the OL and other areas of need are far more important in the first two rounds of next years draft than drafting another QB, who may or may not be better than what the Dolphins already have.

Hell, if he is there in the 2nd round?? I say we pass up a stud OL and a playmaking TE and use our 2nd and 3rd to trade up to get him.

I think he will be able to do the same things from a movement standpoint, his anticipation is just as good as Russell Wilson in that dept, he's so quick and precise wth his Qb athleticism, my worry is injury And how long can he go.if I was to draft him I would completely overhaul the offense to match his strengths.. players who know how to extend their routes and have a feel for a scrambling Qb..

Give Tannehill some more time and wait for Jameis Winston if it doesn't work out.

When will people learn. For every Russel Wilson there are dozens of Pat White, Marcus Vick etc... I'd bet dollars to donuts Manzeil ends up in the later category.

I don't know, it could just be typical college kid stuff. I think he's actually better this year than last year, it tells me he actually works on his game. He spent a lot of the offseason working on his game, I think he takes football seriously and wants to be great. His attitude is troubling at times but I do think it gets exaggerated because of the microscope he's under. He isn't a guy that is getting DUI's, raping coeds or getting arrested, he's a guy with a big ego that is enjoying his run as Big Man on Campus at A&M. There are some character concerns which to me does make him a guy to pass in the 1st round but look at his games against the best team in college, Alabama, he put up more points on them than anyone has even come close to. He made a couple of mistakes this year and his defense is terrible. If A&M had a good defense they are undefeated right now and he's running away with the Heisman. He's gotten better this year, that says something to me. I think he should stay in college another year but I seriously doubt he will. If he stayed another year --and stayed out of trouble--I think he'd be a top 10 pick.
