Yeah I was thinking QB coach would be good too. Either way, get his brain into the organization, because there's very little brain here at the present moment.
kudos to Fin D for coming clean, i´m on board with everything that changes the culture of the team for the better as well now.....i was always a jeff ireland and joe philbin supporter, but the way this team came out and played last night was a disgrace...let´s change this thing quickly and take no prisoners....i will take a look if there is a john gruden bandwagon out there already, if not, i´m riding shotgun
The thing with that is that it shouldn't have been a core argument for years. The failure of the offensive line and the unnecessary linebacker swap of this year are the most damning indictments, and besides that we're talking about what? Wide receivers 2012? What else is there? The 2009 offensive line falling apart I think was extraordinary bad luck. Cornerbacks were appropriately revamping that year, as was linebackers originally.
The only thing this thread is a specific example of is how you dragged a thread off topic and complained endlessly about your wrongdoing. Back on topic.
Lol, Fin D did dish out quite a bit, in the past year. And he wasn't always so elegant in doing so. That said, I suggest a thread in the rant area, not directed at anyone in particular, but everyone who was talked down to regarding Ireland, go in there and say, "I Told You So!!!!!" to nobody in particular, get it off your chest, and come back here and talk Dolphins football.
I dished out a lot to people whose arguments were bad and who have acted like some people in this thread, not because they wanted Ireland fired. For example, if you think Ireland made the decisions when Parcells was here I argued with you. If you thought Ireland made the decisions when Parcells was here and the only contribution to the forum was, "Ireland sucks" or similar in every thread, then yes i dished a lot out those people.
Not till he's finally fired. The dragon hasn't been slayed yet. But I think the knight is on his horse.
Things ive learned in this thread so far..... 1) dont apologize for anything.....I guess... 2) it seems Justright must have pre-emptively made like 15 accounts and knows how to change/reset his ip.
So again, now that you realize they need to go your reasons are the only logical ones. Everybody else's reasons are stupid and they are still idiots. Could you possibly be any more condecending?
You have no honest idea how Ross feels about Ireland. And quoting a self-agrandizing jacka** with an axe to grind like Michael Silver is to lose additional credibility. ESPN trots him out every time something comes up with the Dolphins or Ireland so he can start spinning the grindstone and rehashing the past. You're like the guy who runs up after the play is over and jumps on the pile, then wonders why he was flagged.
The quarterback position in 2011, the wide receiver position in 2009 and again in 2012, the tight end position pretty much the whole time, the corner position in 2009 (two rookie starters was a BAD idea), right tackle in 2011, pass rusher opposite Cameron Wake pretty much every year since 2010. There has been a detectable inability to anticipate problems in Jeff Ireland's GMing for a number of years.
Who got banned? 5rings? If so that's nuts. He didn't do anything to get banned except give his opinion
It's not always the opinion nor the message. Most of the time, it is the delivery thereof that gets a person in trouble.
No. Not everyone else's reasons are wrong. Never said that or implied that. Let's talk about you for a second. You came around last year, out of the blue, *****ed and moaned how we were a 5 or less win team. Blasted everyone on or around the team. Never actually backed up a single thing you said, ranted and raved. Then we bet about the record. I took 8 and over you took the under. In the process you treated me like I was insane and stupid and homer for thinking we were exactly average at 8-8. You even repeatedly insulted me for not betting money. We didn't suck real bad out of the gate and you vanished. In fact, you weren't heard again until we lost our 9th game. Then there was nothing again. Nothing through the 3 game win streak to start the season. Only since the scandal have you reared your head again. Seems to me, you're not innocent here nor do you actually root for this team to be good. In fact when the team is doing better than you predict...you hide. Weird if you ask me.
What I like about this thread is everyone is being realistic and looking at the positive things still going for this team. We have a pretty good defense and Tannehill is getting some well needed experience that will only help him when we get an Oline that can actually block worth a damn. Ireland is history. He's responsible for getting Philbin the tools to do his Job. I really like Philbin but I'm not sure he has the Fire to get the job done. Referee's don't respect him either. A lot of Talent here. When we went head coach shopping 2 yrs ago we had no QB. Lots of problems. Its a much more attractive situation here in Miami and I think we could attract the best of the best this time out.
For me, it's always about being a supportive fan first, I strongly feel the culture will continue to deteriote if we don't take into account that our words and voice do make a difference positively and negatively, no matter how serious we take trying to play the game of projection and evaluation, my first priority when a player or staff signs here is to wipe the slate clean and give them a fair platform to be successful and prove any of my predetermined conclusions wrong, before I criticize. In my mind I couldn't attach much to Ireland while Parcells was here, there were just too many variables in play that he had to deal with that directly affected how a normal GM would be judged, if some of you know his specific picks while Parcells was here then that's great on you, the only way personally I could judge him as accurately as possible was once Parcells was gone, that may not be right, and you can criticize me for that, but with limited info from our view, I thought, stated, and defended the stance that in year three mid season we should know where we're at in terms of our GM..I was neither pro or against in that time, merely defending the right to a fair trial and thought three years was appropo..this is also where I think many of Fin-D stances, debates stemmed from.. Here we are mid third year... I think you can make the case that the handling and designing of the oline is pretty large indictment of some poor instincts in the evaluation dept..with a severe lack of understanding of the genetic, physical and mental part of the evaluation process. The acquisition of tyson Clabo, a prime example, the signing of Lance Louis another, the drafting of Jon Martin was a complete mistake on multiple levels, mentally and physically, the bringin in of Eric Steinbach, to study that guys movement, not see that he was mentally checked out, then think yeah I want to sign that guy, was so, so poor..the drafting of a poorly conditioned and built athlete the likes of John Jerry..The game is to advanced to invest in college players who know they have the talent to go pro but not the intellect to understand that the their body is the key tool in the whole equation. This is pretty hard to see past or to have and confidence moving forward based on the results of this one unit.. some people wanna talk about advanced analytics being the future, I would agree that it must be incorporated on some level, however count me as one where it will be on a smaller scale, imo the study of genetics, position specific movement, the specific intelligence to understand what is work ethic and how to achieve maximum output of the body, and the psyche should become the prescedent.. Until we can have a record of player decisions on these potential GM'S it's pretty much trusting whoevers in charge to determine whether or not the guy has an eye for talent..I would like to stay away from the admin side and go heavy on a up and comer film geek... Philbin...I thought last nite was an oppurtunity to show us what he could do in the motivational dept..which is something I truly believe in, I've said this for years, it's gonna take a special group of men to win a championship playing in this town and especially in that stadium".. It's gonna take a coach that knows how to get his team motivated, I'm not interested in him being an offensive coordinator, I'm interested in whoever has the best presence to motivate players to become their best, and toughest ..together..playing for each other...I didn't see that last nite, and was surely wrong thinking we would be an angry team that came out together, the personalities on the team did not look good out there, maybe they have to have a normal work week to get their minds right and last week was to much, but right now, the arrow is pointing down for Philbin, if he can get this team to 9 and 7 then ok, it could point up again, I'd look at that as it took some time to get them on the same page after this stuff, but you got there, and I would consider that an improvement from last year, considering the distractions, and that he was strapped with very poor offensive line talent, if that happened, I think I would have to think about letting him play out the last year of his contract if he can get us to 9 and 7.. Whatever goes down from here out, I like to look at the positives, if this coach proves he can't get it done then it's very exciting for me to get fresh blood in our organization to see if they can..
To add to this thought....for me it's the fact that the team has been completely flat in every game I can remember in Philbin's tenure, except 3. Last year against OAK, and this year against IND & NE. They look so unprepared every single week. It's maddening...
I spoke to you the way you came across and spoke to me. And I guess I was right to piss and moan about this team. I do root for the team to win. I was a season ticket holder for awhile. And go back and look at my posts from earlier this year. I was very excited and praised the team. I was trying to be positive but this team showed that there was nothing to be positive about. You are not some super fan or something. I'm just as big of a fan as anyone on here but I'm not blind and will say that they suck, if they suck. And sorry I can't be on here every single day like you are. I come around when I can and post when I can. I just cant stand people who think they are smarter than everyone else.
That's why I was saying last night, i wonder if he was sort of hinting he's available. I dunno, I haven't watched a whole lot of his MNF stuff, so I don't know if he's always like that, but he sure sounded like he slipping Ross some love notes.
I'd take that guy in any capacity...that's where I think an owner can make a difference, recognize a dynamic personality, and secure it.there is no question in my mind that guy singlehadedly raised everybody else's game..can that be taught, no, but his mind can motivate others..
If you bring in a new regime, I don't think you handcuff him with the QB. If the new regime feels they can win with Tanny so be it. You just don't make it a pre-requisite for taking the job. I happen to think you can win with him. Right now a lot of people are pointing to the missed deep throw to Wallace but we see top QBs miss deep throws every game. It's just that we're so anemic up front that his one deep pass gets amplified. As for possible head coaches, I know he's off the radar screen, but I like what David Shaw has done since replacing Harbaugh.
I would strongly suggest you... and you.... use the ignore feature for each other. Also you misspelled condescending.
I Was thinking the same thing! Remember that rookie QB class thing he did before the draft? This is a good Team that just needs some direction. No one wanted a blank canvas last time around and I think we settled for Philbin when everyone else jetted. Its different now. Our defense could be elite and Our offense has a great nucleus of talent. Dismantle the Oline build it up around pouncy. Love to get Chuckie............
sadly you're right sadly we are starting over sadly I'm getting tired of waiting for the rebuild to be over m
