    Martin's lawyer respons

One thing I will say and it was a suspicion I had from reading the initial release...was that this sounds awfully like power-lifter/weight room talk. Not sure if many of you have been exposed to that environment, but the things that are said to get people amped is pretty ridiculous...but never meant to be taken literally. Incognito's initial reference to Martin saying on Twitter that he had been working out for 10 weeks kinda confirms this.

I just think they were taking a despondent teammate and trying to get him pissed off...and by extension to actual perform.

If there was a physical assault, I guess that's something.

The words... those types of words come out at places where I play basketball. They're ugly and dirty and morally reprehensible... and they're said and accepted on the court/field. You just play the game. And I can almost guarantee that Jonathan Martin is not the only one to have yo-mama or yo-sister sex "jokes" thrown at him.

Also, I get that that kind of stuff is hard to hear and some people want no part of it. But really, I think that's probably just a part of the NFL. We're kind of back to the sausage getting made stuff. It's not for everyone and evidently not for Jonathan Martin. But lawsuits? Taking teammate and now teammates down? That's the way to fight back? Whatever support he had from any other players who might have been hedging during the investigation, I think he's lost.

The freaking out part or the war part?

    This is pretty much war.

Rich Eisen said it was "ugly on both sides", and he's right.

I thought I was alone in thinking that.... Why does this come to a head right after his demotion ? That alone is some good evidence against him.

I Hope the 'physical attack' is the report we were hearing about Dion Jordan getting into it with him, in which Cogs came to Martins Defense and broke it up.

Because that is exactly what is said, right?

The dude was bullied. What Incognito did to him may not have had any affect on you (because well know know how awesome and bad *** you are), and it probably wouldn't have had an affect on me. And I know DAMN well that neither one of us would have handled it his way on a reply, but we aren't the ones who were bullied here.

Jon Martin was. And Jon felt that he couldn't take it anymore and here we are.

All I am saying is that if anyone thought that a highly intelligent, large, professional athlete was going to got through all of this, that there had to be more to it than a simple prank and singular instance of racism and (somewhat) jokingly threats of violence.

Martin has been relatively quiet through this process and has had to endure his entire team lashing out against him. So at that point, yes, he is going to release more of his evidence to help sway the public opinion back on his side. It's human nature and it's how these types of things always play out.

Anyone with half a brain could have deduced that.

Now feel free to go back to worshipping Incognito, or whatever it is you do.

    Well away from here
I do have a small part of me chuckling when "physical assault" is used by a profession football player in these terms. Dude, you're involved with 60-75 physical assaults a game, or you better be if you want to keep your job.

If you play this game at this level how could you not handle a physical assault? It's what you do for a living.

I'm not condoning anything, but hearing this is just strange.

This is why people usually just settle this stuff, pay up and move on. Honestly I am just sick of this nonsense at this point. I can't even watch a game, listen to the radio or watch any sports show without hearing about this stupid story. Its not that big of a deal its at the point where I don't even understand the coverage of it.

Tune in to the NFL network now. It's a breath of fresh air; I haven't heard anything of the case during the WAS vs. MIN game. Then again, I didn't tune in to halftime at all. Just pure football.

My gut feeling is that an overwhelming majority of Martin's teammates have been relentlessly busting his balls for a year and a half. But hey. He's half a *** that should have just sucked it up.

Your jabs at me worshiping Incognito are funny, and very much like you. So I won't get worked up over it. The fact is, I've been here since day one saying this was fishy, Martin has another reason for bringing up 6 month old text messages and voice mails.....theres another underlying reason. Funny, you were dead silent yesterday as the team came out and completely upended Martin on his ***** ***, after all your "omg he was bullied" defense....yet, his lawyer....again....HIS lawyer....comes out with some statement that me or you could write wasted on 151 after binge drinking in Vegas....and all of a sudden you're back with "ohh see there is more, I told you so" classic Sam bull**** just as CK would if he liked a draft pick and he started performing 4 years later than originally predicted.

The fact is, this is a cluster **** of information, bull****, and really none of us have a clue about whats going on until it's finished. This reeks of desperation on Martins lawyers part. Name dropping Andrew Luck, bringing up college "toughness" (haha in the pac 12)....and randomly all of a sudden throwing more teammates under the bus after the entire team called him on his crock of **** confessions.....it reeks of ***, and soon enough it will probably be proven as such.

Martin isn't mentally ill. He's soft. He doesn't want to be a part of the gang. He doesn't want to give the effort to be a ball player. But he wants to money.

I played college ball, I was in the locker room, you know what it'd be like if a guy in a wrestling locker room didnt fit in, or didnt reach out to be cool with everyone else....its toxic...you know it, I know it, thats the way it is. It's an adrenaline filled frat house, with physical contact cheered, and toughness earned. Guys like Martin don't make it.

And for the record I haven't been a badass since high school, and even then, I haven't been in a fight since like 8th grade.....I am a fraud badass :(

Unless he has been planning this for the last year and a half....Sam who takes constant badgering for over a year and half without boo being said back?

You shut your mouth and play a role not giving anything in return that the team could use against you IF you are planning to do what he did......
