I don't think Martin was ever rated that low, but honestly it wouldn't shock me. Ever since Ireland came to Miami, we have drafted a bunch of guys that always made you think "we could have grabbed him in later rounds".

Because bosses and managers can not be advocating that employees engage in physical confrontations . Besides being against the law you are laying a tremendous amount of liability on the organization . Jeff Ireland is a high ranking executve of a billion dollar organization and he decides to go all gangsta on an agent ? That is patently ridicoulous and would expose Ireland as a terrible manager if true . I almost can not believe Ireland would be that dumb .


As an example the agent tells Martin . Martin goes and punches out incognito , breaks his jaw and incognito goes unconscious when his head hits the curb . Do you understand the amount of legal trouble the dolphins organization would be in at that moment ? It would make the harassment law suit that is coming pale in comparison .


Anyone that has held a position in executive management or any management would know this .

I mean even THAT could be represented as Ireland saying Martin should punch people, and technically it's true. But still a different connotation than:

AGENT: Jon is tired of being bullied, Jeff. You have to do something.
IRELAND: Tell Jon he needs to nut-up and punch whoever gives him a problem right in the mouth.

Both bad. But both different.

I just keep seeing CONTEXTLESS information going out there and it's making me very uncomfortable. Let's wait til more facts WITH context, arrive.

I doubt that happens because very soon someone will blink. A game of chicken is being played out behind the scenes right now and I think we have only seen 1/8 of the iceberg.

Whoever has more to lose by the other 7/8 becoming public will blink first. Personally, I think the NFL settles and pays Martin to drop this.

 

Didn't Rex Ryan do the same thing (on camera no less) as it pertained to Vernon Gholston? Maybe he too should be kicked to the curb.

whatever happens with ireland happens, your rep as a "DOLPHINS FAN" on this board is ruined forever though, how can someone who claims to this as his favorite team act the way you do....its beyond understanding to me
