I am starting to hate the Ireland Apologist more then any of the other factions of this fanbase.

I am sick of all the excuses . I want to win before I die translation I want the dolphins to be a damn good football team instead of this dysfunctional . circus that we are.

we have become the most disliked sports team and I would put the Marlins ahead of the dolphins at this point .

the Heat has the right mindset to winning but the dolphins are interested in being in the news for the wrong reasons.

You have to actually watch the games, several times, to understand the real story and you have to watch other teams on a significant scale in order to properly put our OL play into context. And while I realize not everyone has the time or interest to do it people who don't do it need to understand how uneducated their opinions actually are.

Would you rather have Buffalo's OL? Atlanta, Indy, Baltimore, New Orleans? Seattle's OL is garbage but they win bc they have a great run game and defense to help mask it. Do you watch other teams and study their OL play, or do you run to the forum and whine about how the grass is greener?

Yes is not a football network. They are a baseball network and barely passable at that. You must have been listening to the callers on WFAN those years. The credible ones questioned whether coughlin would win a SB and they questioned if he was being made a lame duck in 06 based on contract status...they did not question his ability to coach or his qualifications.

Agreed on the first point. We do what we can and I think we do a decent job.
Second point is a personal decision and I dont think its necessarily a bad one if you dislike his posts.

We'll see, when I say that I mean we are 4-4, same as we were last season at this exact point in the yr, then the wheels came off.

If we see a reprise, and Tannehill has -0- Td games, then it is time to make changes.

If we cannot have a winning season, then Tannehill developing is worth it, if we cannot have either then something is wrong in the organization and the house should be swept clean.

And I like Philbin somewhat like Ireland, though think his approach alienates players to heavily via playing hardball down to the last sheckel on a contract dollar, witness Starks and Soliai.

 

Yes aired radio shows ( mike lupica, WFAN ) not at all restricted to baseball, covering everything, especially the Giants. Thats just one example, and your dismissing it. Coughlin was extended in 07...... Unless you have records of everything said by the media I dont see why your denying anyone questioned Coughlin as a Coach.

If this team chokes down the stretch (again), when they control their own playoff destiny, he should be fired. I'm not sure how people would justify him surviving 5 straight losing seasons. (especially after this current drama on top of it all) Miami has never had 5 straight losing seasons...and this streak of 4 only happened previously in 1966-1969 AFL.

The banner is a bit premature... but I wouldn't mind seeing it in week 17 if we're eliminated from playoff contention going into that game.

The season is full of highs and lows so it's pointless to talk long term decision making on a week to week basis. At the end of the year we can all sit back and judge what needs to happen or not happen. People trying to make judgements at this point have either pre determined their opinions or are caught up in the moment, maybe both.

 

That is my take, IDC about distractions and excuses, we are 4-4, again, a 7-9 and it's over, 8-8...on the fence, 9-7 or a playoff birth and no, leave them in place, 5 straight losing seasons is simply unpalatable.

To fly such a banner, when we are 5-4, is simple stupidity, especially during a must win matchup vs SD, to me, do that, and one should probably find another team to cheer for

Where do you guys see this bench of top notch GMs? I'm fairly neutral on Ireland but, if there is a surefire upgrade just sitting out there waiting to be a part of this organization I'm all for it weather it be for GM or any other position on the team. The team has the talent but what has lacked for years within this organization is passion. They need that vocal leader to tell them greatness CAN be theirs.

Just too many mistakes and too few wins , and well zero playoff appearances let alone wins . Hoping things will be better isn't the same as them being so .

Unless something dramatic comes out , I don't fire him till the end of the season . Of course if we win a playoff game or two , then it will be time to reevaluate his continuance.

 

This is not the time to add more problems tothe franchises plate.

I have seen enough to believe Ireland is not the best person to be the GM of this franchise. You said you would be on the fence with 8 and 8 , glad you are pleased by or ok with mediocrity , I am not . Too many mistakes , too often , the longer he stays the longer it will be till we have success imo .

I asked myself if I believed he was the ultimate answer , and that answer was a resounding not an effing chance. So for me it is easy to have made the decision that in my own personal view , he needs to go. Unless making the Super Bowl isn't the goal.

Could care less if there is a Fireland bannner or not , I do care that he is terminated after we fail , again , to make the playoffs.
